Thread: 100% Kinetic Resist Critters

This weekend I hada shocking surprise (ok, I forgot to /examine first) when I stepped out of the village to get just a hair more xp for the next skill box. Anyway, I set my sights on a big, juicy looking Malkloc Plainswalker. After a half a minute or so of beating on the critter, I realized none of its HAM bars were going down, at all! A quick /examine showed me why. This monster was 100% resistant to my attacks. Luckily I had my speederbike nearby to beat a hasty retreat.


SWGCreatures.com only lists four such creatures with 100% resists. After reading that Dark Trooper post about the 95% resists, I'm foced to wonder what else is out there (no humanoids on SWGCreatures.com) that I need to guard against hasty decisions.

This is something I found very interesting. I believe nightsister elders are also 100% kinetic resist. This makes me beg the question... why? I don't find it logical for a creature to have 100% resist to a certain type of damage. Everything should be partly vulnerable to kinetic attacks. I mean, make it 90% or 95% if they have to, but be realistic if you beat on something long enough with a sword or punch it with a knuckler for an hour, eventually it will feel it. Hehe, just my two cents.

agreed but then the defense stacker who i shot 25 times in the head should be dead too

Certain NPC's have different resist in order to give professions more define role in pve.

A TKM's role in hight level pve is basically tanking , while a swordsman, rifelman or jedi applys most of the damage.

TKM's can solo everything in the game except for Elders/some singing MC people, DJM,Gorax and acient krayts

Mokk Rockshaper right? Yeah, he must be thinking that we can do heat damage (damn Razor Knuckler) so that's why he stated that you could get at at 70% Resist, Heat.

Yeah I had a nasty experience with one of those rockshapers back in the day... couldn't get away from the damn thing, it chased me half way across Dantooine!*

Eventually KD'd then burst run, but a good way to handle these things is to carry a handy probot droid

Rember Boys and girls you were given 250 skill points for a reason. Unless your def. stacking TKM (or pistols) you should have something to hurt most things. (Note: master pistoleer/TKM i'm about useless vs. most things you sould never be allowed to kill by your self)

Yeah those damn Malklocs... done that before! Also never sussed the 100% resist thing, seems a bit odd but although it isn't particularly logical, it certainly has it's place in a community-oriented game

Im new so dont flame me ,or not too much lol . I was on Dant. friday night and a guy runs by me yelling HELP and that he was being chaced by a 100% Kinetic resist cave man looking thing . I told him that I couldnt help since it was 100% resist , and he says I still can do 70% to it ??? So I started punching this thing and nothing happens other than a trip to the cloner . So what Im asking is a 100% is a 100% right ?

mokk rockshaper, NS elder and webdancer in the spiderclan cave are the NPC i just can remember with 100% kinetic.

except for the elder, take with you a janta knife and a CDEF pistol. stack the poison on the NPC and keep him/her intimidated/stun/blind/dizzy-kd, after less or either more time there will be only 1 mind left, then equip the CDEF pistol with energy damage andfinish it

dude dont ever say that
they were never meant to "tank"
and everything should have at least some vulnerablity to kinectic attacks
or we need a new knuckler quick
