Well you are in pretty good shape, I think.

I know your HAM costs are high, but so are everyone else's. You just have to buff up in order to kick ass, it's how the doctors and entertainers make a living.

Actually, though,you have alot more going for you than just speed. You also have great accuracy, consistant damage, and by far the highest DPS of any melee profession, against all armor levels, using nothing morethan a garden variety vibro knuckler with an excellentdamage slice.

Here's how the powerhammer works (btwthis is all backed up by experience;I was a TKM and have been a Swordsman for a long time):

• For the big hits, you use a 35% damage sliced hammer: 186-634 @ 5.3s. HAM cost 104-31-29


• It's slow - Hit 3 happensevery 3.3 seconds (yeah that slow)


• About 1 in 4 attacks will miss(andpvp is much worse). A quick glance at my combat log showed 14 misses out of 62 specials. This is normal.Swordsman has only +130 accuracy and the hammer is -30


• Hit 3 is x4 damageand there's thestandard x1.86 factor too, so it will land for anywhere from 1384-4717 damage. It's an AP2 hit, so it gets a 25% damage bonus against Light armor, so1730-5896


• Average DPS against Light armor calculates to be1155. Actually for higherDPS you can use a speed sliced hammer, and you will see 1291 DPS doing smaller hits but faster. But you still miss about 1 time in 4, so the damage throughput ends up at 968 DPS

And here's how the vibro knuckler compares:

• You'll want a35% damage sliced knuckler: 51-198 @ 2.2s. HAM cost 32-47-31


• Hit 3 happens every second


• Misses don't happen muchthanks to+205 accuracy and+11 on the knuckler


• With Unarmed Damage +250, Hit 3 doing x4, and the standard x1.86 factor, Spitting Rawl will landfor 2239-3333vs. Light armor. Nice consistant damage


• Average DPS against Light armor calculates to be 2786. Even if you miss 1 time in 10,the damage throughput is still 2507 DPS

Now you have to admit that's some pretty good stuff.You won't get the big hitsthe powerhammer can deliver,but on the bright side you can:

• Go barefisted and do twice the DPS a Swordsman can against stuff with no armor


• Go barefisted and do 93%the DPS a Swordsman can against Light armor,or put on the knuckler and do 2.5x (!!!)the Swordsman's DPS


• Do 61% higher DPS than a Swordsman against Medium and Heavy armor

So as you can see, TKA is quite strong, having great speed, accuracy, far superior DPS, and versatility.

If you want to landthe big hits, go ahead and master Swordsman, but be warned: you will be slow, your accuracy and DPS will be crap,and the HAM costs will be even higher. You can still have fun with it though...My 2c
