Thread: I'm about to go insane here!
I'm guessing your doing something wrong, are you using CoB? Are you definitly not wearing armour? What weapons are you using?
CoB is a life saver you can keep it up, I usually start CoB when I see it flashing so it never drops.
Armour removes your 6000 point armour that all TKM's have. Check combat tab to see if your armour is working.
Most of our weapons are worse than using fists, although if your using a 2H weapon then it should be hitting reasonably hard.
I started my respec at lvl 56 and have managed to grind up to 80 with no probs, my temp is currently TKM/Swordmaster/Doc 4000 and I don't seem to have any probs taking on anything my level, highest I've done so far is two 84 NS Stalkers.

i have no armor icons and CoB is glitched for me. i see the meter fill up and nothing happens. i am level 58 and am using a vibro axe to train for swordsman. i have not mananaged to kill anything over level 20 and two that level kill me in a second or two. it is really not fun.
you are probably moving during the warm-up time. create a macro similar to this:
/center;
/pause 40;
/t caymus the timer is running out. stand still!!!
/pause 6;
/macro center
(the above assumes improved cob. and that your toon's name is caymus.
)
works for me. i hardly ever miss the COB hitting.
You should see 3 numbers 1 is total damage one is how much your armour has absorbed/deflected and the final is how much actual damage.
As to which prof to take first I went TKM then Swordmaster. But I wasn't having any issues with CoB. You may find a good set of armour and being a Swordmaster an easier path until your CoB problem is fixed.
Remember to set default attack with mouseclick adn ctrl on the icon.
Remember to alternate 2 specials for more DPS, since you can execute one during the refresh time of the other.

The weapon timer is mostly gone now, so you can use your TK and switch to sword halfway through to get some of those sword points in. Keep your stim D's on the toolbar. And get the best sword you can find, one that has only a level requirement.
In fact you can use a ranged weapon,again with a level cert,to draw one mob out at a time to work on, switch to sword for as long as you can, then unequip the sword to finish it off with TK.Stim if needed. Keep the weapons on the toolbar.
Edit: not sure if you need novice marksman for that or not, but if you're still training you might have the points, some TK have been known to use traps for that purpose also

Traps come from the scouting lineI'm not 100% certain in our CU times, I have scout but haven't tossed a single trap honestly in our CU-affected world, but I believe we at least *used* to need novice scout to toss traps. Definitely have to have it for making them.
To use a trap you must have the traping lvl to make it. You could not buy a lvl 4 Ranger trap, and use it as a lvl 4 Scout. I use traps from about 35-40m away for target, to agro it and pull it away form all its buddies. The trap I use mostly is the 'glow wire' trap, it lowers the defence both ranged and melee of the critter, so it is good solo and in group. 'Glow wire' is not really a high lvl trap, it somewhere in Scout, don't remember what lvl, it's been a long time
Good luck hope some of this helps.
