Thread: Has any of you Nerf Criers ever watch a TKA fight a 80 percent resist kinetic composite wearer?

I have, and the armors come pretty easily. 200k for one (no stun but oh well), these things can pretty much repel any kinetic attacks. I've done maybe 30-40 dmg tops against a doc buffed composite wearer. Maybe you guys need to go over to the doc department and ask to nerf them, because of docs, composite armors don't have such a big penalty with buffs on like they use to be, and in fact a lot of pvpers have doc in template or always have doc buff before pvping.

I am a TKA myself and wouldn't want to see this profession altered as it's one of the few that seems to work fine/as intented.

But the point you're raising is the same for fencers using anything else than a stun damage, swordmen and pikemenusing anything else but a NS pike so it's irrelevant.

It's a brawler issue, not a TKA issue and as such isn't an argument to convince the nerf-criers that a given profession should be nerfed or not.

Actually it's a TKA issue cause TKA are the only combat profession that uses kinetic only. Now fencer uses stun, Pikeman get electricity, and swordsman get blast. Now don't forget, that PvP is considered end content, so usually to even have a chance, you should pvp with at least one combat profession as master.

I think this is one of the keypoint as to whether TKA should be nerfed or not, and they shouldn't be. Actually they need to nerf the composite armors, since what 80 percent of the things in the game do kinetic dmg (more then likeyl 90).

So it's not just a brawler issue. Thank you. ^_^

Note: I'm confused a little on your reply regarding about saying it's a brawler issue, since it's not really a brawler issue. Majority of these people that's complaining about TKA is the amt of dmg they can do in a short period of time, yet their defense's aren't great and their acuity don't seem to even work right. TKA seems to be the offensive power with speed, fencers being defensive, swordsman being both defense and offensive, and pikemans being all out offensive.

Which TK skill is that.... I am TKM and I can't mind poison.........................

Or are you talking about a skill set from another profession?

That is like saying Scout isn't a weak combat profession. Just pull out your sword and mind bleed them..

This just happened to me the other night too. I was in a raid and doing pretty good, when up comes Ted Composite User. I held my own for a bit but the prob is this---he wasnt even having to heal himself or alter his attacks at all, because I couldnt put a darn **edit** in him, Nothing. It was really kind of ridiculous, how one sided it was. I was only holding my own so long as I could keep myself healed, and since he didnt have to worry about it, eventually he was damaging me faster thanI could heal.

This would be all fine and dandy, but like my screenshot reveals, there was barely a sliver of white in his HAM. It was like he was Superman. This is more than an advantage, this is lop-sided. But I digress.....

The reason Im posting is for all the morons who cry nerf tka just b/c they lose a fight. If you notice above, Im annoyed with how one sided the fight was against a high composite user, but im smart enough to realize that in the overall combat picture, everyone has their weakness. Too bad we cant establish some kind of a base IQ needed to play this game, that way the Devs might make less rash, poorly planned changes simply to quiet the Loudest type of players: THE SORE LOSERS.

I think you pretty much convinced meBlack Edge about the fact TKA are really restricted to kinetic while others have way round.

But I must admit, on Chimaera at least, very few fencers use a stun baton (bad byrothsis pop so far) and even fewer pikemen have the electricity NS lance. To tell you the truth I didn't even notice swordmen has a blast weapon.

Regardless, speaking of experience I didn't have much difficulties in PvP, what made me win wasn't really my raw damage (although it did help) but rather my ability to prevent range users from kiting (lunge) and whether or not i succeed in kd/dizzy a given target.

Fights against high kinetic resist are challenging indeed, and the best way is usually to team up with a range user and to the tanking while he kills the high kinetic opponent. So has weakness and strength, so bottom line is sorry you were right, the damage type restriction is a great defense against the people calling for tka nerf : it is our weakness, and seeing how composite is common, it's a common weakness among TKAs.

lol, you guys are finally comming around. I've been saying for a long time that a master brawler with a million credits can hold his own with any tkm. That's why i dropped it.

Well, almost any basic combat profession with a million credits can hold his own but without any kind of good moves that the elite classes can provide.

Fencers have stun damage, max resist is around 42%, 45% is the theoretical max using the best materials. So they aren't affected as badly like TK are.

Swordsman have blast damage and kinetic damage, both with medium armor piercing. So they aren't affected as badly as TK are.

Pikeman have weapons with medium armor piercing, and electrical dmg, so they aren't affected as badly as TK are.

Also all of these professions have weapons with DOTs, and REALLY strong ones generally, easily available to them. DOT VK's are probably one of the rarest items in the game.

I'm not saying TK is underpowered or in need of help, but in certain situations there is not much a PURE tka can do.
