Taigei: By what principlesdo teräs käsi practitioners live?
Perry: That depends of the depth of dedication and training. Viewed strictly as a fighting system, the art is aggressive rather than passive -- the best defense is a good offense. When in doubt, go in and hit. Phow Ji, for instance, was pretty much a sociopathic thug, but he stopped at the mastery of the physical.
I haven't gone into depth about mental and spiritual development, but it would tend to be a bit more aggressive than the Jedi arts. Meyer Baba's non-violence of the strong: Peaceful, as long as you leave me alone, but when threatened, one's response matches or exceeds the threat.

Where is OUR offense??.............IN SWORDS!!!?!?!..........LOL....how did that happen?
awsome article BTW
Hehe, yeah. We'd have to stretch it there in SWG. I took Perry's comment on principle as the fighting spirit of TK: TK are assertive fighters, no matter what their skills.
Gold star for the clicky!

isn't steve perry the lead singer from journey?
Hehe, on Perry'swebsite he starts out saying "I'm a writer -- not the rock singer..." Guess he gets that a lot. Perry's a prolfic writer and is finishing his 54th novel. He's been doing collaborations with Tom Clancy lately, and his book, Shadows of the Empire, is hailed as the best SW novel ever by many (the book inspired action figures, comic series, other books and even it's own soundtrack, as well as introducing new ideas which really caught on like TK and Black Sun).
The MedStar duology is his latest collaboration with Michael Reaves (they do really good work together). MedStar I is a TK fan's dream come true. My jaw was dropped the whole time reading Phow Ji's final battle. Unbelievable.
