Don't get me wrong, its still terribly high, but unequiping my knucks and using knockdown, the HAM cost was around 220.

Something else I noticed. The delay in hitting after re-equipping the knucks seemed to be gone. (which is good)

So for now, we CAN still be viable. Just have to be a little more carefull.

Going to have to do some stat migration though.

come on. we should not have to take off knucklers and back on. it is insane that we have to do a loop hole around the nerf

This better be bugged. 220 ham is fricken ridiculous for knockdown since we don't scale up HAM wise as we increase in power.

I might as well just give up Master TKA if we're not going to get something in return for the only defensive ability in the game being nerfed into total oblivion. I'll just pick up Pistoleer like everyone else and enjoy my new and nifty holsters while doing my "twirly thing" special emote with my new set of dual-pistols.

I'm assuming you're talking about knockdown1, did you test knockdown2?

The power increase we were supposed to get to offset this crap isn't working either. The new bonus doesn't 'stack' somehow with knucklers, I'm hitting for way less than I was pre-patch.

They need to fix this PDQ. You happened to send an email to them yet about it?

So much for feeling hopeful that some GOOD changes were coming outta this, eh Thunder?

Heh, come now, we've nerfed you plenty while telling you so.

Well, I made master pre-patch by always always taking off the knucklers before I styled. It's doubly necessary now, well actually TRIPLY as you use triple the ham for only about double the damage. that really isn't an efficient use of ham.

WhileI did it to minimize downtime pre-patch I'll be doing it now just to have a fighting chance of not incapping myself post-patch =)

I agree with you, Thunderwulf .

By just unequiping vk's, using a knockdown, then re-equiping them each time we get hit again, we can kill white/yellows. That's called balance, I think ?

Yea, the cost is still "game breakingly" high, but Im still not giving up just yet.

Im almost reluctant to send another report. Im afraid I'd make things worse.

Here's my take on it. I'm not upset that it costs 250 or so HAM to use KD. I'm also not upset that berserk is now useless. Fine. I can see the justification for both of those changes. Here's what I don't accept.

1) That our KD cost is 250 while pistoleers pay 150 for a skill that accomplishes the same thing, has better range and superior damage. If you want to compare apples to apples, our HAM cost with weapon equiped is over 600.A BH's ranged KD isonly 200-300, depending on the weapon.Thisis not balanced, its punative.

2) That none of the promised power increase actually works. I do the same or less damage now as I always did. Q said that they were increasing the power of most of our specials. Simply did not happen. Was it a mistake or deliberate misdirection? I'm willing to believe the former... for now.

Comparative weakness and broken promises are what set me off. We have plenty of that here and I think we deserve an answer.

Basically vibro knucks or not the HAM cost is excessive, therefore KD1 or KD2 are overall worthless, which probably wont bother those of you who thought it was "a cheat". So lets try an alternate method I think lets try using special moves and no vibro knucks, and lets try the dizzy, lunge style with one knockdown thrown in. That was 4 hours ago and I have seen the cloning station way way too many times. Bugged or no they nerfed us into oblivion. My grandmother with her walker has more get up and go and more energy than my trandoshan TKA.

But dont worry they still get my money Im going back to EQ.

I would think that doing that (unequipping and then equipping the VKs) is against what SOE was trying to accomplish in the first place. Otherwise they could have just lowered the damage KD does. If that's the case then we can expect that this "loophole" will be fixed in a week or so. That is unless SOE decides to get off this path of trying to destroy TKA as a viable class.

I appreciate that I can still do some thing by taking my VKs off but that really is a bit like asking a ranged user to go back to a lower level weapon to pull off some of his moves.Unacceptable.

Beyond that, there is no guarantee they won't continue to assault the class. While they are talking about adding twirl moves and dual pistols to pistoleers we get thwacked so the only way we can do any moves is to use a loophole. Great.

Is there any way we can get an official word from the developers on what their vision of TKA is ultimately? Hearing that would really help me decide what to do right now. If I need to go pistol I'd like to stop wasting time on TKA.

All knockdowns should cost the same IMO...at least IMO now. I mean hell, I could care less now that ranged has all the advantage, and that a ranged user can melee at close proximity a KD similar in ours, just let me pay the same **edit** price ffs...

Only professions that should have a Knockdown feature should be Smugglers with Low Blow and the Brawling class. I never heard of guns Knocking people down on the ground with a shot without killing them... (shoot them in the leg yes but work with me here).

Not as bad as you thought, come on get with it.

That is if your lucky enough for the KD1 or KD2 to actually put the **edit** thing down, if it doesn't you have to try again... so much for you HAM bar as whatever your duking it out with continues to pound on you.

However if they lowered the cost to a more reasonable rate like what it was before BUT putting a timer on it like (using EQ as a example here) Flying Kick, from the Monk Class, it refreshes every 9 seconds. That would put things more in line and make it so we couldn't spam KD on our targets.

But as another person stated before, this is a typical Verant/SOE tactic and they never take back changes they have made, hell if they're up to their usual tactics they won't say anything is wrong until 4 years have gone by.

This is why I quit EQ, and why I have now quit SWG.

Honestly, its not as bad for masters as it is for upandcomers. I mean masters will do more damage and thus require less time fightinga mob than someone who just got Knockdown1... so prety much anyone not at at least master power is kinda sol...
