Thread: How to get the most out of dancer mind bufs as a TKM

Ok here is the way to get alot more than just +100% mind from a master dancer buf

Start watching and the usual things to get the buf.

now after about 8 min use muon gold, bespine port and food that adds to mind

then use powerboost when you hit 10min watching your mind should have reached the limit you can get with self bufs which for me is about 3000 give or take 100

Now stop watching the dancer after 10 minto get the +100% mind buf for 2 hours

this will give you a mind buf for 2 hours based on your mind score when you get the buf ie for me it's about 3k buf.

Now wait 10min for powerboost, food, drugs, drink to wear off and then you have your basic mind + the very good dancer buf.

For me this is: 4k mind...

Now powerboost suddenly becomes alot more interresting hehe

a good trick is to get doctor bufs before dancer bufs since the duration on good doctor bufs is longer than dancer buf.

But with the best bufs of both kinds you should be able to get quite abit out of powerboost and have lots of mind, health and action.

Happy Gaming.

A small warning when the dancer buf wears out you will get hit for a 3k mind damage - so prepare to get incapped for about 120 seconds. (Your mind will almost allways go to -100)

Also notice that when powerboost is used at that kind of effect the drop in health, action and mind when it wears out will be quite hard (2k in my case)

so if any of those bars for you is below 2k the powerboost cool down will incap you - worst case about 2min.

So i suggest running in on a timer.

In my experience duration at TKM is about 10min after the full effect sets in.

Happy tanking

When you get the substats doctor buffed as well, when the powerboost hits, you can regen health and action pretty quickly.

My best mind pool so far has been 7409 (with all buffs) and it just kinda bites having so much mind right now because the focus and willpower buffs are all messed up. They raise the max valuebut not the actual value. After the spice and food downers hit, for some reason my focus ends up doubled (from 300 to 600)and my willpower loses 300 (from 900 to 600). The last time i tried, for some odd reason my willpower went down as far as 150 and didn't go back until I had logged off for a while. But when the bugs are worked out it should be pretty fun.

BTW knuma, what foods and drinks have you been using to get your results? If you're getting 4k it might sound better then what i've been using. I've been using Muon Gold, Flur-Cle Onion, some angelic drink (480 mind) and after waiting a couple minutes I'm able to drink another drink that gives about another 120.

same foods as you i think. but a high base mind score of 1k

in essence i only add 2k to my mind. then get dancer buf

i could properly reach about 8k tops

waiting for my stats to allocate another 100 to mind hehe

since it pays off to hams in the end anyway

i'll also go for more wp since i need more wp regen.

But basicaly the trick is to get about 4k (round down for ease of writing and becourse i can't remember exact numbers)unbuffed then you can buf to about 5 - 6k with foods drugs and use powerboost for greatest effect ofcourse the danger is that once your powerboost goes after combat your properly low on mind and will get incapped so you have to win fast hehe makes it exciting and not totaly safe to use - i like it really.

Knuma,

It's nice of you to share this nice info with the community, but what you've described is textbook of an exploit. Something that should not be normally achievable but is possible using work-arounds for game mechanics. The whole mind buffing and food right now is a little bugged and you're taking advantage. I suggest you use the power you were ment to have and stop doing this as you have been reported now. Congrats.

heh, wait a sec. You're saying that because we use food, drinks, spice and buffs we're exploiting? We're not even doing it in a shady manner. Just drink, eat, spice, buff, powerboost. What could possibly be the exploit in that? What exactly is it that isn't supposed to be achievable? What's the work-around? I agree that it's bugged, but it's bugged in that fact that we're taking esentially double damage when a buff wears off and often incaps us. This is something that didn't happen before the patch.

report me as well.

LoBai you are being extremely self righteous, who are you to judge how another person plays the game. From what I've read they areneither griefing nor exploiting, but merely using the items and skills that are already in game and simply stacking them. Just play the game your way and mind your own business.

"It's nice of you to share this nice info with the community, but what you've described is textbook of an exploit. "

FALSE. Exploiting is using a little known bug that is obviously a bug to get an advantage. This has not been even claimed as a bug by the devs. Neither would it be an exploit if it was. It's well known and logical to do. Next...

The way you describe is somewhat backwards. You should powerboost LAST.

You end up with the same exact mind bonus, but you also get more healtha nd action out of the powerboost if you do it last.

watch for 10 min, food, thruster head (this is beter for this use because its +600 mind instead of +500). Then stop watching. Now powerboost.

You will end up with the same bonus to mind but you get a much bigger bonus to hp and action this way.

Acutally it does seem like an exploit basiclly he is saying, if you take all these other things (spice & foods) then get your mind buffed by a dancer it will give you more.. breaking it down for you;

Base mind 1,000 + Dancer buff = 2,000 mind for 2 hours (as designed)

Exploit way: base mind 1,000 + moun gold (650) + power boost (650) + food (250) = 2,550 + dancer buff = 5,100 mind. Spice, food and power boost wears off still leaves you with a 3,550 mind for 1hour 50 minutes (not as intended, I'm guessing)

When you use a bug over and over to gain an advantage it is an exploit

Not that I care, but everyone seemed to jump onLobai's case about mentioning it might be an exploit.

And yes the game is buggy, very buggy - but taking advantage of the bugs to get gains is an exploit by definition.

Your premise is that the dancer boosts were not designed to work off buffed mind and rather they were designed to work off unbuffed mind.

Until you can prove this assertion lay off the exploit cries. For all you know, this could be by design and you are way off base.

People, in order to do this you utilize the skillset of multiple professions to produce greater results. If we are going to get away from Pet Wars Galaxies and closer to Star Wars Galaxies, we need to support any method available to increase player HAM bars.

Powerboost is killer. The other brawler elites need something like it for balance. Right now, the only brawler that can really tank effectively enough to replace pets most of the time is a TKA... for the sake of the brother and sister (fencer) professions.

"And yes the game is buggy, very buggy - but taking advantage of the bugs to get gains is an exploit by definition."

There is no proof that it is a bug. It doesn't "seem like an exploit" You are clearly mistaking it. What it "seems like" is it "seems overpowered"

But it's not an exploit because it's powerful. Besides you act like any joe can walk into a cantina and get his mind buffed. The dancer has to specifically give it to you and generally (like doctor buffs) you gotta pay for it. If this was not how it was intended, though they would have simply made it work like doctor buffs where master dancers gave +1500. Instead they made it double the **current** mind.

Also using bug over and over once it is well known is kind of exploiting but once it's in the game long enough it changes from "bug" to "not bug" because it's simply due to negligence game mechanics after a while. Case in point: manufacturing schematics.
