b4 anyone jumps me for this i am not saying this is an exploit , but no matter what if it is a bug causing this then you are exploiting. read the code of conduct if you dont report a bug you are exploiting plain an simple

i have had no success with even getting a mind buff from master entertainers since patch , from what i am reading you need to watch a master for at least 10 minutes is ther anything else you need to do specifically to get this master buff?

Start watching and the usual things to get the buf.

No exactly. You will not get automaticly buffed by watching-listening a dancer or musician.

When you are not in groupe the performer have to use /setpeform on you or you have to be grouped with the entertainer.

Exploit way: base mind 1,000 + moun gold (650) + power boost (650) + food (250) = 2,550 + dancer buff = 5,100 mind. Spice, food and power boost wears off still leaves you with a 3,550 mind for 1hour 50 minutes (not as intended, I'm guessing)

You do realize doctors can buff for well over 2500 points to Health, Action, or any of their substats? I had an action pool of 1100 and I have landed a buff for 2808 to Action before and I know I can do more with some enhancements and better resources. 1100 + 2808 = 3908. Oh and guess what? It lasts over 3 hours. So why would a mind pool of 3550 that lasts only 2 hours be an exploit, especially considering it can't be healed?

Wow, hit a nerve huh?

Ask yourself if any other game system works like what you've described? Could you pop spice, food, than watch an entertainer before and get that kind of boost. The whole point of it is that you're doing it in a particular order to get a better effect than another order with the same materials and skills applications. The whole stat thing is buggy right now, and the downside to what you mentioned is that when the spice/food/dancer buff runs out, you mind comes crashing down and you're just standing around fighting and you're instantly incapped.

I didn't phrase it like I was calling for you to get banned Knuma, or anyone else, just pointing out that this isn't right and we shouldn't be taking advantage of it. Take a little pride in being honest and using only what you've earned in the game. We're very strong as is and we don't to exploit (yes, exploit) the game mechanics to get any stronger. Respect yourself.

Actually you could. Powerboost has always worked off your total mind pool. The bigger the mind the bigger the buff you get. Dancers (not just entertainers) have always been able to buff the mind, although not as much as they can now. So even before the patch this process worked, just didn't yeild as good of results.

So again I'll ask as I said in my last post. What's so exploiting about having a mind pool in the 3-4000 range when any other stat can easily reach that with Doctor buffs which not only last longer, they can also be healed.

So please spell out exactly what's being exploited. The only bug in the current setup is taking double the damage when effects wear off and incapping people.

The exploit occurs not from having a crazy high mind pool (more power to you, the kind you were ment to have), but from using the skills you have in a certain order...that's they key. That was the point of the snippet you quoted above. If you boosted first, than poped spice, watched/listened to dancers/musicians and ate food, the boost would be less...in some cases, substancially less.

When you do something like that (enhances of a certain type) in a certain order or in a certain way to yield a greater outcome than any other combination would yield otherwise with the same components, that's what's disonest about it. I don't believe (this is my opinion coming through) that that's what the DEVs intended and believe that now that it's been reported and documented by myself and others in-game I'm sure it'll be fixed before too long, though it's not that big of a problem really because you come down so hard off of that high that it's not really worth it anyways, but that's not the point. Principle is the point.

So now i'm an exploiter eh ?

Well food, drugs, drink all give you a bonus to mind, so does powerboost, and dancer bufs.

The fact that they stack is nice and using that they stack is an exploit eh - i doubt it and fore the record only TKA can get redicolously high mind with this most other are limited at about 3k which is the same 2k buf you can get from a doctor for the other stats so i seriously doubt it's an exploit.

It's a simple way for dancers to give higher bufs to people - think about it this way:

You get mind buffs from wathcing a dedicated preformance for you- from a roleplaying perspektive it's obvious that your enjoyment of this is increased if you have a nice dinner as well - for some a nice dinner might include a few drugs.

SO from a roleplayers perspective this makes alot of sense- meaning i'd never stop having a nice dinner in the cantina while i Enjoy the dance of a Twi'lek and the musik ofa true virtuoso.

As for it being an exploit well the only reason it works as a increase to the buf is that the buf is based on the max mind at the time of buf - so if they change it to be the max mind at any given time it will no longer work but then nobody but roleplayers will have a nice dinner and a glas of absinthe in the cantina.

This exact thing is the reason why i almost never bother to post on forums for mmorpgs.

As for an exploit here is an ao example of one:

In the early days area off effect attacks could attack though walls leaving no line of sight to you for the victems meaning you could safely kill anything from 2-3 rooms away.

NOW THAT IS AN EXPLOIT.
