I agree, it was more than disappointing how he died. They built up this completely awesome character who was an amazing fighting and everything. Clearly he could use the force and since he did use force push, why didn't he just force push Obi-Wan from the random pipe sticking from the wall as he was holding on to it? Curious...
Just popping in here to respond to this, then I'll get back to my Rifleman forums. ![]()
I've read a few books on Darth Maul. A few, but not all, so I'd say I know a few things.
But anywho, I was reading something about himin one of those books, and I heard that he was extremely cocky. I dunno about you, butIF I was extremely cocky, and I was just a Padawan and I had just killed a knight, and about to kill another, I'd be acting a little cocky too. I mean, who'd expect a Padawan to force jump from a little ledge in the middle of an extremely deep tunnel, grab his masters lightsaber with the force(Because his own was destroyed) and then strike me down?
If I was cocky, I'd be laughing at them and would take my sweet time. Which is what I think Lucas tried to paint Maul as in the film. Just about his only line in the entire film is "Now we will get to reveal ourselves," which shows (IMO) that Maul has been just dying to kill some Jedi because he has extreme confidence in his abilities.
Plus, he forgot to /powerboost and wasa little low on the action pool points

Sorry if this was said in the thread, not in the mood to read it all hehe ... Teras Kasi were basically the Jedi Police, keeping light jedi from becoming dark, so prolly not.
(correct me if im wrong =P)

Yea, thats what i meant actually Blackbri. My problem is that whenever i get into a heated discussion, i tend to get offended when i feel my intelligence being tested lol. I dont mind accepting facts, but there were some tiems when i thought Atama was being sorta rude so that didnt help my judgment any.
The point was was that Atama had his facts straight, and when he was communicating his point of view, i didnt understand it because i felt i needed to retaliate in defense.
I had found many many mixed facts on the internet on the given subject of Boba Fett's survival/death. I finally understood the technicalities and i now better understand EU, Canon, and Continuity thanks to him straightening it up for me.
The terms canon and whatnot only hold weight to the people who make it matter. I believed Star Wars wasnt just George Lucas's creation, and that to continue the world through EU media was what mattered. Atama believes the canon gig, and i find that ok honestly, i just feelStar Wars continuity is equal with its movie parents so long as its in the StarWars.com databank, but thats just me.
I say Atama won because he had an opinion and he defended it. As for me, i learned from my ignorance on the matter. Its always good to learn something new, ya know?

As a Peaceful bystander in this battle I find an amazing lack of humility. I have read over and over again from Mandalorian him saying that he allows for the fact that there are differing opinions and the battle has turned from one about the death of Boba Fett to the acceptance of another's opportunity to disagree.
Mandalorian, there is no way to win this arguement with someone that cannot possibly admit that there is a possibility that they are not looking at the same "facts" as you since "facts" are non-existant in this arguement anyway. Truth is what you make of it. And you each have your own "truth".
Atama, by Mandalorian bringing up the middle-East he is not intending to bring in politics, he is trying to reference to the lack of acceptance or understanding in other's beliefs. I see this whole arguement as an example of the differing views on the Bible from the Jewish and Christian communities. Both believe in the Old Testament (canon so to speak)but the Jewish do not believe in the New Testament (the EU) and that Jesus is actually the Son of God. The Jewish believe he is merely another prophet like Moses and Abraham. Does this make either one wrong? No, it just shows that they have different beliefs in the same religious vein.
I do not know what compelled me to write this but it is the belief that if everyone could admit that there is always a possibility that they could be wrong, there would be a lot less fighting and more true acceptance of the differences that make us great.

Actually, was Darth Maul chasing the two Jedi or was he chasing Padame? I he was chasing Padame then wouldn't he only need novice BH and skill tapes to use the droids on the same planet?
As to the canon vs. non-canon EU debate: I only have to look at I, Jedi and most of the other Jedi related books (which frequently contradict what "the Force" was supposed to be), the fact that they can't give up the use of "lasers" instead of blasters in the EU, the contradictions between the various books in general, and the super incredible luck everyone has in the books that I have to laugh at their absurdity.
Of course there's always the Christmas special which is also EU....but thats pretty painful to bring up.
