ok the whole thing about powerboost being too powerful...its not...its perfect.

"Power Boost is too powerful. This ability should be moved to Master TKA and reduced in effectiveness tremendously. It's ridiculous to have 5k Health - 5k Action - 7k Mind even for 8 minutes."

ok first of all we dont get 5k boosts...powerboost alone cant even get you to 2k per ham bar. so the ppl youve seen are muon goldiggers and such.

Heh, yeah. If you're PBing to 5K HAM, let me know how you do it

Power boost provides in the neighborhood of five hundred points (half your mind pool) of boost, not five thousand.

A new bug I've noticed is that PB does not work with dancer buffs any more. It used to be that if you had your mind pool buffed to 2K, PB would take it to 3K, boosting all HAM pools by 1000. Now, if you use PB on top of a dancer buff, it removes the dancer buff and replaces it with the PB buff.

I think that probably the way it used to work was too strong, but if you have 1000 base mind, and get a 100%dancer buff to 2K , your PB should add the same 500 it would if you were not mind buffed. Why should TKAs not be able to use dancer buffs?

So, PB should buff HAM pools by 1/2 your base maximum mind value, regardless of other buffing.

yea PB should act just like any other buff. It should also not be affected by anything. I know that is a slight nerf but the reason why people think it should be nerfed is because of these people running around with 3-4k mind before the patch. Add 500 to all ham bars it not overpowered. If it is, then doc buffs of 5 times the strength are 5 times overpowered.

Um... if i read the original post right, it means they're nerfing powerboost. right now after using it, I get 1500/1500/1500 for around 9 or 10 minutes. Now the orginal post says:

  • Your MIND pool will suffer an instantaneous decrease in size (temporary max change, not a wound) equivalent to the boost value for 60s.
  • HEALTH and ACTION will ramp up over 60s to the boosted value as MIND returns to its pre-command execution value.

This shows nothing about ur mind going up 500.... I hope he missed that cause I'll be pissed if they take that away.

The problem with threads like this, they live past incremental changes, and people get confused on what 'old' is.

Current live:
half current max mind initially. That much added to action and health over a ramp up period. Mind recovers to full, then gets the origional half added to it again (with 1000/1000/1000 ham, initially goes 1000/1000/500, ramps to 1500/1500/1000 then toggles to 1500/1500/1500).

If you boost your mind first (say, with muon gold), it currently works (on live) with increased yield.
1000/1000/1000 -> 1000/1000/1500 -> 1000/1000/750 -> 1750/1750/750 -> 1750/1750/1500 -> 1750/1750/2250

On TC currently, the most you ever get from a boost is your maximum NATURAL mind (the rating you can stat migrate), never the buffed total. So, if you have a natural mind pool of 1000, you'll always get a boost of 500, whether you eat some muon, or chef fun, or watch dancers, or whatever.

I've tested this and found it to be not true! Can anyone else test and confirm this?

I always get the same buff to my health and action, regardless if I've cranked my mind pool with food or spice or entertainer buffs.

In Seshemw's above scenario, I get the following results...

1000/1000/1000 -> 1000/1000/1500 -> 1000/1000/1000 -> 1500/1500/1000 -> 1750/1750/2000

Please someone test this!

he was ralkin of current live..not TS...but to tell you the truth i could care less about test server till it comes out... i get the 1500/1500/1500 thing for 10 minutes and it suites me fine.... the dancer stuff just adds on to it... i cant use it to expoit more...which is normal...

I am a Zabrak, my current health stats/sub stats are: 875/500/375 Action/sub stats: 900/400/375 Mind/sub stats: 775/400/800.

If I wear a full set of armor and use my vibroknuckler, my mind suffers... so I no longer own any armor and my vibroknuckler is on a quick key in case I'm feeling really frisky and wanna expend some mind. (I only recently found the beauty of the fishnak surpirse, but rarely ever have had cause to use it). I can pretty much take on anything I want... If there is no medic available I just avoid doing too many specials.

Without my vibroknuckler equipt I can use one special, one regular hit and my mind regens before I hit the next special.

I guess I have the same question that surfaced a few posts ago: What are you all doing with your minds that they are falling short of being enough? And if they aren't enough, perhaps you should nix some things you're currently doing, stat migrate or whatever... ??

Ok, I'm a Zabrak *cheers for all the lil Zabrak's* and a Master TKA. Now, would a change, for powerboost, such as the one I'm suggesting, be all that bad?

Ok, Med 2, we get powerboost. That takes half of your current mind, and over the course of a minute, it adds it to your Health, Action and Mind pools. S'all good.

Med 3, we get a second lvl of powerboost. This one, takes half of our current mind, blah blah blah, see above, and this time, adds it to your Health, Strength, Action, Quickness, Mind and Focus pools.

And, Med 4, (never used FoC once, don't want to cause of that bad re-use timer) we use powerboost, it adds to entire HAM pools, so, less HAM usage off specials, and faster regeneration.

Yes, the idea, needs to be tweaked, if it was ever to be applied, most likely, having to take from Focus and Willpower pools to give to Quickness and Strength (Focus pool) and Con and Stamina (Willpower pool)

The devs nefed the crap out of powerboost right? Is there any chance they will change it back?It seems like when they have something cool in the game they take it away.

I don't think they nerfed it. I believe they simply base the values of the increase off your base stats, not your buffed ones. It's still a pretty darn good thing to have, because it stacks with doc and spice buffs. I am seriously thinking of going TK Novice 2000 just to have power boost and access to vibro knucks.

Powerboost only effects your HAM

it has no effects on secondaries

Just clearing that up for whoever it was that thought you got a secondary buff
