Combo Attack - 115 damage (this makes NO SENSE, why less damage? Isn't this supposed to be an advanced damage attack?)



Also, Innate armor is working for me...not sure why its not working for a lot of you. Center of Being is NECESSARY. I was getting hit by some level 20 mob for 250 damage. I used center of being and was being hit for only 48-52 damage. This is what makes TKA a tank I believe.



Also, i'm sure others have posted about this...but does anybody know when Equilibrium for Zabraks may be fixed? It actually decreases your health now

i just got swg back only yesterday after a break of 6months, when i left i was master tka, and after spending the last day getting owned by npc on a 5K mission, i must say the change to tka sucks so bad, even 6 months ago icould solo squils on tatwithout buffor armor, here i can't even solo 2 level 50 npc's, squils were 10K missions back then. My cl is 55 and still tka master, i went 1 on 1 with a level 54 creature and won when naked, but anything more than 1 and i am just something for there dinner.


I read about the so called tka armor that allows u to tank damage by avoiding it lol but every npc no matter it's level can still hit me 95% of the time even when using COB, also FOW is also screwed as well, it ment to un incap u fast, yet it make the incap time about twice as long.


i hope they fix this soon within the 2 weeks i get to resec my skills, i would hate to have to give up tka as i like getting in close, but if i can;t hit anything up close i might after go comando or bounty hunter

Take the time to try out some new stuff to use with your TK skills, I'm TKM, MPIKE, MBrawler + some medic and FS melee speed and FS repair (yeah wth)it's working pretty good so far (yes FOW is broken right now).


For the innate armor thingy, MAKE SURE YOU DONT WEAR ANY ARMOR, that means no helmet nor glove or whatever. Get some Bio Clothes, they DO help.


The new system is great and no, you wont be able to solo everything now, it's like that. But you can solo high end stuff if you're well prepared (foods, buffs, macro for CoB, and so on)


Have fun with the respec take the time to testboth PvE and PvP (I wasntPvP'ing pre-CU, CU actually made me PvP)my timewith the respec is over, I'm happy with the template I got. I hope you'll learn to really appreciate the CU.

thx for the info but i was never a all combat char, i liked to build crap so got master artizan also, the reason i got master tka was because i was able to surive with it and make the good money, if i am not able to do a 5K missions with it then whats the point of it? like i said i was butt naked all i had was a pack and shorts on nothing more and i just managed to kill 1 level 54 creature, anything more than 1 and i get eaten. i know about bio clothes, not been able to solo anymore sucks i can understand not been able to go to dat and solo 33K missions now but unable to solo a standard 5K mission with master tka is just plain and utter BS. This tka armor crap is about as much use as a paper bag, i will try other master combat professions while i have the time, but i am not in the game for pure combat i like the other areas also, master tka covered all needed areas 6months ago for decent pvp and pve combat now i can't even solo a 5K mission.

Seems other then FOW and the low damage of Combo Attack everything else is working again.


Man I sure do mis my FOW. I have found some uses for it adding a good 45 secs to my incap time..If there are things still around me ill hit it so I dont stand right back up and get triple incap DB


Still there are more times I wouldrather have it work then to have it keep me down longer.

As a note to CoB complaints: You don't have to use an attack as your default action. Hold CTRL hit CoB. It is up most of the time for me, and having damage drop from 200-300 per hit to 75-97 per is just LOVELY. I use a Lunge or Knockdown to start combat, wait for CoB to land, and move away from the rest of the mobs to finish it off.



  • damage on Advanced Combo Attack seems very, very low. It isn't worth the pool points to use it.

  • I feel much slower, despite all kinds of evidence that indicates I'm fast. Examine a weapon and note base speed and our speed... looks fast, but it doesn't feel like it

  • I miss area attack. A couple swipes used to guarantee that all focus was on me, and now I can't hold the mobs still. With that attack and TK 1011 I felt more effective than I do now at 4344 (and only 25K to go, then my Master box)

I do note a lot of misses by mobs. I do feel like an avoidance tank. I just don't feel fast. The VK comments are valid. I had a 458 max VK that I loved, and my damage dropped to low 100s, with an occaisional high of 235 or so. I found a Blaster Fist made with Krayt tissues and a Nym's generator (??) that averages 350, with highs of 512. I suggest something happened to the way the combat engine 'sees' the VK, and it should be examined. I don't know how to go about it.


I'd like to see us become a dual weilding profession. Most pure TK are using nothing or a small one-handed weapon. I'd love to equip that VK in my off-hand, even it suffered a 2/3 speed a la EQ. though it doesn't have to, EQ2 has each hand using weapons at whatever speed they weapon is rated at. The resources exist within Sony to make this happen. I can dream....


All in all, I'm only a little bitter at the CU. I have TK4344, Dr3233 and some entertainer... which will slowly drop off the radar as I need the skill points. I resent being 'balanced' by having to take up 14 skill points in 2 handed weapons that I never use. If skill point balance was an issue, just make Novice TK box more expensive. At least I don't have this redundant unused set of skills. My CL is 63, and I'm soloing level 65 rebel missions. All said and done, I'm not too unhappy with TK.

i have to say TKM is great, only2 thing got me down about the profession, the lack of decent damage, swordsman has 1k hits rifleman has higher most classes but us can get 1k in a hit we are lucky to get 400+ with blaster knuckler.

Advanced Combo attack, does like 100 when normal attaqck 300 its a bit weird i hope they improve this which is pritty easy id say


i hear FoW isnt working but i havent tried cuase it either only a few second incap or i get instant killed like in Geo, DWB, Krayt etc.


the innate armour is amazing no armour decay and its as good if not better than most armour out there atm.


if they can fix the damage 100 or 200 more would be A LOT better, as well as making all the knucklers slightly better than just bare fist.

Ok, Force of Will Does NOT work. It adds time to incap.


Other than that, I have not had problems. Center of Being was a little problematic before, but today whenever I tried using it if I had Center of Being already in effect, the new "casting" simply refereshed the effect instead of failing to do anything and reseting my use timer, so good patch. Inate armor definatly works. I took less damage than a guild mate in good post CU assault armor, whenever we were fighting Banthas. That was without Center of Being (CoB). When I had CoB active, I took a LOT less.


I use no weapons. Blaster fist are certed for level 40. I am Master TK, Master Brawler, Master Smuggler. I have found that with no weapons equiped I do less damage per hit than any one else at level 80. This does cause a problem with creatures not staying on me as the "Tank", and taunt does not have a lingering effect, so most creatures leave me alone for others in my group hitting for more damage. However I also have not seen anyone else that attacks as fast as I do. Pistoleer might match us for speed, but I haven't grouped with one yet, so can not say. I can use a leg sweep or lunge and usualy KD anything! This includes level 86 "Jedi Quest" spawns and Krayt Dragons. Most creatures that are closer to my level, within 2 levels above, stay down a short time true, but in that time I can usualy layer a bleed, dizzy and CoB if I do not already have it up, or if I do have it up, use Melee Assault (master brawler) for good damage.


The combo attack appears to do less damage than a regular attack, but in fact it does this smaller damage in addition to a regular melee hit attack. Again, this is two seperate damages, which makes it hard for us to keep the "attention" of attacks focused on us, making "tanking" harder.


I have no problems at all Soloing level 82 creatures that con yellow for me. I have solo'd a level 85 "red con" and as expected it was difficult and very close, but I did not have any stims and did not use my smuggler skills, so It can be done. Soloing "white con" level 80 creatures is fairly standard fair, and I can even take one or two additional at the same time, though one on one is prefered.


Stimpack D's are your friend when you reach level 60, they can be made in excess of 1K healing and can be used by all level 60 or higher.


Power Boost is picky about terrain still, that needs to be fixed in addition to Force of Will which is completly broken. Center of Being requires you not move around when using, that is fine for PvE, but players tend to run around a lot (for some reason they don't like to stand still and get hit as much as the AI). Wouldn't call this a bug, but if it could be changed, it would be of more use.


Overall, I like my post CU TK, I have run into a lot of people on Tarquinas who have told me that TK got shafted (CU, post-CU, CURB, post-NERF) in the change, and many of them have changed their opinions after playing with me for a short while.

FoW was broken pre CURB, time to bin it and replace it with something useful.


Same grumbles as everyone else - VK's and Blasterfists do no additional damage and are completely useless atm. We are mitigating damage rather than evading damage as promised by the devs, same level creatures rarely I mean very rarely miss, but I miss much more regularly. Our attack speed and accuracy should be the best of all melee professions as we don't have any weapons or armour to slow us or hinder us.


COB you must be stoodstill to activate it- youcan't be running or walking or it doesn't stick.


Have now binnedbeing solely TKM and have startedgrinding pikes to dish out a bit more damage and speed up grinding XP for Jedi, pity cos I loved being sole TKM.
