Thread: (Read me before posting) Got a template question? Put it here!! Teräs Käsi Template Thread

I've been using a TKM/MDoc ( /Swords 0400, IIRC ) for the past few days, and they excel at survivability in PvE.
If I keep Center of Balance and Bacta Infusion active on my character at all times, I can pretty much garantee a win against two opponents of my level + 2 ( 82 ) solo. Against 3 ( level + 2 ) opponents, it's a battle I usually win unless I have bad luck. Against four or more( level + 2 ) opponents (solo), I can pretty much order the coffin, as they can usuallydeal out damage faster than I can avoid/heal it.
WARNING: my damage output is... questionable... to say the least. Perhaps more combat experience will teach me how to solve this problem, perhaps not. Combats can get quite long against multiple enemies.
I'll probably try another template or two, but I have a hard time believing that I'll find anything more generally useful both for solo and grouping than this combo. No real equipment requirements, high survivability, and I find myself frequently invited to groups for the healing capability.
My biggest complaint is that I can't deal out damage quickly enough in large group settings to keep opponent attention, and as a result am not as good of a tank as I might have thought.
I don't have any comment about PvP, as I don't do it.
You've got a taunt skill to hold them (when it works...)
I went with TKM and MBH, the other points thrown into entertainer for variety. I know, those points might be better spent in Commando,but sometimes it's nice just to hang out in thecantina and talk to people.
No, it's not the most uber template, but it's versatile. The main reason why I chose BH was for the credits. BH missions are incredibly easy, and it's really funy to go out and kill supposedly dangerous criminals while wearing a skimpy outfit. I mastered it for the level 80. After playing with it I found other advantages.
The weapon timer is gone, so I can swap my laser carbine (soon to be proton carbine) without much trouble. I can use it to draw out one mob at a time and add states while I'm at it. MBH gives me dizzy and stun (confusion shot), a bleed (torso shot),and blind (eye shot), as well as advanced crtitical shot to do some damage before it closes to melee range.
At melee range I unequip the gun and go TK. The defences, speed and accuracy are all better with MTK.
Note: you can use CoB before you equip a gun and it will stick.
I've got a n00b question. I left a while ago and came back recently to see what the CU was all about. I haven't seen any talk about TKM/MCH. Is it because its a bad idea? I've beenhappy as TKM/MCH since day 1. Am I gimping myself by not supporting my TK with other melee abilities? Or can I do ok teamed up with my rancors and kimos? Any insight would be a tremendous help. I'm, gonna log in and respec now to test a few things, but I would still like to know what others think.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE
BEST TEMPLATE - TRIPLE MASTERY
BRAWLER 4-4-4-0
TERAS KASI MASTER
SWORDSMAN MASTER
FENCER MASTER
and you are left with 4 unspent skill points (my personal choice is melee defense from enhanced reflexes) so here are some stats:
TKM - speed: 135, accuracy: 290; melee def: 320, ranged def: 245 (my favorite melee def. is 340 with enhanced reflexes)
SWM - speed: 140, acuracy: 315; melee def: 295, ranged def: 220 (take combat prowes melee speed you get152 speed.)
FNM - speed: 130, accuracy: 295; melee def: 285, ranged def: 210 (with examples abovewho need fencer)
Skills:
general melee accuracy: +205
general melee speed: +65
melee defense: +245
ranged defense: +170

Fencer is useless for tanking purposes. Its a hit&run dot profession. Pikeman's role in the CU is to be the next best tank and best melee crowd control profession.
Thanks to Master Brawler that template have the exact same stats as yours:
* General melee accuracy: +205
* General melee speed: +65
* Melee defense: +245
* Ranged defense: +170
Here's what you have:
Improved Sword Flurry (Who needs it when you have intimidate?)
Blinding Strike (Who needs it when you have intimidate?)
Improved Lounge (Basic lounge do its purpose just fine).
Berserk/Critical Strike (You dont need theese with Impale/Armor Break/Stun)
Improved Bleed (You are stuck with Bleed, which is good enough)
This is what youlack:
Intimidate, this halves the damage you take from your opponent. They can have a lightsaber if they like, and it wont help them.
Warcry, this is the only brawler queueing attack in the game. Queing rocks.
Impale, this is the highest damaging melee attack in the CU.
Stunning Blow,Stacks with Armor Break and really improve damage.
MsNiL : Your calculations are wrong. TKM/Pikeman/Brawler/0340SM/2000Fencer yields:
* General melee accuracy: +170 Wewa's:205
* General melee speed: +60 Wewa's:65
* Melee defense: +170 Wewa's:235
* Ranged defense: +120 Wewa's:170
All the #'s in red are LESS than the Wewa's proposed TKM/Swordsman Master/Fencer Master.
Your points about Intimidate, Warcry, Impale, Stunning Blow maybe make up for the lesser stats above - but I don't know. Do these additional specials make up for the differences?

HI everybody!
I have one question:
Is Medic necessary?
Really, has anybody tested this very much?
I am loving messing around with the respec, but here is my problem, with my current skills I can only get up combat level 57.
Rigth now I am:
TKM
MBrawler
Master Medic
Scout 4 0 0 0
I love it! But I was reading that with a high combat level, we can use decent instant-stims anyway. So, I was considering dumping Medic all together and using all those points to master another elite melee combat profession (I am addicted to melee at the moment).
Does anybody have good experience with this? Currently, I do very well fighting my level or slitghtly higher just using the bacta shot, heals for 300-400 each time and is all I need (of course, I am able to hit them pretty regularly). Are the stims used by non-medic comparable when at a high combat level?
Thanks for any help / advice. I can dump Medic now and test it, but I will still only be combat level 57, so I won't be able to know how well the higher meds work without somebody else telling me, which may be the deciding factor of whether I dump Medic to bump up my combat level.
Thanks very much for any help again!
I'm curious about this too. Do we need any medic skills after CU?

Thanks Starson. I /respeced last night to:
TKM / Master Brawler / Master Swordsman / Pikeman 0100 / Medic 1040
Maybe I won't need the medic.. ![]()
dropmedic like a bad habbit...
the heals are too slow and give you very little health back. its not a good use of your points. use stim d's instead, or grind up to doc 4000, which is VERY usefull.

I've been a Master CM from inception of the game and still really like it. I double mastered in that and Rifleman. After the CU, the two don't combine AT ALL. To use 3/4 of the CM capability, you have to be in Melee range. That doesn't cut it if your other Prof is Rifles. Also, as stated earlier in this thread, the CM heals don't do squat since peeps can use their own Stim D's. Also, the state debuff spells don't seem to do enough to matter against mobs.
So I tried TKM/Cm. Forget it -- if you don't have another Prof on board to support TKM, you're also screwed since just a TKM doesn't do enough offense to last out the MOB encounter. Sadly, I've just completely given up CM and joined the new world order. I'm really likeing TKM + Commando + Brawler combinations plus anything else I pickup. I've been experimenting like crazy and the single greatest thing about TKM is you never have to buy armor. Now my goal in the game is to never have to buy anything again and totally quit harvesting and working for a living. Just goout and KILL, KILL, KILL (kill IMP's too :-)
