Yes and No.

"Yes" to "balance" out the game more.

"No" because of realism.

Final Answer: "Yes"

Yes please.

Chasing npcs is so irritating I've stopped taking faction missions.

just for the sake of hitting almost dead mobs, I gotta say yes. For PvP, i would rather take better defenses against special attacks.

The only tweak I would like to see to unarmed lunge 1 and 2 is that our character should actually do a lunging motion instead of standing in place. As it is, our characters somehow connect with these attacks while remaining 15m away. It would make more sense and solve some of the kiting issue if these attacks put our character next to our target at the end of this move.

Also, the lunge move can be exploited against certain mobs who don't have a ranged attack.

Fixing the lunge moves as i have described seems to solve alot of problems.

When was the last time you raced someone? Get your friend to equip his pistol/rifle and both of you run for the same tree in the distance. You will beat him; at least I always do.

What we need is the ability to KNOW when we are close or far from a target and what direction to run to get closer. The inaccuracy between the drawn position of an enemy and the actual position of the enemy results in a good many "out of range" messages that are in truth not deserved.

I especially hate the LARGE monsters that measure distance from their middle point, and are ALWAYS moving to put you out of range for your VKs.

We only need a /stick sorta command if they can't fix these problems. Adding the /stick sorta thing would be unfair to ranged classes. They have it bad enough with Radar, autotargeting, and tab to target. There is no such thing as hiding or getting off a shot and not having the target know who shot them.

So my vote: YES for /stick (only if they cannot fix the proximity problems).

No way. That would completely imbalance melee with the ranged. If they can't kite, how are they supposed to kill us? We can buff ourselves, that gives us more time to get there. We can simple not chase someone that's running away from us. There's a bunch of anti-kiting things we can do that have no in-game skills, but just some basic intelligence on our part. If we have anti-kiting skills, how would we lose?

Several people on this thread mention a notion called 'realism'. Forget about it in a mmorpg, and remember that a typical firearm shot is either a one shot kill or a shot that wounds you so badly you're unable to walk. In SWG, realism is already largely tweaked in favor of brawler. Asking for more realism is asking for a self nerf. I'd avoid doing it myself.

And for the question, 'no', because beeing able to deal with ranged combat is the marksman ability. Destroying people at close range is/should be the brawler's.

This reminds me of my days in Dark Age of Camelot. I played a warrior. But, it took some thought to play a warrior in a world of casters. I haven't started to pvp yet, but my advice as a tka is to never enter battle alone unless you're indoors. You need all the distraction you can get to close range with those nasty ranged fighters. Once you're there, it'sa done deal. Bonus points if you can flank your opponents so they never even see you coming.
