Yeah, those nyms would be a lot easier if not for the other inhabitants of lok

I have explore 4 which makes masked scent semi-effective for getting around unoticed. Also since the patch 3 out of 4 nyms camps have aggro mobs right next to them for some reason. Before i dropped rifle skill I'd use a bleedshot then quickly unequip rifle and wait. After about 10 seconds the nym will come charging you, if you made sure to unequip rifle they'll be in melee mode so your safe till they get to you.

Now i use a grand wrix to pull them out if need be, he can handle the fire while luring the nym far enough from the aggros to fight.

There are still a lot of camps to be found with no red mobs around them though. Hope that helps.

Easy way to make lots of cash on Nyms. Solo, with no pets. I have well over a million credits now due to this, and no I don't belive it's exploting.

1- get mission

2- go to mission (if you can't get to it then expand your radar out to 128 at least the reds are easy to get around)

3- find the weakest nym, usualy a brawler.

4- attack the brawler, watch the other nyms run in fear.

5- zoom radar to 64, if you see any other nyms in that area while fighting run out to him. you will notice he will run away.

6- once you have them all out of range, this really only takes a few seconds, finish off the nym

7- attack the lair, the other are to far out of range to agro you

8- collect your 16k credits and wait a couple days till nyms become agro.

Couple things, I am master level TKA, I found out this works when I was killing these lairs for 5k...seeing as I don't need exp anymore, I use the just attack one method. You'll see it works rather well.

That is all.

I totally agree, people will whinge, nothin we can do about it. We can help those who enjoy tka enjoy it more.

On nym's, uber money, uber xp, pain in the ass. Handling outside agro shouln't be too hard for you guys now seeing as how long the game has been out, the pain is on the stronger nyms.

They have armor 2 and if they style, can hit for over 1.5k damage. Even the weaker ones can style for upwards of 700, mind you I don't wear armor. The only tip for them is take it like a man (just a saying =P) and get back on the horse.

Medic abilities are priceless just for downtime. I don't heal in battle, but after I use stimmies to get me back up fast, the first teir of healing heals for anywhere between 50 and 150, stimpack A's are extremely cheap. 8 organic/inorganic and you can use a generic crafting tool. Even if you drop it later it will make lvling far easier.

"You can't just bring the old "party" mentality to it..."

Old mentality? Solo is by far much older and more tired than thegroup mentality. "I wanna be uber man super powerful!!!" When I hear idiots whining that they cant solo AT-STs anymore, its just rediculous. This isnt star wars, your not luke skywalker or han solo with 20k HAM. You're just a commoner living in thier universe. Anything you do wont make a difference in the GCW, and you are not special. Thats what this genre brings to you. You talk of small 2-3 person groups, I can buy that, but hey, these people are upset that they can't solo as good as they once did. In a 2-3 person group, melees are still useful, and thats the triple truth.

"Noone likes a leveling treadmill..."

And you are playing SWG because? This game IS a leveling treadmill. The only difference is that you don't need a 6 person group with specific class/roles to do anything in this game. Even after the nerf.

Like the TK Master said above, it's not really an issue with fighting things solo, it's the friggin adds. There is some high level content where adds are unavoidable and their friggin knockdown resists were already through the roof. In these encounters we are pretty much SOL. There is no way we can tank and control these high level resistant mobs with knockdown.

As we speak I just killed a Mauler Master, which is a red con "non-creature" with an armor of "light". It was a tough fight, and one mistake could be fatal. I don't have a problem with that per se. I can't speak for everyone else, but the way I played my character was as a big game hunter. I loved bringing Endorian Wooly Hides to the vendors. This change has pretty much crippled my ability to hunt high level creatures. The impact on non-creatures is smaller because they are more affected by dizzy + knockdown.

Well, you might say I could just try and find like-minded people who want to hunt for hides. Perhaps this is what the developers intended. The problem is whenever you take THAT much power away from a class you should at least offer a damned explanation. Flat out tell us, "You were playing the game in God Mode, and we put a stop to it".

There were already benefits to grouping. You could kill faster, and by that token earn more overall xp / loot / resources. I was content to take my slower pace, but still have a viable way of contributing to the economy. It was FUN! Now I have to look for a group, which due to my play-times can be very difficult. I thought this game was supposed to be different than EQ. My char is already gated on Unarmed XP (900,000) and has almost 250,000 excess combat xp. Not much point in XP hunting, like you said - but I felt I filled a purpose in the role I chose.

The fact is that Knockdown is an extremely powerful ability that is essential in the high-end npc game. A blanket HAM increase was fine for the lower level stuff, but imho has damaged a lot of the high end content.

Pyradius, nice post, and I agree with the sentiments. Taking them further, what we really need to be trying to get the devs to do is make us worthy tanks. Bringing back KD to even old pre nerf levels will not do that, and all melee will still suffer from lack of utility in high end content ( think Kimos, darkjedi etchere ). Fact of the matter is, we as melee are going to be the only ones that need to fight at close range in these encounters, and the game design as is just isnt sufficient for that kind of stuff, even if KD was unerfed. You would still be dead in one hit and pretty much useless.

I don't think people have a problem with her saying that she is having fun, it's just the fact that she has been pretty venomous in recent posts. I agree to an extent that all of these topics probably won't help us much, but she was being quite condescending, even though she was being hypocritical.

Doesn't it make you soooo proud, Selwynn. A post lifting you up and supporting you has become one of THE most read posts on our forum... Then again, maybe people just get curious about the post's title.

That's absurd. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about, whatsoever. If you're only considering the last five or seven years, you're badly mistaken. RPG's as wecurrently know themhave been around for over 25 years. At that time, there were very few, if any, solo opportunities. RPG's started as a social phenomenon.

Its not obsurd considering im talking about computer game rpgs, which have definately NOT been a social phenom. Gee did you play with 100s of people in dragon warrior, final fantasy, and the like? How about fallout etc. No, most definately not. I'm talking about the less broad genre of computer game RPGs. You can talk about DnD or whatever you played back in the 70s-80s, but thats kind of a red herring here.
