Seriously guys, what are you trying to accomplish?
Fly's just trying to raise the morale of other TKA's and give them some understanding for those who don't have the sense to look at the skill descriptions(which are vague and sometimes wrong). Attacking him won't prove anything, and will ONLY accomplish harsh feelings and negativity. It's one thing to get onto a moaner that just wants attention cause he's "quitting and that's final cause they messed up my profession!" and it's another to attack a person who's singing the praises of the class that he likes.
Everyone has their own experiences and perhaps yours have been negative...they certainly seem to be...but Fly's have been positive as have many others posting here including me. I rule PvP on my server man...not because others are bad at what they do, but because I'm good at TK. Apparently, so is Fly.
Some guy steps up and says "Hey, this is fun, it's nice" and the two of you verbally (textually actually) beat him down. That's just stupid and mean. Come to Radiant, Coronet area...I'll show you what a TK with the proper backup professions and a head full of strategy can do...to you.
I agree with eXe here....Stupidfly, just let 'em go.You made a very good post about why your TKM makes you happy, and how powerful you see your character is. I agree. I ALSO agree about there needing to be more positive posts on this forum.
If there are people who want to say that TKAs are terrible because class "X" can do this amount of damage in this situation, and this is "Y" more damage then we can do in the same situation, so that must mean we are gimped, let 'em go. The more you argue with them, the more they will flock to this thread and drag it down into flame wars. Let 'em go. We need more threads like this one and it would be a shame if every one were brought down to flame wars and us being "Holocronites" or whatever, just because we enjoy our proffession, and the game itself.
Could you please tell me what profesions you have to compliment your TKA?

The attitude you've been representing here is exactly the same attitude that I think you mean when you refer to sounding "more like me." No one gives a **edit** who you are. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. (I love that line.)
You are atriculate and I appriecate you giving your articulate opinion. You are a master so you have some knoweldge of your character - just like about 55 other posters here, including me now. You have a good grasp of the game mechancis, and we appreciate hearing your opinions on that - right up to the point where you start acting like an **edit**. So Mr. Pot before going around calling me black, just back off and count to ten, and remember that I've really done nothing but try to be supportive and constructive since the last patch. I'm more than paid my pennance for my past sins of my former bad attitude - time for you to pay yours.

Let me ask you, what is this post trying to accomplish by pointing out the obviousness of our skills? I'm sorry, but this post is academic at best and does not deal with reality. I don't want people reading this post and simply thinking we're magically okay because some idiot cheerleader thinks so. Yes, some of us are successful against foolish opponents, that does not mean we're okay.
Ok, I'll jump back in even though I told myself I wasn't going to feed the trolls...
Stupiflys post was there because 95% of the posts on this board are negative and he wanted to express that he was happy with his TKA. Period. I don't think he intended to hurt anyone's feelings about him being happy, he was just sharing with us that he was happy. Why is this a big deal? Because there is a misconception going around now about TKAs being "gimped," and Stupidfly was just saying "not really."
I agree with Stupidfly. TKAs are fine. We need some tweaking here and there, but that's about it. Face it, the days of us taking down reds with KD spam are over. We are much more in line with where we should be PvE.
PvP? I think we are also fine, and agree with the people who say to pick our targets. In SWG there are 3 types of PvP: 1 on 1, group vs. group and guild vs. guild (meaning more then 1 group on each side against each other.) Now, with this said, in 1 on 1 we are at a disadvantage. We all know the outcome of getting kited around during a duel. Group vs. group we do better. With a coordinated group, the ranged users can posture change while we sprint in to the damage. We work much much better with ranged support while we run into the fray. Now during Guild vs. guild PvP we shine. When there are tons of combatants on either side and the "tab" targeting is going on, we can rip through the ranged users who have their attention elsewhere.
Hope this helps with the reasoning behind Stupidlfy's post and also saves this one from being locked for flaming. It would be shame for a positive post to be shut down just for a couple of negative comments...;(
What Selwynn and Stupidfly are both guilty of is being narrow-minded, and generally ignorant(as in unknowledgable, not stupid). You're right, there are a half trillion TKM's, including Selwynn, Stupidfly, and myself. BUT, if you read my posts I *NEVER* assume anything. My posts are generally:
I am a TKM, I can do such and such, I can't do such and such, and I am inferior/superior to such and such.
I am a rifleman, I can do such and such, I can't do such and such, and I am inferior/superior to such and such.
Etc. Etc.
Fact of the matter is, I have the credentials to say what I say, whereas neither of you do. Stupidfly is telling me Master Riflemen can't take 5 baz or whatever, Selwynn is telling me that TKM's can tank anything in the game with the right tactics or whatever, and Ehogack is telling me that TKM's are balanced in PvP.
I've payed my dues, and I can speak freely on the issues that I KNOW ABOUT. I make points, points based off facts. Not assumptions, not even well-educated guesses. Don't flame me.
See, this is good...back to discussion. High_on_Bread, you say that we are one of the most eneffective classes in the game, yet me have OTHER melee proffessions posting here how we are so much better then they are. And if you lurk around their forums some, we are generallyseen as the best of all meleers.
So, bringing it back to the Topic Title, you disagree with Stupidlfy - You don't love your TKM. But why? You've mentioned that Riflemen can do more damage and mindshot is one of (if not the best) attack in the game. But why, in your opinion, does TKA suck? Based on the feedback from other meleers, would you see the balance of Power inweapon classes in SWG as this:
Rifleman - Pistoleers - Carbine - TKA - Pikeman - 2H Sword - 1H Sword?
How about everyone else, if there are any lurkers from other proffessions (BH, SL and Commando left out...this is just straight up weapon classes....)?
Ya tka is cool, i picked it up this week and like it. However i do get pissed when i blue mob takes me down and even white ones. We really need more hit points, everyone does the devx 75% dmg reduction in pvp should have been a hint. Why not raise ham up to 4k? would balance both pvp and pve better.
Anyway, i had a fight before the nerf we raided bestine and the group got separate so me, not tka at the time, and a tka guy end up on our own. So be troll the outskirts for imps coming back form missions with tef from shooting rebs. Well to put it mildly we smoked them, about 25 - 30 in a half hour taking 4-6 at a time and throw in a few pets. The key was this i'd pin the imps with supresion or underarm, in my shamefilled bh days, and the tka crushed them, it was funny. getting 400 dmg shots in every 2 secs wakes the enemies up most fled and then i'd pin one and the tka would move on. good times good times
Melee professions in general areineffective but the how we sit in melee is probably something more like this:
Swordsman->TKA->Fencer->Pikeman
Reasoning being KD was our real advatnage against swordsman, and it's been effectively nerfed. Swordsman have MUCH higher damage than we do, and attack the mind pool.
Fencers aren't too far behind, but don't have the damage output that we do anymore.
Pikemen are the worst, being that they are a profession built around an effectively nerfed skill(KD/posture change, which almost all of their attacks do).

Exactly what are these credentials? Previous posts are not credentials. Posting that you can shoot for 347 damage in the second skill tree of rifle is not a credential.
I hate to tell you but everyones opinion can be right. Playstyles vary so much from player to player (as do profression combos). Just because you can't do it and/or don't like it doesn't make it false. For you to state otherwise, especially in such and all knowing-condescending way only shows how narrow-minded you are.
