Thread: Publish 7 features as they affect us
Its still amazes me how many people have read the Dev's post and yet still dont understand that STACKINGworks and is NOT being changed.
Stacking has nothing to due with a Cap limit. You may stack skills up to the Cap limit wich may be 125, it does notget any simpler folks.
Please go to stickied "In game knowledge base" thread and agree that we need a complete skill mechanics breakdown listed in the in game Holocron.

Sorry, dodging is dodging, whether you're holding a pistol or whatever.
Each melee profession is known for certain things, and each ranged profession is also known for certain things.
"You want big defense, be a fencer." "You wantbig damage but low defense, be a swordsman"
Translate this to:
"You want BEST defense, be a MASTER fencer." "You want HIGHEST melee damage but low defense, be a MASTER swordsman"
This logic makes sense.
This was the reason why the CH profession was "evened out" where they spread the bonuses across all the trees. Instead of just going up to a 3200 CH (and getting a 75% kinetic resist creautre with 9400 HAM), you actually have to go up a few more levels to get the best creatures. This was deemed a good thing by those who actually liked playing the profession, anda bad thing for those who just wanted to get max benefit for minimum profession commitment.
What do you get by dabbling then? You get specials, for the most part. Most people I know who dabble want to dabble for the specials, such as dabbling in smuggler for the pistols line of specials, or dabbling in TKA just for powerboost. That's all well and good, and in-line with the spirit of the skillpoint system.
The bottom line is that generalists (jack of all trades, dabblers) should not outclass masters in their particular areas of strength. They should trade variety for maximum effectiveness. Spreading the defenses out would solve this particular issue. THEN there would be no need to hard-cap any defenses at all.
Theyshould also think about spreading out the offensive bonuses too, but upping their maximum effectiveness for each box. Same result on the offense side.

So warcry is going to be useless. Crowd control my rear. By the time we rush an enemy we are aggro'd before we get into warcry range. So they're already attacking= no warcy. This is BS, just remove it, don't blow smoke up our arse.
Damn I hope the cap's not 125. There would effectively be no use in wasting skillpoints on dual combat professions.
Just master 1 profession and stack the BE clothes. You think buffs are high now, just wait till the demand for enhance d's is 400% of the supply. We will all be praying for a doc that will charge only 10K for a set of buffs.
ALL professions should not be equal, plain and simple.
You misunderstand. If THEY are attacking you can Warcry them to delay them like usual. But if YOU hit them while they are delayed it will break the effect. So basically it will be a tool to buy yourself time to retreat or whatever.

The effect of the Brawler Warcry special has been modified to temporarily freeze enemies that are not being attacked, instead of pinning a single target - More along the lines of crowd control rather than a dueling tool.
It already has this effect. They are simply taking it away from delaying the target your presently attacking and allowing it to only work on your targets friends. This will allow you to attack one aggro beast while his two friends are delayed for 10-20 seconds. I don't see how this can be too useful in PvP unless it will not allow you to be attacked by anyone in your Warcry range.
They had better increase the distance, modifiers and change the cone to radius for this unneccesary change to evenremotely be useful.
I think this change is good. It's not right to be able to attack someone while they are unable to fight back. In pve it is considered exploiting to do so,why not pvp? I'm a BH andIKD/Dizzy people, but I believe this needs to be done away with as well. It is pretty cheesy to be able to knock someone down and then totally destroy them because they can't get up. I have no problem with KD,but Dizzy needs to be taken out of pvp.

I beleave this cap is to include Melee/Ranged and I would imagine they make the caps of KD resist even lower than 100 so that nobody is immune. If you think back to what Thunderheart said about people being unhittable.. the reason they were becoming near unhittable wasnt b/c of Dodge it was b/c of the insanely high Melee and Ranged def. If you dont think that then fight a Rifleman stacker they have no dodge and your hits will be few and far between.Message Edited by VikaLine on 02-22-2004 03:56 PM
No one is immune to KD, devs have stated that even if you have very high resists to KD, the KD attacks still have a 10% chance to KD. I can confirm this, as I am tkm/mfencer/mswordsman and use defense vs KD food, I still get KD ocassionaly, its a rare occurence but it does happen.

I just dropped Master Brawler and Fencer so I could pick up Commando and whine that my flamethrower isn't killing people fast enough. Hehe.
Damn, and I had a sweet TKM template.

I would like someone to explain to me how you can eat food and become more resistant to being knocked down? I suppose if you become a butter-ball where instead of getting knocked down you simply role backwards in a complete circle back to your feet again, and your appearance changes to that of a basketball with little arms and legs holding a rifle. Does this not sound stupid to anyone? I understand having things with bonuses for Chef's to make, but lets at least have it make sense. Seriously though... when was the last time you went out drinking Brandy in order to improve your focus? DUH SOE! Add some ginsing cupcakes or something for that!
