I agree with the majority of the issues you brought up. However I don't see why /stick didn't make it into the requests. Every brawler derrived class has asked for this and we've been ignored. We need to make sure that request gets implemented. /stick solves our "out of range" messages which we recieve oh so often.

.........

Thunder, I do not believe you are going to like the response you get from the Developers.

the devs attitude of "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" makes me sick. As I mentioned in another thread, yes it is a plausible statement to make, if you have two gang bangers going head on with a knife and a gun. The guy with a gun is going to win.

But we're talking about expert or even master Martial Artists.... (Teras Kasi Artists) going up against a guy with a gun. This isn't a friggin street brawl with knife vs. gun. The statement "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" is irrelevant when you are considering a fight between a MASTER martial artist and a guy with a gun. Unfortunately, not many people think that way, and the devs certainly don't think that way. I've seen what can happen, and from my experiences I would never consider pointing a gun at a master unless I had a death wish.

TW I'll give you this;

If nothing changes, it wasn't from lack of trying on your part. Good job.

i think is a good time to ask for this. they screwed us hard core with this nerf patch, and now they have to make it up to us. this would be the perfect apology

I think your "pet" issue is really one of the most important. Knockdown wouldn't be as big a deal if we could take hits in combat (yeah I know the nerf is insane, without knucklers it takes 70 mind to use in addition to the exorbitant action costs). One way would be to make unarmed toughness work on reducing ranged damage and not just melee damage. We also really need a way to catch ranged. Hell even storm troopers can kite. And this crap about "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight"??? what is that? a quote from the old west right? But hey I am sure the guy that came up with the quote meant to include vibro weapons This game is built in the Star Wars universe where someone that was going to be melee would realize they need a way to be effective in range combat. We shouldn't have to work on ranged combat classes just to be effective as a melee fighter.

Well stated TW, thanks for voicing our major concerns.

I'd like to put an end to this, "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" crap I keep hearing.

In many states, and in this example I am going to use Colorado one, since they were recently int he national news for this very situation, there is a standard by which a well trained alert police officer with a loaded holstered pistol is SUPPOSED to use deadly force and shoot to kill an assailant with a knife or any edged weapon WHO IS WITHIN 21 FEET and is determined to be threatening.

This code was brought tp fruition through EXTENSIVE research, as it has been determined that within 21 feet (7m) the assailant can cause a deadly blow with an edged weapon BEFORE THE OFFICER HAS A CHANCE TO USE HIS FIREARM.

We are not talking about a person trained in edged weapons....the studies were done with average criminals, most of which have never had to use their weapons for a purpose other than to intimidate.

An officer shot a suspect and there wasa publicdebate over the details of the incident, butinitially the department stood behind the action of its officer because among other reasons the suspect was within 21 feet of the officer brandishing a large kitchen knife and it had been reported that earlier threatened a member of his household with it. I dont know the status of the case now but this dont bring a knife crap is a quip from a stupid movie or something someone famous said once, and is not based in reality.

Good job and good list. I don't think they'll do anything about it, but still, it's what all of us have asked for since launch.
