I love it when you people one star the truth! If you can't face the facts, post something, don't one star and not say why.

I agree with you. God, where were you 8 months ago when everyone here was flaming me?

I don't think that it's the most powerfull profession now. Combat medic is, sadly, the most powerfull. Back before buffs though...the extra ham from powerboost, low ham/high dam/high acc/precision attacks rapped everything. With the buff nerf and the new knucks we'll be a lot stronger than we are now though.

I think both of you are saying something that is partially true, but not completely. Let me explain though.

Currently we are a very strong profession. We are not, however, "the most incredibly powerful profession" in the game. If you look at each profession in its pure form (meaning taking a character that has no skills other than the required skills and mastery of the respective profession) then you will find that Swordsmen, Riflemen, TKs, CMs, and Bounty Hunters (when played tactically, so this one is semi-debatable) are all very strong professions. Fencers do very well on their own as well due to their high defenses, but that isn't an easy comparison. The reason we are viewed as being so much stronger, however, is strictly because with our damage output we also have nice defenses.

If you really want I can take the time to compare numbers and experiences, but in all honesty I do not feel it to be a productive discussion. The point you are trying to make about us being the most powerful is not true, yet does have some fact to it. We are a strong, stable profession. We are not the most powerful.

Well I think the "nice defenes' is a little one-sided as far as the ratio between melee/ranged and state/kd. We have really great melee defense and average ranged, but our state defensereally is laughable. I think it's ironic that we're the biggest suckers for what's widely considered to be our ace-in-the-hole attack, kd2. What with us having only 5 dizzy defense. Really, they might as well have only given us 0. I've always had to dabble in either fencer or pistoleer just to keep from losing fights because I'm on my back the entire time.

Damage output is great. It can be difficult against high ken armor in pvp but high damage knucks can solve that sometimes.

Personally I consider the profession a pushover in it's "pure" form. Yesterday I bumped into an overt tkm with no other mods besides tkm and his buffs/composite. No obvious ones anyway, he only had the tkm badge. I kd2'd him and started wailing on him with my low ham 80 dam vk, because my 195 ones take around 190 ham which is like a pikeman drain. I wasn't dong anything because of the armor so I pulled out my geo and walked back about 15 meters and last ditched the guy in about 10 seconds. 10 seconds, just because the guy was on his back the entire time.

So while tkm may have a great ammount of offensive powerin most situations, the low state defense to nearly everything really kills the profession in it's pure form.

I don't want to be an ubber God who's profession gets whored by everyone, but some nicer defenses would be a great gift to go with the new knuck when the CU gets here. 10 more kd def would put us at 30, and 30 more dizzy defense would put us at 35. Does 30/35 kd/dizzy def sound ilke a balanced set? Personally I wouldn't mind giving up some of my "ubber" melee defense for better state.

Funny, as a TKM I don't FEEL all powerful when ANY ranged character Kites me and can do continuous damage while all I can do is run and TRY to catch them to do my damage.

Yes, up close and personal in a stand up slugfest, TK are pretty dang powerful. But all powerful? Hmm - I see ranged weapons all over the place with 1000+ max damage (Not counting any bonuses from mastering the weapon).. Where are the 1000 Max Damage VKs? Answer: There are none, because THAT is one way the Devs HAVE limited TK, to keep it from being All Powerful.

Wanna know what *I* think is the MOST Powerful profession in the game? Armorsmith.

Think about it. LOL

lol. AS, definately. Oh, and the only ranged guys who can really kite well is Riflemen. Pistoleers suck at more than 20 feet and Carbineers, well, I don't really have to say it do I (no offense cabineers )

What I find most funny is I can solo dang near anything on the planet...except Mokk rockshapers cause they're 100% kin resist. HELLO..DEV'S..you out there? This thing on?

I don't want some "uber" thing..just a vibro that deals a different type damage or I'd even settle for some of the special attacks to deal different type damage. Throw me a bone.

I'm going to try unstickying this one for a bit, as our stickies are starting to grow large again. It is linked in the Info Thread stickied above though. I may create a thread that links all of the "Compilation Threads" if it becomes necessary, but we'll see.
