things are going to be rearranged and upside down i dont remember but wasnt blind a tka skill? its now a brawler skill

im not real sure on the effect knockdown will have on us after this patch because im too low on the test server to actually test it

im sorry if i sound ungrateful to thunderwulf

but a ranged question really was reaching... and not very realistic to where our profession is concerned.. we are melee with many skill points left over after mastery.. get a gun if you want a ranged attack period.. i did it and so should you you will find levelling up in pistoleer very easy with all the melee defences you have and with knockdown you can knockdown the mob whip out the gun fire.. do a few specials put the gun away then do it again

my major concern for this class was and still is attacking while moving

when this is fixed you will see that you wont be the laughing stock of the combat classes anylonger

you will see that someone that starts a ruckus with you at five meters will stay within five meters while you pound his sorry kiting azz senseless..

as far as pvp in the battlefield dont expect to be dodging lasers and doing ungodly acts of anything just expect to be holed and dead untill you realize that tka is not the only thing you can do to stop this

As far as PvP & TKAs go, today Raph Koster summed it up in one sentence saying "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight."

There are two things I would like to see.

1. That fat stupid **edit** hit the broad side of a barn from 60 meters with a .22 revolver while running as fast as he can and shooting over his shoulder.

2. That fat stupid **edit** stand toe to toe with an acomplished ultimate fighter with any kind of firearm and try to win, get away, or do anything but be disarmed and have his head stomped into the ground in about half a second.

Great, so VK's are going to get cert'ed, but not changed, and for all we know the HAM expirmentation still won't work

I don't want to just complain, so I do have some positive input:

On the list of special moves that do nothing, I saw mostly brawler moves? **edit**? This is Tera Kasi Issues, not Brawler Issues.

Unarmed Combo 1 does 1 point of damage. 1 point. This has got to be a bug. I hope it's a bug at least. And what about when you lunge someone and they just slide across the screen on their knees/back.

Special moves should not be chained together? If any profession SHOULD be chaining special moves together, its Tera Kasi. Go watch a boxing match - it's all combo's, setups, and different types of punches. This may be a bad example, but we are fighting with our bodies, and I would like to think we are a little more clever then just doing the same stupid kick/slap move over and over.

Maybe I'm just a cry-baby.

I am not saying that the issues with TKA's should not be fixed...

And I am not by any means saying that this was NOT the most pathetic waste of waiting time that has ever occured in the history of waiting and anticipation... but..

Stop whining and complaining so much... Really. If you hate it that much, just pick a different profession. When I play the game, I go out in PvE and solo things that are white and yellow to me, and red too if I have the stimpacks. That is plenty fine with me.

If you are desperately concerned with being able to get exp the fastest and being able to solo the biggest and baddest mobs, then you shouldn't be a meleer. Pick a cheese class like Bounty Hunter. If you are desperately concerned with being the biggest and baddest PvPer on the block, and you never want to lose ever... Surrender your TKA skills and use your combat exp that you have saved up to get a cheese class... Bounty Hunter.

The devs will fix things as they come, you cant make some huge patch to fix TKAs or it will just overcorrect and make them too powerful. KD will be just fine, do it the same as you always have, take off the VK, knock them down, kick their ass...

I don't mind being a powerful class who has to earn their rewards by working hard. I don't mind having to make special plans to distract rebels so I can get behind them and knock their asses down. I don't mind un-equipping my VK to knockdown so that I don't have the huge HAM costs.

If you don't want to do any hard work, want to be the biggest baddest guy on the block, sit in your throne, knockdown every other player, kill them in two hits with an extremely fast weapon while taking 0 HAM costs and siccing your gurreck on them... Well, Verant included just the cheese for you: Bounty Hunter.

Get the drift?

You don't need to make a big deal about their pathetic responses

We all know that the devs are complete baffoons when it comes to balance issues, and that they don't give a hoot about brawler elites at all.

What can you do? Just deal with it.

Cheers.

They better at LEAST look over the responses to every designer thread and give an updated (maybe even better) response.

i've been poking around other forums seeing how the Devs have catered to the different classes and...

Hmmm...it seems that the Dev team thinks the idea of GIVING PISTOLEERS DUAL WIELD is a great idea!

Comments?

Should this affect weather or not TKA's get a "quadruple wield" effect for having 2 fists and 2 feet?

I think the more reasonable idea is wielding two vibro knucklers.

Lol, we are not supposed to spam special moves, but hey every fighter in the world just uses one special move, and then straight punches and kicks over and over and over right..........SARCASM.

I was a master marksmen before I dropped it. I could spam body shot all freaking day long.

I fI wanted to do normal unarmed attacks and not spam special moves I would have stayed the crappy broken unarmed brawler instead of going TKA

Here is the response to the Brawler forum, which does address some issues relevant to TKA's. Specifically hitting while moving, range modifiers, and using terrain and buildings as cover (which could significantly help our chances in PvP).

Big thanks to Spaz_Hairlip for compiling these issues. Here are the designers’ responses to the top 5 issues (option 6th is the Correspondent’s pet issue). We have 32 professions to get through so we apologize for the brevity of the answers.

1) HAM Costs – Special moves seem to cost too much. Most attacks from other things cost less than the current special moves.

We’ve increased one handed and unarmed, which should help here.

2) Special Moves – Most special moves seem to fail too often. When they do succeed, they appear to do very little to benefit.

We’re going to add more details to special moves so you know exactly what they all do. We’ll also verify the failure rates to make sure they are reasonable.

3) Defense – Brawlers would like to be able to dodge, parry, and block because they feel they are the tanks of most battles.

This is something we’ll have a follow up post on. It’ll explain a little more the role of the brawler and his skills. Expect this in the next few days.

4) Accuracy and Hitting While Moving – Brawlers receive a –5 combat to hit modifier when in optimum range. They are also the only class that can’t hit while moving.

There might be a problem with NPC ranges between the client and server. This is something we’ll look into.

5) Attacks Through Geometry – Currently, brawlers are unable to use the terrain to their advantage. Mobs and NPCs just shoot through the terrain to hit them.

We’re fixing the terrain issue, walls should block shots in the coming update.

6) Vibro Knuckles – Novice brawlers at the beginning of their skill tree can use these. It’s the same as giving the other professions the best weapon right away.

This should be changed very soon.
