I would like to know how the devs justify heat damage on a bladed weapon. Is it a knife or a hot comb??

hey now, heat dmg is just a start i bet.


at least we got another dmg type, granted it's as high of a resist as kinetic in SOME aspects, but not in all.

Exactly, how in the hell is a spike gonna do heat damage? Well, I guess its SOE we are talking about so who knows their logic. /shrug

Easiest way to explain heat would be to say that in a weapon this small such a powerful Vibro unit acts almost like a heating element as well. But who cares how it is explained... I havent figured out acid or cold damage yet either. Point is they are using these damage types so that everything can havea weakness and when you go armor shopping you are not looking at 3-4 stats but more like what 8? I guess I am off to hunt til I drop now lol I need the money if I ever want a pair...

St.Gabriel, are you a TKM as well as swordsman? If so I would like to know why youre not certified for the new weapon. If youre not a TKM I would like to know where the certification is in the TK tree.

Heat damage? Ok, so don't go using that on Rancors but I suppose this is better than nothing. Too bad they're almost impossible to make so on the whole this doesn't really benefit the profession all that much. Nice to see they did at least add something for us.

Right now, we don't know where the cert is. I am one box away from TKM. This will help a bit with the higher level dungeons. Now I can do more then meat shield!

I haven't transferred the weapon over to my Teras Kasi character yet. The character holding it for the screenshot is my weaponsmith. I know that there are bugs with the Executioner's Hack and so I'll get this looked at.

The unique abilities of TKA were balanced by the serious crutch of kinetic only damage. Now that you have all the special abilities of TKA AND multiple damage types I wonder what will be done to balance out the other 3 melee professions.


With these devs though I will not hold my breath.

On a less serious note... only in this game would the unarmed class get a new weapon. Heh.

The new weapon looks incredibly cool. I will definately pick one up. The second damage type is a great thing. I don't understand the heat part, but ANY other damage type is a bonus.


-By the way, Acid damage is in place of disintigration, like certain rifles dissolving your molecules. Known as disruptors.
