If you get a Electricty weapon, why go pikeman Instead of TKA? If you try to use medium AP as a reason to go pike, why not go swordsman instead? For theelectric damage and DoT weapons. And blast for a damage type, Swordsman will never have the accuracy or speed of a TKA, so why go swordsman over TKA?Turrets and other structures are vunerable toblast damage and thedamage output of a swordsman is greaterthana TKA. Stun? Why go fencer for an offensive profession when you can have a weapon that will at least be 250 dmg without very little mitigation without even adding the weapon stats it self I just dont understand this question. I would go fencer for the defensive mods.

But the thing is TKA is the onlyelite combat profession with a single damage type.

One counter to that, however (being Devil's Advocate for a moment), is that TK is also the only profession who can innately cure wounds and buff themselves (Docs require crafted components, as are Chef foods).

I agree we need another damage type, so don't get me wrong. But there are other things taht the community will perceive that we must be mindful of.

Spuzzed in you 1st post you said some thing about TKA not having DoT's well swordsman have no DoTs accept the chance of getting them at the imp theam and jabbas theam and that just random if you get a DoT.

Swordsmen do, in fact, have a special that has a chance of landing a Bleed DoT (states it in the description). I'll have to wait until I log back in to see which one it was though.

Basically, this gives them a DoT attack, whether it lands every time or not is not the debate.

Unarmed Hit 3 also has the chance of landing a DoT

The swordsman DoT is a chance to cause 1 point of bleeding to the mind when using headhit 3...not much, but keeps them mad at you

It was my understanding that UH3 had a chance to inflict the Blind State, not a DoT. The DoT happens because every character has some chance to inflict a DoT, however slim it may be.

I guess I need to pay more attention to what happens on targets when I use UH3. I'll have to test it out more

Just a thought, but why not lower the high end ris, All So Known As an elder and make it a little more reasonable to kill. I mean come on..... I know things are meant to be a challenge, but 100% ris to a damage type. Maybe they will lower this after the rebalance, I'm not sure, but why do it in the first place and make everyone want new weapons just to be able to make a dent in it. New weapons would be cool too. Maybe a new type of boots that have damage abillities on them, or a quest that give you a differnet damage type on completion. I don't know, so don't flame me.... just my thoughts on the subject.

Bingo. Keep in mind the other professions, especially how at the moment, TK can own quite a lot of people, and with the right template is pretty much the only jedi-killer.

EXACTLY... the structures are VULNERABLE meaning AP does NOT come into effect So.. would you rather have a TKM doing upwards of 3k damage per second. or 5k damage every 3 seconds?

Turrets have very high resistances to kinetic damage meaning Im not doing 3k DPS Im doing more like 100 DPS. Also Swordsman, Pikeman, and Fencers get a bleed, two of them in fact, and they both stack. A TKA gets no bleeds and no DoT.

You were saying if we got a Blast damage weapon... So.. go at a turret with a blast weapon spamming UAH3

Also, bleeds are practicly worthless in PVP, friend has an exceptional T21 with 1800+ Max damage and his bleeds only do 100-150 a tick

I wasnt saying that bleeds are viable in PvP I was saying that TKA lack any bleeds of any kind. As for getting a blast weapon to spam UH3 its not possible. TKA only have kinetic damage in their arsenal. I still think that having an electric damage type would be ideal, but you believe that would take away from Pikeman. The thing is by going with the current heat weapon we would need a NS vibro motor which is the same component that the Pikeman already need for their lances.

As far as melee professions go, the TKA stand alone. Fencers, Swordsman, Pikeman, they all have their individual strengths and weaknesses, their own combat styles, their own pool attacks and their own weapons. Think of the TKA as a blend of all that. We dont get dodge, block, or counterattack, instead we get DA which is a combonation of those three. We dont get an individual pool attack like the Swordsman, Pikeman, or Fencers we get each of the pool attacks with unarmed leg hit, body hit, and head hit.

Theres no reason why the TKA shouldnt share a damage type with any other profession.
