Thread: Whats a good profession to go with master TKA?
Originally I planed to be TKM w/ solid CH abilities and good Ranger abilities. I loved the Ranger camps, but didn't do much else w/ the class. Everyone is a CH so I got bored w/ that.
Next I worked on doing TKM w/ Doctor 4/0/4/4, but I'm not sold on that yet. Buffs and super healing sounds nice, but I'm starting to see a lot of TKM / Docs around now too. Well maybe not a lot, but its become a common option w/ TKMs.I know this may sound crazy, but what does everyone thing about this option for TKM.
Brawler (4/0/0/0) - Minimum for TKA
Marksman (0/4/0/0) - Minimum for Smuggler/Pistoleer
Medic (0/0/4/0) - Pay for good STIM-Cs
Scout (4/0/4/1) - Good terrain navigation, harvesting to give your medic friends, basic camp (you never know when one may help)
Pistoleer (4/0/4/0) - These twobranchesgive you the best defenses
Smuggler (0/0/4/0) - DF is a sweet line to get
Teras Kasi (4/4/4/4) + Master
I'm thinking this is too thin (spread out), but it may offer an interesting option. You get great defenses from the TK, Pistoleer, and Smuggler line. You have some solid ranged attacks (namely Low Blow and others from DF), you can heal w/ Stim-C (although you'll have to buy them or even better trade for a crate or two w/ the meats you harvest using the Scout skills) ---- and finally you have your major fighting abilities provided by the TK trees of course.
Any comments? I'm sure there are lots of holes in this char breakdown that could be exploited, so please let me know what you think

That's a good template, but there's a few holes.
First, there's no Terrain Negotiation bonus in Exploration 4, so eliminate that and you save 5 skill points. The harvesting bonuses in hunting are unimportant unless you want to make a little extra cash by selling resources; there's another 14 points saved. Also, you don't need Survival 1 to make camps; you get the Basic Camp at Novice Scout, so there's 2 more points. By trimming that bit of fat, you free up 21 points.
Now what you do with those points is up to you. If you're serious about being deadly with a pistol as well as your fists, you really need to master Pistoleer for that extra +20 speed. If you don't plan on doing that, you can drop Dirty Fighting 4 as well since Last Ditch will fire too slowly to ever really be useful, freeing up another 2 points. But that won't be an issue after we trim a little more fat....
The quality of Stim B's has done nothing but steadily rise, making them at least as powerful as the average Stim C. So unless you're obsessed with low Med. Use Stim D's, you can drop Pharmacology as well, freeing up another 14 points.
Along with the 21 from trimming the fat in Scout, there's 35 points right there. Go ahead and spend 29 of them to master Pistoleer, making you equally deadly with a gun and your fists. That leaves 6 plus the 1 you had left from your original template, so 7. Drop 5 of those into First Aid to get up to 2. Now the 2 left are arbitrary, so you can put those wherever you want. Personally, I suggest Diagnostics 1 to speed up your stims a little bit.
That leaves us with the following template:
Brawler-4000
Marksman-0400
Scout-3000
Medic-2100
Smuggler-0040
Pistoleer-Master
Teras Kasi-Master
And there you have my personal template. This will give you an EXTREMELY deadly and versatile character.
In PvE, your only rival as a tank is the TKM/Doc combo and pets. You have all of the most powerful Pistol specials to bleed and lay a hurt on anything before it runs up to you. You then holster your gun and commence to beat it about the head and shoulders.
In PvP, you have all of the most powerful Pistol specials and enough speed to spam them if you find yourself in a ranged situation. You can also introduce them to the way of the fist if they try to get close. You have the Low Blow/Panic Shot combo to keep them down, and from there your options are wide open depending on the situation.
What fun. ![]()

I can buy Stim Bs that heal for a base of 440. I have never seen stim Cs come close to this. With First Aid 4 I can get heals for 1k plus.
I'm on Syclla. YMMV. On my server Pharm anythingis a wast of skill points unless you are going master medic.
Your Doctors there that are making meds aren't too bright... The materials used to make a 440 B could be used to make a 600+ C,maybe more than that. If you haven't seen one "come close" to 440 then you are either lying, exaggerating or your Docs are... well, stupid... no need to sugar coat that one.
I think both that he's right and doc's aren't stupid.
There's not much of a market for Cs, because not many folks have the skill to use 'em, compared to Bs.
It'd be stupid to sell a stim C if there aren't enough buyers. The 3k max bazaar cap might be relavent too, dunno.

Novice Medic can use Stim Bs. You need Pharm 3 minimum to use stim Cs. How many character templates have Novice medic and how many have Pharm 3? When you are trying to make money you try to sell something that will garner you the most potential customers. If the doctor is making Stims for money and he makes Cs instead of Bs then he is a very stupid doctor indeed.

That may be a valid point, but at least on Kauri I can usually find a good Stim C (over 600 base heal) on the bazaar, and buy them any time I can over Stim B's. With these, I can heal my self for over 1000 pts. of HAM while I'm in powerboost or have a doctor buff. I've never seen a Stim B come close to healing like that. But thats just my personal opinion, and your able to spend your skill points any way you like
