OK in the last book i read about Mace he had alos stuid in a tk type of training it was called vaipad i think i spelled that right dont have the book with me it is at home..It is some thing that he made from another race that used it.he turned it into one of the most deadlest things in the gaxaly only to jedi ever mastered it him and his one time padawan i forget her name she is in the movie and on the council has the stone in her forehead. after reading this book Mace explains some about where he got the vaipad from it was a race that was force sensity and they used the force to protect them self and the creatures on there on world. every person on the world had to learn to stay alive and yes the jedi did fear them to some extint.

Actually its the final form of Jedi fencing and one of the most brutal. Its also mastered only by two people, Mace and his padawan. Mace himself invented it and is based off of the Vaipad which is a multi-arm creature that attacks with great speed using all of its arms.
Mace's own race are all force sensitive. That book was kind hard to follow. The philisophical issues this guy had alone rivaled any of my worst girlfriends.
You also have to ask yourself, with redneck homemade circle of metal with a vibro motor in it strapped directly to the back of your hand, how long before you got a really bad case of carpal tunnel syndrome or busted knuckles?
