Sometimes it's better to kill lots of easy things quickly than spending money on buffs, armor, then going up to a creature and spam for 5-10 minutes till it dies. Tatooine and Coronet are good places to get exp. Kill anything that moves, seriously. Plus, it's not like the low end mobs are gonna hurt you THAT much, so you dont have to buy buffs/expensive armor...just my two cents

Interesting ideas guys. As for that idea of killing anything that moves... did that for novice brawler to UA 4. And, technically, i wouldn't say ANYTHING... i was in tat killing stuff and saw a aggro 12k npc... wouldn't want to go head on head with that w/ ua 4!

my way was slightly different from some of the others......

Try this way

Get buffs (6k) get muon/brandy (7kish) head to dantooine, Roll 5k reward missions for quenkers. Head out and smack up aforementioned quenkers.

If you get CH, your xp will be around the 3k per kill mark and they go down very easy. With lunge, Warcry, bezerk, you can clear a lair in the 12 mins that you have the muon buff easy which will equate to approx 20k xp every 15 mins ( allowing for muon downer ) and also the 5k per lair cash injection is sweet =)

ive done pretty much nothing but quenkers then savage quenkers for all the combat profs ive mastered and I have tons of cash and the xp flies in steadily. For example today, I made novice TKA at 1300 GMT when the servers came up... I played for about 6 hours and I now am 300k richer and a million xp better off... 0032 TKA.

Huzzah for savage quenkers!

I'm human... I have 1000-400-500/700-400-600/800-400-500

First and foremost, I'm going to make a suggestion many would consider radical...

MIGRATE YOUR STATS!

As a human, you have the capacity for becoming one of the most adaptable, dynamic characters in the game - bar none.

People often overlook the advantages of secondaries, instead drawn by the allure of high primaries - IMHO one of the biggest, most common mistakes. Secondaries are the most critical stats in the game.

Here's what I recommend: change all your stats to 600. Yes ALL of them; health, strength, constitution, action, quickness, stamina, and so on... migrate all of them to 600.

Although your character won't be able to endure a massive assault, those attacks which don't kill him/her will regenerate with amazing speed. Furthermore, using specials will have few negative consequences, since their HAM-draining capacity will be seriously reduced.

My second suggestion is to make certain your character is well-rounded in professions. I strongly encourage you to at least get novice scout & novice medic. Terrain navigation & stimpak application are essential for any combat class, but especially melee professions. I also recommend novice entertainer, so you can heal your own mind wounds and battle fatigue.

Lastly, equipment and missions...

To vibro knuckler or to not vibro knuckler? This is as much a matter of personal choice as anything. The consensus seems to be that using vibro knucklers helps leveling unarmed. In my experience, that benefit depends highly on the quality of vibro knuckler you're using. Speed is everything. Frankly, 2.0 speed just doesn't cut it. What you need is something between 1.6 & 1.8 speed knucklers to really make it worthwhile.

To armor or not to armor? Again, this is more about personal choice. Yes by wearing good kinetic armor, you may survive more attacks than unarmored - at the expense of slower healing (encumbrance). This is where the critical nature of secondary stats becomes most apparent. Personally, I'd discourage the use of armor, unless you intend to play buffed & have a buddy who can loan/give you some really nice armor for free. The expense of armor (both in credits & encumbrance) simply don't justify its benefits.

DO purchase stimpaks however... preferably stimpak B's with a high curing capacity (300+). These will be worth their weight in gold as you battle tougher opponents. Again, you'll need at least novice medic to apply them - get it, you won't be sorry.

As for missions... pick your prey carefully. Sure hunting Rancors on Dathomir is exciting and fun... it's also a great way to get well aquainted with the cloning facility. Personally, it's not what I'd recommend.

Dantooine has several critters, such as lesser bol and pickets that give fairly decent XP and best of all, DO NOT DEATHBLOW. Yes you may get in over your head and spend a decent amount of time on your back, incapped... but you won't die. Also you may want to consider less-camped planets such as Rori and Talus; Tortun & Huf Dun are both good XP prey which do NOT deathblow. Tortun in particular are good because they tend not to group - you can pound on one right in front of the others and they won't lift a finger (paw, hoof, whatever).

If you do get an opportunity to group with other players, pick your teammates carefully. Let them know what your intentions are. If you're more interested in gaining XP than becoming rich, you may be able to negotiate that your teammates allow you to destroy the lairs in exchange for some of your portion of the loot (lairs are great since they usually grant high XP at zero risk).

Overall, take your time... enjoy what you do and it won't seem so much like a 'grind.' Best of luck!

Oasa, I have a set of 71% ubese i think, at work right now so i can't check. If you want it shoot me a PM. I'm on Ahazi and just picked up a set of composite so I don't need it anymore. Having armor helped me get UA 4 for the 3rd time . I wish I could just pick a profession and sitck with it, LOL. This time I think I finally got it I'm doing the cookie cutter Smuggler, TKA/Smuggler/Pistoleer.

I'd say the best way to get cash is

1) run missions till you can afford a wind generator then find a vendor whose selling power on their vendor and offer it to them at 66% what they're listing it for. (ctrl-v map has a list of vendors on the right side, just click vendors and find one that sells resources). The vendor should buy it quick since they can turn right around and sell it for a profit and everybody always needs power to run their harvesters and factories.

to do this you'll need to get Artisan so you can survey, but then you can make your own wind survey device.

2) After you get some credits coming in, then you can afford better armor. Make sure you get kinetic resist, most creatures do Kinetic damage. I started out with a set of Mabari that I bought off the bazaar and it did me good for a while.

3) Get Scout and harvest meat and hide from the creatures you kill. Keep harvesting till you get at least a 1K stack and then sell it.

4) For grinding on what to kill, the best xp hunt I ever had was when I went to the Theed Med Center and found a medic trying to grind xp. I paid him 5K to follow me around healing me and then just went out and beat the heck out of nightspiders and capper spineflaps (anything non-aggro that won't go after your medic). Get some Muon gold and put in on a hotkey so you can down it real quick if your mind gets low, but otherwise the medic ought to keep you alive.

Wow thanks recon6, same name I assume. I gues I'll see when I get ingame, no?

Thats really cool of you man.

As for the suggestion of changing my stats to accomodate secondaries... I don't think I'll need that. If you look at them, I think they make a lot sense. Health is the most hit stats, as proved statiscly (sp). so i have 1000 health. Using VKs, they use action up fast so I have 700 of that, plus 600 quickness to lessen the blow of the VK's. I have 800 mind because i AM a novice medic. ATM, as an update I'm 2/3/0/3, scout 2/0/2/0, got a new VK 1.5 speed (was really expensive, and im rather broke now). and I'm halfway to TKA novice, thanks to your guy's help. I'm reallllly poor though. The only way I got the VK was because this really nice person gave me 11k to combine with my own meager funds to buy it. I am convinced that there are some of the nicest people on Ahazi, after that and this armor thing. I'm trying to level up to master medic... it sucks because I find the whole tumbling thing to be too cheezy and stupid.

Thank you guys for taking such an intrest in my posts and my thread. You are great helpers.

(P.S. - Anyone a master doctor/tka human? if so, once you hit that, how did you migrate you mind? I was thinking 1100/1000/900 myself.
