EDIT: If you can dodge a Wrench, you can dodge a rifleman....

Does anyone know how they are changing things? NDA! Are they going to nerf it or what?NDA! I love tk to the death in this game, and having the extra defenses is nice, but in having that i lose out on damage with all the high 80's and 90% armor out there. I am just wondering if I should change my template a bit or wait it out.NDA! Any information is appreciatedNDA!

If you are really good at dodgeball and not having anything in your hands .You have learned how to not get hit while unarmed . Now add in a polearm, a sword , or a hammer into the mix and now your balance and techniques for dodging damage now change as well . Your center of gravity and balances must now be re thought and you have to compensate for the new weight having something actualy in your hands and still maintain your balance well enough to avoid the hit. That's why I could easily forsee that each proffesion has it's own defeneses that only apply when you are in combat using the weapons particular to the proffesions. Ie unarmed defenes aply if you hands are weaponless or VK equipped .Fencer defeneces if your using a gaderfii stick or stun bat etc , swordsman defeneses for using power hammers , scythes exe hacks etc , an polaearms for pikeman def. The defenese mechanics involved is unique with each different wepaon class which thier fore should require one to learn the different tecniques if one wishes to use more then a weapon. with the begining proff's like master bralwer , master marksman being a starting proff should only grant a small yet noticeable overall defenesive bonuses to the different weapons styles avail showing you know a basic understanding of all the paths but not specialized in the elite proff beyond the starting proffs .
Hehe an that would be the dev;s justifications for removing the defe stackers thus the def stack nerf .
LOL the devs giving justifications for something that hilarious!

To me this makes sense:
New Year, new players (from Christmas)... the DEVS are going to release some sort of concrete news about the Combat Upgrade in January (Febuary at the latest). It wouldn't surprise me if they're already got the details ready to post for us, but are waiting for a most opportune time.
I dont think the Combat Upgrade will necessarily nerf anything straight away, it makes more sense to bring in some standard beginning changes to combat and THEN do the nerfing - so we might all have to wait even when the original CU date is released.

The only part I dare to admit is the part about the melon. In fact there's a huge discussion on it right now, Thunderheart threatened to quit SOE over it.
Oh crap! I forgot the NDA!

the way its going to be is yu dont just get the "stacking" effect if you have the profession. you get the benefits if you are using a weapon that is associated with tha class. If you are unarmed or have VK's you are working on your TKM offence and defence. If you are using a pistol, you get those benefits, a sword, a polearm etc.

A dev just sent me a PM about the combat revamp today... /cheer
Stacking is getting nerfed, jedi are getting nerfed, MBH are getting a big boost in effectiveness vs MLS, buffs are getting nerfed, and melons are getting nerfed again.
On the brightside TKM's are getting an elite profession to allow them to use eye lasers.
Enjoy.... this should be one great CU!

Unarmed would not be active, until you picked up VK or had nothing in your hands, but then you'd only get the unarmed defenses, not swordsman too.
Word.
Very simple concept that would stop a lot of crying.
But they really need to make more classes viable.
I don't want to be forced into becoming a Jedi in order to play/compete in this game.
I want to try new things every now and then and be effective no matter what combat class I happen to pick.
The sandboxers I know are very secretive, the best comment I've heard yet is "Just take everything you know about PvP, and throw it out." I like hearing those things from veteran players that know what they're talking about.

and that makes me a sad panda![]()
