The defensive acuity skill modifier itself acts in place of dodge/counterattack/block, whether you have from other professions or not.

I see that it actually works sometimes but not that often. It's purely subjective whether or not it's broken. Let's just say it works, but not that well.

To some people, being left behind when other professions got a boost is not right and is evidence that something is not working (hence "broken"). I personally think it works well enough.

Hi, I'm thinking of taking 2 skills from the Striking tree to improve my defense. I want to know if defensive acuity works if you're armed with a pistol. If it does, will it increase the chance to dodge (which I doubt) or does it just add an extra chance to block/counterattack/dodge etc....

It doesn´t work with pistols or any other equiped weapon, except vks ....and it doesn´tincreasedodge, block or counterattack...

Defensive Acuity is a Teräs Käsi specific defense modifier that allows us a chance to Dodge, Block, OR Counterattack our opponent. Basically it works as follows:



Opponent attacks TKA. Opponent succesfully "hits" TKA. TKA rolls to see if they make a "save" (the game handles all "rolls"). If the roll is succesful then another roll occurs to see if the TKA Dodges, Blocks or Counterattacks.



For Other Professions the second roll never takes place. Their "save" type is predetermined by the weapon they are holding (Dodge for Fencers and Pistoleers, Block for Riflemen and Pikemen, and Counterattack for Carbineers and Swordsmen).

i dont know what u guys been smoking lol but mine works fine... if u eat a +35% dodge aircake it seams to work with acuity somtimes but its realy not easy to test it. and dont tell me that crap that dodge only works for pistolers and fencers cuz that is DODGE MODS aircake in creases your chance to dodge by a % thus it accully works with tkm

Aircake actually affects your chance to avoid attacks in general, not the actual dodge stat. That's a misnomer because of the description of aircake in game. Basically you eat it and people miss you more.

Defense acuity works. Just not as well as dodge, block, or counterattack.

Yes defense acuity works. No it doesn't work when you're holding a pistol.

The description for Defensive Acuity in the TKA tree states that it "Improves youre chances of reacting to a succesful hit with a dodge, counterattack, or block." My question is then, is it worth picking up the defensive acuity tree if youre trying to stack dodge or counterattack defensives? how much of a binus does the defensive acuity give?
