are we getting nerfed?

I doubt it. People have been crying about the same professions forever.

Are we a FOTM? Yeah but hopefully people will discover the carbineers charge shot (a KD with no timer that can be spammed) and flock over to them.

Remember this point: A TK has high defense and its offense should be brought in line with all other melee classes. Swordsman and Pikeman should always do more damage than a TKM. For such nice defenses you guys can dish out an unbalancing show of offense.

OMFG, finally!!!...Someone else who has the sanity to think, HOW IN THE **edit** ARE FISTS DEALING MORE DAMAGE THEN MY METAL WEAPONS?!?!?.......I don't care how more skilled you are in using your fists, you're NEVER gonna outdamage a weapon..PERIOD....

so in other words... we are getting nerfed to match the other proffessions? we are getting balanced? i know when starting tk we cant go buy weapons that hit for 400 damage, and until we get past novice a swordsman/pikeman/fencer can do more damage than us.

No **edit**, it's FISTS for crying out loud.....I can break your friggin fists, which, are made of BONE, with my HEAVY METAL weapons....or does that not make sense?........

if you try to balance tk you will have to "balance" tk then what about commando? fencer/pistoleers?

Have you not heard of SKILL POINTS?......

PLEASE LEAVE TK ALONE, ther arent that many of us and we love this proffession.

Oh **edit**!!!!!.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has absolutely have to be THE funniest thing I've EVER heard from a TKM of this day and age!!!!..AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Listen up you pathetic Bandwagoneer, you have NO idea what it was like BEFORE all you powerseeking whiny little kids came to TK...Pfft...I was a TK back when, "ther arent that many of us".

LelisiaAlanna wrote:

The other melee professions are under powered and it gives off the illusion that tka is 'godly'.The other melee classes never got the attention TKA did, thats why they are lacking.

This is something I've been trying to tell everyone around here........even if they call me gimped in-game..........Those who have been TK before TK beef understands perfectly that this is the situation right now. I don't even know why they chose TK totweak....back then we didn't get all that much attention and allosuddenly BOOM!!! These beefs and tweaks fall into place..... I think they just whipped out a hat and wrote on 3 pieces of paper Teras Kasi Artist, Fencer, and Heavy Swordsman, (Of course, Pikeman aren't considered again)just grabbed one and it happened to be TK.

Here'sjust ONEexample of how gimped my favorite of all the melee classes are, and EVERYONE can do this test:

Go out and buy yourself an LVA (Long Vibro Axe, Polearms), duel a friend and explain to him you're just testing and ask him to /peace. Now back up from him till exactly 5m away, equip your LVA, and attempt to /attack............................................well?........ 'Target out of Range'.......................now at any point, UNEQUIP your LVA in the exact same spot, without moving, what do you get?.....'You swing at so-and-so andhit for### points of damage'...Now take this even a step further and take 1m step back, meaning you'll be a total of 6m away from said target........what do you still get?..........'You swing at so-and-so and hit for ### points of damage'......Guess what happens when you equip your LVA again?......

For all the stupid people who can't realize the truth: The above example does not state TK's are overpowered, it states how broken other melee is/can be, thus further validating "LelisiaAlanna"'s point.

Check my guy Ryushi, I have been here since the beginning, 1 weekafter launch, tk was my first profession mastered, along with ch before the balance. There are alot of dabblers in TK, but not as many masters as there used to be, I ditched everything but TK for holos. I just got master brawler to deal with the dabblers. TK isnt the problem, I think the other proffessions need to come up, my only complaint is when other proffessions come in here crying nerf, cry change instead...that is all i am trying to say. and how fast can you swing a giant metal axe when a trained master of martial arts is beating you in the face?

I would like to apologize for assuming you're just another pathetic bandwagon person and "Template of the month" person(I hate them with a passion)

Completely agree.....now people just dabble for the med line and that really needs to be fixed, like moving powerboost to 4 or master.

Agree completely, but in order for balance, some things need to come down, and some things need to go up.......The Yin and Yang lol.....

and how fast can you swing a giant metal axe when a trained master of martial arts (not martial arts, because that includes pretty much all forms ofmelee combat, including polearms)is beating you in the face?

I'd have to disagree with using such an emulation for a scenario simply for the fact that such simulations causes many problems. There are many counter-sayings for that, not just in Pikeman, but for every profession.

For example: How will you be beating me in my face, when a Master of Polearms combat wielding a 8m pole is both keeping you at a distance AND beating you in YOUR face?....

Or if I was a Commando I can say, How will you be pounding me with your fists if you're on fire screaming and writhing in pain?....

Or if I was a Fencer I can say, How will youkill me, if I, Master of the art of Fencing, can dodge and dance aroundyour every move andpierce where vulnerable?.....

What this does is taketwo subject party's and creates a scenario that only validates one party's side, and nullifies and ignoresthe other party's side, tactics, story, or possiblities that can only be "Countered" by making a whole new post, so essentially if we start doing more of these scenarios, we'd end up with a never ending thread .

Take a person and, as hard as you can, punchhim in the lower abdomen, (I use lower abdomen as an example because it is a large target and almost all forms of combat at one point have a technique that concentrates on that specific area). Thebest you'd do is maybe stun (Not SW:G sense)the person and knock the wind out of him. Now using the same exactforce with a 5ft blade in your hand, repeat. Now with the same exact force with an 8ft blade tipped pole, repeat. It's obvious......no matter how skilled you are, there is no way in hell's chance unarmed person will kill a person BEFORE an armed person can.

You say Unarmed Masters have certain techniques in RL that can kill people pretty fast if they use their fists right?........Masters of different bladed weapons all have techniques that kill, more so than unarmed.

My first character since day 1...err....2, was a Rifleman, and because of that 2.5X modifier I needed a melee profession....after a long hard couple days of examining the melee professions, I chose unarmed because I thought they were the weakest hitting of the melee (and back then, it sorta was),so it'd fit perfectly as what I needed it to.

i still stand by the belief that I had even back when I first picked up TK: Teras Kasi should never be huge damage dealers, but master of being quick on their feet and causing many different staus effects, maybe even some that cannot be applied by any other class. Sacrifice damage for speed and fordevastating, or just plain annoying state effects, lowest HAM costs, highestMelee/ranged defense, lowest toughness, and retain the ability to meditate. Only when something similar to that is applied will different damage types or getting a bleed move be justified.

Ok I am going to add my 2 credits to this post. Let me look at the past professions that I have mastered.

Master Pikeman, Aside from not being able to hit the broadside of a barn I would say that Pikeman is just about where it needs to be. Fix the issues with "out of range" and the -40+ accuracy modifiers on the LVA and this class could possibly be the best melee profession in the game. It takes a little from each of the other melee classes in the game and meshes them nicely together.

Master Heavy Swordsman, If you are interested in PVE and dont care about PVP this is the class for you, I have killed nightsisters with Medium armor and 70-80% kinetic resists in 1 hit. There is one specific time that I remember hitting a nightsister with HeadHit3 and doing 23k worth of damage. With their mind bleeds and a power hammer that if made by a good Weaponsmith you can easily deal out 5-8k of damage per hit based on creature. Only melee class in the game that with a powerup on your weapon u can get the damage output over 700+ base. If they want to bring the nerf bat to any class I suggest they bring the nerf-powerhammer to Master Heavy.

I havent done fencer yet but I plan to after I finish TKA.

My thoughts on TKA....... Just getting to Novice TKA is a pain in the a$$. I mastered Brawler for a holo' prof, and by far unarmed combat was just the worst!!!! Xp came slow and you hit for next to nothing at that level. Even as I worked my way up the TKA tree I still dont see what everyone is complaining about. Its not the overpowered tank that everyone feels it is, yea great I have powerboost but with specials I can kill myself faster than anyone else can. Pikeman is the same way. I guess I feel that if someone takes the time to level TKA to get to master then they absolutely deserve to be one of the best melee profs in the game. Anyone who has ever tried to level unarmed combat will tell you it sux till u get to novice, and even then its not that great until u get up the power tree. I am only a 2,1,1,3, TKA but I can tell you that it has taken me twice as long to get this far as it did either of the other 2 elite melee professions. So IMO I dont feel that it needs to be "balanced" other professions just need to be brought up to speed.

Some will agree and some will not, I fully expect to be flamed here so go ahead. This is just coming from someone who has done 2 other elite melee professions. Im not an expert by any means, I am just expressing my opinion.

Ryushi... ya know what, I think you are right... the only explanation for the way TK is right now is if their is some supernatural efx from studying. there is no way unarmed should keep up with pikeman or swordsman/fencer. maybe we should have had the dodge line, or less power. i know i have never hit for more than 1500, i hear about 3500 hits, but i personally have never gotten near this. i am looking into mastering every elite melee class right now, just to try them out, i will say i enjoy fencer right now, but i am only doing it to augment my tk, same reasoning for me to take up some kind of ranged, maybe we should have our range lowered, i just go tmaster brawler and havent used the 20 m lunge 2 yet in PvP, but that does sound a bit extreme. i think for alot of the munbers, we cant compare to our real world because of neccessary changes to make the game more fluid... otherwise there might not be any melee in this world at all. i think we have to "assume" that any melee'r is not a normal person, that they are gifted or in some way superhuman... this is my own concept of how it works. i hope that the other classes are brought up to par, mainly pikeman, i feel your pain, even though i only had to get polearm 1-4, i will say it was the most difficult, besides possibly unarmed.

I agree that other melee professions need to be brought up but your fist vs sword analogy is stupid. You are applying a real life comparison to a game - a rifleman should be able to shoot you between the eyes and you're dead before you see him.

The melee professions need to be balanced against each other so that TKM is lower damage and fast (although bear in mind we can only do one class of damage and have no DOT attack), then move through to Pikeman being slow but dishing out highest damage. Nowhere in this is there a need to nerf TKA.

Carbineer on the other hand - unlimited knockdowns has got to go. But in the mean time my TKM/Carbineer is doing pretty sweet

People keep harping on the 10 second KD. Lets set the record straight.Out of 100 KD's maybe 1 or 2 last for 10 seconds. Usually they go 3 to 5 at the most. This is with good frame per sec and little appearent lag. Dont kick up your heels about KD... itis notas big a thing as everyonethinks it is. Does buggy fit here?

Also, TKMwas powerful, read the TKA FAQ on this forum. So what is wrong with it being powerful in game. I have worked on my other characteras Rifleman and I Canhurt most TKM's with multiple long, heavy shots. Eachtop level skills have their own deadly special set of methods. If learned and used, they can own youright nicely.

I think most people dont like the idea that a person can kick your butt with basically no weapon. Sorry but that is how it was/is. . Dont nerf something that isgame/story correct!

TKA is fine right now.....they dont need any "nerfing". They need to improve the other mele clases, thats all..

I only have 2 gripes with you TKA's.

1) you are "Unarmed combat" - i dont care what any of you say, unarmed is unarmed. Holding a VK still isnt Unarmed, thats a weapon. Secondly, its a weapon that goes on ONE hand, but you see in animations your kicking as well, so this one weapon makes everything kick/punch faster. - Oh, and this thread about people wanting AP1/or dif damage types? Now thats just being greedy. TKA is just that, unarmed combat, your fists shouldnt do acid or heat damage. What were you thinking when you decided to do a class that comes from the "Unarmed Tree". Maybe you should get it if , after they get the game "balanced", TKAs are underpowered, but for now, not much should truely change.

2) right now, TKA's deal the most damage, but ofcourse the other classes arent working as they should be. But why in the world should a "Lunge attack" make me kneel from 20 meters away. Does anyone actualy realize how far 20 meters actualy is? Stand in a foot ball feild, One yard is just short of One meter. Could you imagine yourself somehow, in gods name lunging your self 20 yards? But thats not all, for a lunge, you stay in the same spot as you were before or relative to your movement prior to lunging, so you not actualy "lunge" but rather reach with strech armstrong effectiveness.
