Where the rubber meets the road is in combat..... Then the numbers fail...


The example I am fond of is when I challenged my wife to a duel.... I was almost TKM and she was almost Master Swordsman.. both 1 box away...


We both were buffed by the same doctor, similar buffs.... I had a Master Dancer Buff... Power Boost... and some Muon Gold... My mind was 3000... I had 70% Kinetic resistComp armor on. (too bad PH's are blast damage)..


Her set up was similar except no PB and no Dancer Buff... She had 80% kinetic resist armor (excellent choice for her).


I did Warcry, stun, blind... knockdown/dizzy ( not effective against her at all ) some would stick but with 80% kinetic, I couldn't put a dent on her..


Less than a minute into the fight she asked "I am going to cut back a little otherwise this will be over too quick.. Do you want me to take off my armor to make it fair for you?"


Long story short... She incapped me three times before the muon wore offand she didn't even look like she had been in a fight....


And NO swordsman aren't overpowered either..


My point is that you can look at the numbers all you want but they don't reflect the variables of armor, BE clothes or specials... ( she was warcrying quite a bit herself )


Some TKA's won't duel if you are wearing armor..... If you have to put conditions like that into effect then maybe you aren't all that powerful. Armor wasn't a factor when she was bonking my noggin with that wicked nasty hammer..


It's easy to look at the skill tree and pick out the stuff that is unfair against your toon... But if you looked as closely at your skills as you do others, ( Grass is greener syndrome ), you will find power there as well.



Thanks to Vasarian Brandy I am now the town drunk and ONLY go to the AA meetings to brag about the killing spree done during my drunken rage.
