Pikeman and swordsman have AP2. What about enemies with AR3 and 4? Are we not just as out matched?
All right , that's it, the ark store is closed for debate.
I put in to have this thread deleated ASAP.
So, when they get around to it, youwon't have to look at it anymore.

BUT, i would accept that there are alot of melee weapons with bleeds that still do decent damage, and i have never heard of a looted VK, so they cannot get one anyway. If weapons with bleeds become more common, then the bleed thing would be a good argument again.
Wrap your mind around this. 99% of all pikeman are only privleged to 2 kinds of damage; Kinetic, and Electric.
Now, what is the special defense on Composite Armor? Is it electric? Yes it is. Pikeman now have 2 compleatly different damage types, all wortheless in high end PvP. Are you gonna argue with that?
Can anyone even acuratly say what AP does, and that it make that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things?
Yes, it will casterate TKAs in PvP. But pikeman, fencers and swordsman will all still have 100% chance of hitting with THEIR knock downs. Way to think of the team. Do you tink all melee just consists of TKA? Or do you think that in the extreamity of a high end battle where some one would actually NEED to use this food to defeat the TKA, that the other melees would have been out classed and killed already?
I used to think you were just a troll now i realize your a misinformed troll with a poor understanding of game mechanics.

But...but...but...you're leaving? This is so sad...
You actually made me feel good. Proof that there were stupider and more spiteful people in the world than I...
Now we can actually get back to discussing how to make TKA's a better class of player without the background interference of a whiny spoilt kid...
As requested, an accurate desription of what ap does, taken from the Prima guide ( granted, guides are usually out of date the minute they're printed, but this bit has NOT been change to date in the game we're playing today)
" Armor rating: All weapons have an armor rating of either : 0 (none), 1 (light), 2 (medium), or 3 (heavy). All player crafted armor has a rating of 1.
If the weapons rating is the same as the armor being hit, there is no change in the damage calulations.
However, if the weapons rating is higher than the armor's rating, it deals an additional 25% damage for each level higher.
Therefore, a weapon with AP 3 attacking a piece of armor with AR 1 would do an additional 25% damage, followed by an additional 25% damage
So, a blast that hits for 100 base damage would do a total of 156 damage after the rating difference is calculated (100 x1.25 x 1.25 =156.25)
On the other hand, if the armor's rating is higher than the weapon's ap, the damage is reduced by 50% for each higher level.
Therefore, a weapon rating of 0, against an armor rating of 2 would do 50% less damage, then an additional 50% less. So a base hit of 100 would be reduced to a hit of only 25 (100 x .5 x .5 = 25)
Remember however, at this point player crafted armor has a standard rating of 1, but creatures can have armor ratings from 0 to 3"
That should clear up the "what does ap really do" question. And yes...AR 3(heavy) is the highest in the game...no such thing as AP/R of 4.

Thanks for bothering to write all that out.
I seem to remeber a change taht went into armour peiceing a couple months back, can't remeber what. I seem to remember it having somthing to do with, the increased damage is messed up.
Ark you know damn well your argument about damage doesn't hold water, you don't take into account the bleeds that all other mellee proff's get.Did you ever think that perhaps your guy's bleeds make up for the difference in dmg?Or did you ever think that by the other proffessions hitting for lower and higher that it averages out to that of what a TKA does?Did you ever think that with the new chef food that gives plus 90 to KD resist is a huge mitigater against a TKA in PVP, add in the opponent wearing 80% kinetic armor and their isn't much a TKA can do agianst them.
Basically Ark quit thinking so narrowly and look at the whole picture
