This is great idea in theory, but it's impractical at the moment. I know we're all just brainstorming here, but I highly doubt a gigantic TK Grandmaster quest would ever be implemented. Still, it would be pretty cool.

You doubt that this would ever be implemented? This is something that I could see happening some time down the road, maybe with, or after the space expansion. I think that something like this would be an great boon to gameplay and would go a long way for emersion. The game certainly has the potential to support this type of thing and perhaps it will happen someday.

Now, Teras Kasi is what we're talking about now, but this sort of progression of elite elites could be applied to many more professions as well (at least one coming out of the marksman tree with this coming from the brawler) and would certainly add depth to the game as well as an increased roleplaying incentive.

I should have reviewed my word choice now that I think about it lol. Of course I don't see this idea coming to life any time soon, but I'll admit that something like it has a good chance of being considered later on.

All this talk about elite elite professions and very major changes to the professions POST release should say a lot about SOE. This games was released long before it resembled gold, over 6 month into release now and they're revamping the entire combat system. It's like they paid no attention at all to any players in beta. Unless some seriously large and well thought out changes come out soon I wont have any friends left on SWG to play with when WoW and/or EQ2 comes out. I'll be moving along to. Shame really, SWG was such a great idea and sony really dropped the ball on it. I can see SWG being worth $15/month in about a year or so at this rate.

I think these types of discussions are very important for the future of all the classes, not just TKA. The main reason is character advancement. I was thinking about this earlier today and for several days. What I miss the most, and why I think so many people decided to holo-grind, is seeing their character advance. Everyone loves to see the xp growing and looking forward to doing new things. Most classes can be mastered in days, if not hours. So what do you do after that?

Elite/elite classes would be an answer to character advancement. I liken it to EverQuest and their Alternate Advancement points. Basically it's a way to further advance your character after you've maxed the level of it. Gaining special abilities at a high experience price. In SWG elite/elite classes would seem to be the answer.

All elite classes could have further advancement open up to them. This just happens to be the TKA board. The requirements would be much higher than the regular trees and thus more specialised. Maybe each block only grants one small or specific bonus. But having these extra blocks filled would noticeably set you apart from people that choose not to go that route or have yet not been able to fill them. Characters, now, tend to be pretty generic. There is no real uber characters mostly due to generic templates and also lack of high end loot.

Elite/elite classes would give you the option to set yourself apart from other similar classes. ATeras Kasi Mastyermay be good against a Rancor, but a Teras Kasi Grandmaster (or what ever it ends up being called) could take on several night sisters or something equivalent. Same witha Master Pistoleer and it's elite counterpart. Maybe a certain elite/elite box would give you extra regen points, an extra 10% kinetic resist, +10 to your damage, the possibilities are endless.

Elite/elite classes, or something equivalent will be introduced eventually. The lack of content in this game thus far will force them to do it. People get bored too easily if they can no longer improve their character. Weapons are getting close to max damage they will allow, armor is hitting 90+% resists. They've got to allow for some type of growth. Elite/elite classes would solve that problem and after the combat balance would not be that difficult to impliment.

hello all! im glad someone brought out the idea of grandmaster, but i think a great way for one to acheive (badspelling) such a title , is to become MASTER TERAS KASI then after about2-5 monthsof remaining a tkmgain the title(with acertain bonus or selected or random etc.25+ power....20+powerboost 40+ speed)......the reason i say this is because those of us who have been tkm from the begining are a little angry that because tk got better, alot of ppl hoped on the bandwagon......annoying seeing tk all over the place just to reap the benefits. i think that this idea should be applied to all proffesions. It would bring more honor to your proffesion and more of a role playing feeling..............then again i havent loged on for a little over a month...hmm i wonder if my character still exists????

The thing is, all the bandwagoners have done the same amount of work as a student of Teras Kasi to achieve the master title. I think it would be an interesting addition to add a time factor into it, but there would have to be something else that you would have to do beside staying a Teras Kasi for some amount of time.

While adding a time factor would be kind of interesting, I think that it would be much better to simply have additional/alternate trees which have other requirements that make you do something rather than making you wait a certain amount of time.

Wow, great points all!

Time Rewards: Regarding rewards to how long you've been a TKM, I like that idea, lets talk more about how that might work...mabe "buying" skills with extra xp from trainers.

I also like the idea of mabe tying in entertainer dancing with ours to make it into a Hybrid...lol! It actually kinda makes sense as far as balance issues Would also solve the "entertainer shortage"

I agree there are too many of us out there, I wouldn't mind a nerf actually, and yeah, other proffesions are broken and all but lemme just say this right now, this discussion is not about TKA right now, this is for the future, to get us all thinking, to throw out this idea for our grandchildren to read, to see we were pioneers of the new fronteir!!! But seriously, I think we all know other professions are broken, we all know this will not be implemented next week (excuse me as I laugh), and we all know we're powerful, but that doesn't matter in this discussion, we're here to talk about the content, the story, and the history of TKA.

We have an advantage, there isn't much written about our proffesion, so we have the power to mold it into anything we want. What we need is creativity, not numbers, its a role-playing game all So I'd like to see some more ideas about content, mabe kinds of missions for advancement or mabe off the wall ideas about the future look of TKA Anyway, keep on brainstorming!

Here is a thought...

How about the grandmaster/true/fallen TK becomes unlocked as a force sensitive slotwould be. But, since TK's are supposed to have forsaken the force seeing it as too powerful for anyone to behold, one you unlock this slot, you can no longer unlock your force sensitive one. Speaking for myself, I would rather become a Teras Kasi "Champion" (for lack of a better term) that is equal to a Jedi Master. It would really even be that hard to impliment either. I mean, the TK champion, or what ever you want to call this new class, hits fast for far lower damage than a lightsaber but has agility defences to make up for the downfall in damage. And the force/forceless debate, just make some skill or ritual or something that once the TK hits the highest level or every proressive level up to it have the ability to push the force farther and farther away from his own body until, at master (or highest rank) the force has little to no effect on him. Do note that this is not a huge downfall for jedi, since they do have a ranged attack of saber throws. This plan just seems more fair than to just have an elite elite profession for a base starter. Along these lines, Bounty hunters should have the same thing, and should have the ability to get "legendary" status or something. I mean, Boba Fett took on Darth Vader and almost won... Oh well, enough wishful thinking.
