Thread: Tips: How to get from TKA to TKM quickly (for the n00bs) *READ*
Pets or no pets, my goal is TKM. This person has given me, lowly TK novice (0,1,1,0) hope.
Tonight, I'm going to Dathomir, My Cowardly Gurreck will be coming along with me.

Hmmm.... time how long it takes you to drop 1 of these MOBs that earn you 1K or more. And then time how long it takes you to drop one Nuna. I think you will find that killing Nunas non-stop will yield more XP per hour if you are solo. Plus the Nunas you can do without a pet, although a pet that groups does add to your XP gained.
My strategy? Get all 6 master doctor buffs, put on some good kinetic armor, leave off the helm, equip a good PSGand go to town. As soo nas you have Unarmed 4, you can hit a lair and force them to swarm you and use your area attack. Once buffed you can do this non-stop and never worry about death from energy use. Keep stims handy and just heal yourself in combat every now and then, but with a full set of master level buffs this quickly becomes a non issue on anything white or below.
I have been doing Nunas, and spiders of all sorts die quickly to kinetic. I also do Kaadus, even reds, but that is for the Avian meat mostly which makes the extra time worthwhile for me.
Buff up, armor up, shield up... and if it is white or below, slaughter it!
If the goal here is to get to master TK quickly, spending your time getting creature handling and doctor is not the way to do it. if you already have it, fine. but if you do not, you can easily master tk in the time it takes to get those other professions.
There are only two important tips to help you get TKM quickly:
1. Group
2. Kill lots and lots of dark blue or white cons.
While you can kill yellow and sometimes red cons, the downtime is not worth it.
Another thing to keep in mind.. If you do as the first poster suggests and spend all your time using pets for tanks and buffing yourself, you will be one of those TKMs who keeps getting their butts kicked by novice pistoleers in duels. This is not a good way to learn all the limitations and abilities of the TKM.
So if you truly want to enjoy this game and become a true master of the teras kasi arts, getting TKM quickly may not be the best way to do that. spend some time soloing so you learn a bit about tactics.
It's funny how different folks have different experiences.
One guy says group for fast exp. You know what? I get virtually no exp grouped. Guess what? Alot of folks working their way up the tree have said the same thing. Maybe it works for you, not not for everyone. So saying that's tip number one of the only important tips for fast exp is ridiculous. You can say 'XXX worked for me', but please, stop saying it'sone of the only two importantthingswe all need to do.
Kill lots of blues. Yes, it works in theory.Personally, I experience two problems with this. First, finding an enless supply to avoid that horrid down time. I kill a couple thousand exp worth of mobs, then I have to run around 20 minutes looking for more. Net effect - the same down time, if not more. Second, I find Ihave to healup about the same amount for theabout the same amountof exp gained. So it works about the same either way for me. The difference is I personally feel a strong sense of accomplishment when I down ared mob, while I feel boredomwading through a sea of blues and whites.Additionally, I find get more xp per unit timefighting reds than blues, becausea single baz nitch lair will spawn literally dozens of 4K mobs before running dry. A lair of blues, say zuka boars, runs dry in perhaps 8 mobs before I have to go find another. In the end, it's a function of preference, mob availability, location, etc.
In defense of 'spending your time getting creature handling', there really is no time spent doing it. Most of us already harvest the corpses. That gives you the scout exp, as does running around with your scent masked. Using a pet in a fight gives you the pet handling exp, even the lowly rock beetle that requires no creature handling skills to use. There simply is no added time in aquiring these skills. Use a pet or don't use a pet, it's really up to you. You can solo a mutant baz nitch without to be sure, you'll just burn more stims.
Not everyone likes PvP. Some find it trite and tiresome and have no intention of engaging the aforementioned novice pistoleers or anyone else for that matter Also, other people on this board have posted many times that they have no problem in PvP, doing quite well whether they have CH skills or Doctor skills. So your argument that havingthose skills makes you weak in PvP is a false one.
Dictating how someone is going to truly enjoy the game is always a bad idea. One does not need to have a grasp of soloing tactics to do so. Some get a kick out of tackling the tough mobs in PvE. Some like to best their contemporaries in PvP. Somefind their joy in exploring all the crafts and skills. Others derive supreme satisfation from exploring the worlds and finding that perfect vista. There are as many paths to fullfilment as there are players in the game.
Find what youenjoy, and do it. That's how you get the mostout of the game.

Personally, I hunted Piket Longhorns on Dantooine, with my Rock beetle. I had to heal him once during each battle, but I would end up with 13-14k xp for each "wave" of Pikets (each lair has 3 waves of 3).
Get a few crates of Mind Cost -32% melee powerups, and you can destroy Pikets and only need a little downtime between waves. And since the missions are 10k apiece...you get a litle more cash than the Mutatn Baz Nitches.
Stun, Blind, KD2, UH2, UH2, UH2, Dizzy, UH2 a few more times, and they're dead. I mastered balance and meditation inside of 3 days.
Now whenever I am buffed, I use my VKs. Whenever I am not, I fight barehanded. The VK still speeds you up a little, and the Armor Piercing value on it is nice...
Just my two cents on the matter.

Great post!
I've had pets for awhile, but never really tested their combat ability until a few nights ago. If I was hunting with them, I'd pull the creatures and let my pets assist. I decided to put them to the test against a good spawn of Bolle Bolles. I solo'ed a couple without pets for 2K unarmed, but when grouped with my Probot and letting my droid and Kahmurra attack first I got 2.7K unarmed XP! Quite a difference. I got to 1/1/1/1 pretty quickly, although I was already close.
I agree with dacton on finding what you enjoy in the game and doing that. I'm not really interested in becoming a TKM super-quick because I want to learn the nuances of my combat skills. I want to battle with pets and without. I get a great deal of pride when I take out a Tusken Chief on my own as well as getting great unarmed XP from Bolle Bolle's grouped with my Probot. When I'm Master I want to really be a TKM and be able to answer questions on style and technique. That means learning the nuances of TKA and spending time doing it. That's my style. I'm a Ranger and my title says 'Trapper', so I get a fair amount of trapping questions. It's cool that I can actually answer them.
The suggestions in here did help me think outside my experience and let my pets lead the attack. That worked out well and I think I'll try that a little more now. It won't be my main style, but it's definetly in my bag of tricks. ![]()
aucutaly i would recomend that if you get master TK title you wear it.
because if you lose, you can say well duh you *EDIT* ing retard im a TK master, this game has designed me to be at a disadvantage, good game though.
and if you win you can say, lol you lost to a tkm your pathetic go home now k? thnx
the building idea is a good idea, i constantly run into the medical center and use the elevators in theed. people try to chase me dont do so well usualy.
the only problem with that is the same pathetic 6 guys pvp together and its hard to solo with the same 6 bounty hunters, riffleman, comandos running around. i also play intrepid.
here is the ultimate pvp tip direguard everything you have read up untell this point about TKM and pvp.
TIP: never declare ever. tef flag off people, group with a declared friend, who shoots and gets auto fire in return. set up at close range, and pick targets. life is much easier for a TKM and funner. remember DO NOT DECLARE as a TKM.
Exile002 had asked me to post tips concerning Single pulling giant baz nitches and mutant baz nitches for those of you who have not the experience on this area. Hope this will help you who are just starting off your TKA career.
grab one of the baz nitch's mission (actually, this works on ALL social & aggro mob lairs).
When you arrive at the baz lair, look around and usually you will find 3 ~ 4 bazs roaming around.
target the one that is Closest to you and look at the distance apart from you.
target the second closest to you and look at th edistance apart from you.
Make sure the distance cloest to you and second closest to you is at least 2m apart.
If they're not, circle around the lair until the condition is met.
if the condition is met, walk a straight line towards the closest baz, approach it until it is 15 m from you (this is the aggro radius for Baz).
Once within 15M range, stay put for a second or so and the baz will aggro on you. You will then run back and engage the baz one on one.
Couple of things to remember:
1. do not initiate combat, wait until the baz aggro on you. If you initiate combat, the baz WILL bring a friend.
2. do not use pet to attack. Tell you pet to stay at least 40 M from the closest baz, the key is for you to run within the 15 m aggro radius and pull a single baz back to the location of the pet for it to tank the baz.
3. intimindate and intimindate2 areyour friend. Baz hits pretty hard and once you've engaged the first baz and you've started running back to the location of your pet, you want to try to stick on an intimindate as soon as you clear the 20m Bring-A-Friend raidus (basically this is the radius in which you attacking a baz will result in a second baz coming to its aid as long as the second baz is withing 20m of the baz you're attacking)
Could i do this working from unarmed 4 to TKA? has anyone tried?
