Whats the point in taking the jedi system and fusing it with the tk system, there is no work involved and it creates another grind scenario. Everything is not a grind btw, you should actually be able to have fun while you play instead of going through a rigoruos excercise in futility, especially when people keep asking for more grinding. Thats not what I want to do with my $15, I don't know about anyone else....................

Making a "FRS style system" is pointless if its not actual FRS. Jedi should've been given a bit more dignity than that, and TK deserves the same.

I agree to a point. Like all things however their only a grind if you make them it. Xp for such a section to advance does not need to be anywhere near the levels Jedi have also differnt things coule easily grant differnt Xp, doing more content for example, geting to certain points in the DWB, stuff like that. It's only a grind if you say, well you have to go kill X amounts of creatures, theres more that can be done then that if you think in to it more.

The point was just a suggestion of something to expand on that anyone can take part in should they wish. With some more thought it could be made so that it's worse to try & grind it. But as I did state alot that whole section is something I'm not sold on completly. I'm not a fan of grinding myself, I will admitI used to, however those days are well behind me, I'd now sooner spend my time doing what I enjoy, I've just made TK Master again (3rd time) on a new account, I took over 2months doing it simply as I spent alot of time just going out & seting chalenges for myself.

I'm also not talking of 'fusing' anything, the point is this is a basic advancment system beyond Master that does work however (though with the FRS it shows less at the moment simply as it needs higher numbers of Jedi then most servers have). If you read in to whatI put it's very unlike the FRS in the way that you get to choose to focus on more stuff past Master. Some of the Jedi stuff just happens to show some ways of doing this, hense why I used it as an example. I do strongly belive that there needs to be more targets beyond Master that are optional (idealy granting bonuses that would be nice to have but are in no ways required) & that goes for all combat proffesions.

I know some of the other bits are a bit Jedi'ish (the enclave idea) but I do belive there should be such a place for every proffesion as it would supply a theme park location as well.

The only thing I don't like are the comparisons to the current FRS/Jedi system. Part of my reasoning involves requiring PvP play to master a Profession, and part of it is related to my personal feelings about Jedi in SWG (which isn't a good reason I know, but there nonetheless ). I think it is quite possible to use some of the good aspects of that system, however, and blend it with the idea of a Themepark in order to create something that "feels" more fun and immersive.

No longer holding out hope, SWG will never be the game we fought so hard for, that we believed so much in. Farewell friends.

I agree with the PvP thing, though thats why I've suggested geting the points in other ways as well, though there is a risk of it becoming a grind to many people simply as they don't know how to play in other ways.

As I said in my post when I made it I'm in two minds about the beyond master part simply as having something that is a benefit if you take it but not much of a loss if you don't can become difficult in my opinion. Yet the idea of just having goals beyond Master that you have to keep playing to keep is something that I would like to see. A more imersive way then just needing to kill X amount of things would be better, but then theres the problem of guides showing up & so it not been a challenge to people, or been to difficult as people over take them using guides etc.

I know alot of people dislike Jedi in SWG, & I'll agree with people that they shouldn't be an option (at least not in the more common way they are, & thats coming from someone who has one of his accounts almost there, just can't be bothered to get the lastfew of FS boxes) but I often see it as people seem to have nothing to aim for after Master, which is something that needs to be there in my opinion but of course as I said before staying away from the grinding aspect.

I think we can all agree that somethin needs to be done.

Mankind00 has the most indepth idea, and Rytuek is right in the immersion aspect of the thempark. I feel like my ideas for innate abilities are a step in the right direction, and there have been a few ideas tossed around in various other threads about this very topic that were good.

So what do we know?

  1. Teras Kasi is a profession with a detailed background

  2. It takes approximately91 points to master (?)

  3. The profession was made for adding states to oppenents and boosting primary stats

Now what to we want?

  1. We want a detailed and themed system of quests that encourage us to keep our profession and "truely" master Teras Kasi

  2. We all agree that an arena for regular sparring and combat is neccessary for social advancement in a game run by grinding.

  3. We would like an expanded setof innate abilities gained by completing challenges set forth by said themepark.

  4. As a whole we all agree that an idea for ranking could be incorporated with the use of sash's.

  5. Many of us have also spoken on a assortment of robes at a TKs disposal to boost specific attributes.(scaled down)

  6. Lastly a badge of some sort or a title beyond TK would be great, but not neccessary.

So whats holding us back?

  1. Whats holding us back is a specific set of ideas to take to the development team.

  2. We need the entangibles to be in black and white.(scripts, npc's, locations, and concept art)

  3. But most importantly we have to be confident in the completion of such a project.

There are a few people I notice on these boards that could put theire collective heads together and come up with an idea that suits the needs of the future TK by adding depth.

Awesome ideas. Love the dojo and robes as im sure all of you also do. Maybe if the dojo's arent TKA only, but for all brawlers, the devs would accept it better. Anyways, do the devs even know of these ideas?

Yes the dojo is to be used for whomever wants to duel. I made this point in me thread "Grandmaster Skills".

And also in the interest of good will towards ranged professions, I suggested something along the lines of a speedball arena style of facility for ranged/fast paced combat.

It should be an easy enough thing to over come. Wookiees can wear a suprising about of stuff when shaved...

Seriously though it's a non-issue in my opinion, this isn't a Dev thread going in to every detail, just some brainstorming. If we posted "oh but better not let furballs & hamerheads wear them!" then you would have reason to worry, but as my guild leader has a Wookiee I for one wouldn't say that... I'm too attached to my little Bothan arms....

Teräs Käsi Dojo: I think we have a better chance of getting something like this if we ask for a structure which isn't TK-specific. Instead of TK Dojo, a Combat Arena, Trainingor Sparring Hall.

Teräs Käsi Order: We're fine, thanks I'm not inclined to be shy about this - I want the Pacanth Reach developed with the remnants of Palawa, the Followers of Palawa temple, the TK tournies on Bunduki and all! Throw in Epicanthix as a playable species while we're at it. I know - Long time to develop. But there is a LOT of potential with the idea of a story/quest-based progression for TK centered at a themepark/POI, and I would hope that other professions would be able to have story/quest progression as well. At least profession specific missions and quests - maybe that's a good place to start.

All of those are sweet ideas which I hope get put into play. I think he same thing should happen with the jedi class as well.

I think there are several wonderful ideas here, great for the RP'ers as well as the powergamers.

Instead of (or perhaps in addition to) the TKO idea, one thing that might be interesting is themeparks/quests that only masters can do. Challenging ones, that you have to have an specific item from the first to go on to the second (or something similar). Something like this can be added on to ad infinitum, and would add a ton of content as well as loot that only TKM's can access /grin

If you did implement this you would have to make the special item so that it could not be traded or sold but was only holdable by the person who did the themepark or quest.
