Just trying to confirm if once a Katarn is bio-linked, is it able to be sliced? Heard that bio-linked items can be traded now, just not equiped by someone else. is this true?

They can be traded, but for some reason cannot be sliced.

Just got my Katarns today and was hoping to get some more info before slicing them. I'm looking to add more damage but I'm a little confused cause I read that going for speed gives a higher DPS.

Tonight ill test the Max speed sliced one against the max damage one, ill list the results here, ive also picked up fencer 0404 since and its improved the stats slightly , so ill update that to.

First priority is to get the damage closest to the cap of the weapon, then start thinking about speed. Does any1 have the stats of a 4% dmg sliced set? I just want to double check something... A speed slice may give a higher DPS, but it still has the same average damage/action used. Damage slice increases the average damage per action cost ratio, making it a more efficient weapon at converting your action points into actuall damage caused. I've discovered DPS to be a lill' misleading.

i would definitely go with the damage one over the speed one


dps is fine and all, but you'll do more damage per hit that way, and the speed deference between the two is small enough it won't matter... in my opinion.

Thanks to a lot of help I eventually managed to get myself some knuckles and am now thinking about getting it sliced.

I don't know any smugglers so it really will just be a question of finding one on who is willing to do it.

My question is this - is there any chance of the smuggler just running of with the knuckles. I presume its really just a trust system - is it? Worked so hard for these things it makes me a bit nervous.

Any thoughts on the matter would be most welcome.

I'm thinking dam and crit. Speed and SAC is fine, and you won't gain that much more from going all dam (I believe). I have three knuckles though, so I'll try different approaches out - need to test further on regular weapons though before doing any slicing at allon the Katarn's.
