I'm glad these 3 issues are being addressed. I ground TKM well before the CU and was devastated when SOE made us look more like barroom brawlers than a martial arts master. I no longer feel proud of my profession and the satisfaction of seeing the results of the hard work i put in to grind is all but gone. That being said i'm damned if i'm letting it go just because some git in an office at SOE decided that the release date took priority over the functionality and enjoyment of the game (shame on you).
Hopefully once these issues are addressed properly our profession will become fun again.
Someone posted earlier that soloing has gone now for us TKAs but in reality although we can no longer wade into a crowd of beasts, that should be able to crush our puny bodies like a bug, and flatten them all without even blinking I have found no problem soloing certain level 80-82 beasts. My template is TKM/MCH with a bit of scout.
I generally battle Nudfuhs on rori as they are quick to kill and the nests spawn a crazy number of them. I can pick those level 80 missions from my city's terminal without being grouped.
Using TKM i've tried soloing them without my beasts and down the go without taking more than 10% health from me. likewise i've sent my 3 female Narglatches (oh how i love them) on them with similar results. When both my creatures and I lay into them they drop like flies.
It's not the end of the world for us. We can get xp on our own (if we couldn't I'd be gone). Obviously grouping gives you the benefit of group DPS but if your friends aren't online at least we can you can still go out there and cause mayhem. We just can't do it the same way we did before the CU.
P.S. - CH injects the fun element back into my combat that SOE have drained out of us so i'm reasonably happy

Forgot to say that while testing my abilities against the nudfuhs I didn't take any food or use any stims. I used powerboost before the attack (although probably didnt need to) and kept myself in a constant state of CoB using a macro.
the pause in my macro is 34 seconds incase you're interested

If your wearing defensive clothing attachments and your melee defense is only 305 then your no where near what you could be tank wise. I currently have 0 defensive clothing attachments.. My melee defense is 325 ranged is 280-285 dont recall right off.. TKM has the flat out best defenses. Force of will is broken and that sucks.. And our weapons are very lame making us the weakest damage dealers so that sucks as well. If i use food and drink my defenses are 425melee 380-385 ranged. Just soem food for thought to think about.. my set up is currently Master brawler, TKM, Masterswordsman, Fencer 4xxx, Pikeman xx4x, And i have two boxes fo ranged defense in FS filled. Also the innate defense really is not active at all unless you run CoB. I hear alot of people complaining they cant tank solo etc etc etc... I only profession I had mastered when CU came about was TK. I was a level 63.. I soloed my entire template without a problem. It is strictly a matter of learning what you cana nd can not do and how.. I can take on two mobs my level or so under me without an issues.. on ocassions I can take on two mobs 1 level above me and still win..

3) The current lack of specials within TKA makes combat very restrictive, making it nothing more then spamming the same moves, are there any plans to make it more diverse? (this was in reference to not onlyto our lack of moves, but also our animations, they only commented on the moves, you will see why further down.)
Half of the TKA abilities are defensive in nature to improve your tanking capabilities. If you are not spending a decent portion of your time using defensive abilities you're not fighting at your fullest potential.

does this seem confusing to anyone else and help me if im forgetting moves here
armor break- lessens the integrity of the targets defense (offensive)
dizzy- lessens the enemies defensive stats (offensive)
unarmed hit- Clearly offensive
Melee stike- Clearly offensive
leg sweep- a knockdown attack that does some damage but in one way prevents damage from being done to you as the target is on their back (defensive)
improved CoB- we all know its defensive
i see about 4 offensive moves and 2 defensive moves, now if we are supposed to use defensive moves as the basis of our combat, i dont see what we are gonna do, keep using leg sweep? or i guess dizzy if some peeps think its defensive, ok and then when 45 seconds is up we click CoB again, thats if we dont have a macro running already, hmmmmm this is really exciting, not to mention we dont do proper damage to even justify the statement above, nor do we have a justifiable amount of "defensive moves" to make this statement a valid point- this is all subject to their version of "decent amount of time spent using defensive abilities" i guess, (translation stand there and get the poop beat out of you until you die cause you cant fight back )

The plain an simple is that, no matter how our defense is, we still at some point have to kill it also. Besides,......defensive....Center Of Being??? what else? Dizzy Strike? Taunt ?? that doesnt even work effectivly, we dont even have intimidate.....pfft. The fact that people are going to swords for specials, obviously means we are lacking as an elite profession as far as our specials go. I am sorry folks I love TK so far, but you/we got the BIG F*CK OFF fromthe DEVs.

after reading this i'm so relieved. relieved to see i'm not the only one experiencing the problems with my advanced combo attack.
a few weeks back i sent in a ticket about it. and the csr response was that i wasn't using as strong a weapon as everyone else (so my bare hands aren't as strong as yours... right) and that i wasn't playing my character properly... okay.
so i'm glad to see it's not just me. big wphew there.
also... i agree about the lack of offensive. we're totally gimped compared to any other elite when it comes to damage dealing. yes, i understand... we're highly defensive and can take a beating all day... which is good. because all day is about how long it's going to take to kill the darn thing.
and again, the number of defensive moves we have are rather limited. a defensive boost we can use every 45 seconds... and a knock down we can use every 30... not alot of room to play with in there.
well, that's just me agreeing with everyone, and thank god i'm not crazy about that whole combo attack thing.

I can handle attacks from creatures at my level as well. My problem with TK stems from the fact that I am also a Ranger and make my living on filling contracts.
With the current state of TK... I can take the beating and will kill just about anything under CL85 (have even done up to 90)solo but it takes forever and then I have to sit and meditate before I can move to the next creature. When your trying to fill an order the time constraints are incredible.
Add to this the fact the now we need 2 handed. Prior to CU my extra points were wrapped up in CH so I even had a level22 pet to tank for me or help me take down bigger game.
Don't get me wrong... I like TK and I really like some of the changes made to it... no armor is fantastic and the defenses are great (I think I've been knocked down by an opponent maybe twice since CU). But the damage limitations are killing and it would be far more feasible to respec to MBH or some other profession. Just can't bring myself to do it.
On top of the solo contract filling issue the other thing that bothers me is the "Tanking". I've seen on other places of the forum that you can actually become an effective tank if you take SL or bits of other professions. I consider that a complete insult. Why should I need to take other professions up in order to fulfill the role assigned to me by the devs?
I'm trying to stick to TKM but I'm losing contracts and going broke fast as other Ranger templates can fullfill orders that I no longer can. The answers in this thread give me hope but I can only afford to hold out for so much longer.
