The humanoids use all different types from what I noticed. I thought I saw a cold rifle at one point. Now the droids I think all they do is energy damage, but the damage is HUGE. Not as bad as everyone keeps saying, you will not get 2 shot incapped. It takes about 8-10 shots to the same pool for me, all I wear is 80% armor, no psg (this is why a doc is most important up here). People tend to exagerate when they die with buffs these days, its a shock that to some people there are actually hard things in this game lol.

I've been to the Corvette twice now, and both times I did quite well.

I wasn't hitting for insanely huge amounts of damage, but I wasn't "barely scratching" the target either. We are not that bad off in the Corvette, except possibly against the Super Battle Droids (didn't get to fight those).

We had a few riflemen, two TKAs, a Fencer, and a Heavy Swordsman this last time (as well as Docs) and did very well until we pulled too many aggroes and lost buffs.

The point is that we are not as bad off in the vette as many may believe. There are some opponents that I didn't hurt much, but most of them I was one of the main damage dealers.

No longer holding out hope, SWG will never be the game we fought so hard for, that we believed so much in. Farewell friends.

Yeah I do use a PSG and synthsteak and I would get better armor if there were any.

Oh and here is a SS of what some of the imp npcs are firing in the vette.

I wasnt trying to flame you either and am sorry if it came off that way but ill try to explain what I am saying again.

First, yes my job was to tank. Why was I the last one, when you go up against 3 Super Battle Droids and one regular I dont think they are all going to concentrate on one person. That is why I was the last one standing, too many mobs and my group got disorganized as soon as the third Battle Droid entered combat.

I am not saying you were a bad tank. Its just that everyone is a lousy tank in the vette because you can no longer get them to concentrate their fire on you. They do not go into melee with you like other mobs do when you attack them in melee. And even if you do get them to all attack you they are still using AOE ranged shots that damage a good part of your group.

I went to the Corvette again yesterday. I actually checked the stats of almost everything. The best resists was the Super Battle Droid, 85% kinetic. Only other thing that matched that was the Admirals. Almost everything else ranged from 50%-75%. Most of the rebel mobs had 50-60% resists. This is not an opinion, its fact. I dont think it has anything to do with it being a Rebel or Imp mission. All resists should be the same. I can understand how you thought they had to all be uber resists because its scary to see everything 60k ham + with medium armor. But this Corvette would be almost impossible if the resists were 95% on everything.

Ok even if there is no difference etween the reb missions and theimp missions(which I am not completely sure of yet. you imply that it should be the same but the act 3 missions were not the same for imps and rebs so it cannot be assumed) the fact is that every mob has a very high resist to kinetic vs other attacks which make them all essentially anti-TKA. Your last sentence here is a bit confusing to me as it seems you think that I said that all the resists were high but I am just talking about the kinetic which would not make it impossible for anyone but a TKA which was my point.

As far as saying I didn't hit things for 1-1.5k, I did against the 50-60% mobs. Past that, with the Super Battle Droids, ya those I was scratching for like 300-400. Keep in mind they are supposed to be strong against the kinetic attacks, you need a BH or Pikeman to attack the droids for the real damage. oh and my VK's stats are in the 200's.

Even with 200 dam VKs that is alot of damage considering it is effectively less than 1/4 your normal damage (making your damage about 6k before armor and resists).

Lastly, I just finished the entire Corvette yesterday with no one dying, only one incap, and with TEN mins to spare. Not only did we finsh the assassin mission, we killed everything in the Vette. Our group was the best I have ever seen. We were all experienced players that new what to do. 4 MTK, 1 BH, 1 Doc, 1 Swordsman, and 3 dark Jedi. Ya I know, we had Jedi. Yes that made it easier but even they admitted this was the first time no one died in their group. They were shocked we finished with 10 mins to spare. It just goes to show you if you get the right group and that has enough experience you can do fine in the Vette. btw, if there were no Jedi in our group the only thing we would have had trouble with was the Super Battle Droids, after all that is what killed my first group and we were killing everything up till then.

Yes it is simple to do with the right group. I was just saying that a TKM really has no purpose in the group when it doesnt really do much in the group except be a meatshield. And a poor meatshield at that. My point is that the dungeon would be much better suited to stop the FOTM people from just going to whatever the mobs have the least resist in if the high resists were spread out instead of just gimping one attack type.

Welcome to the world of pikemen

we're a pretty gimped profession as it is... our "uber" loot weapon is from a RANDOM schematic drop from probably the hardest single npc in the game atm.... then u gotta kill herAGAIN hoping that u get the random drop of NS vibro motors needed....so lets see... 450k HAM... heavy armor... 100% resist to kinnetic and electricity (pikemen dmg types) along with some others... well.. doesnt seem too fair to the pikes now does it...tkm is a working profession... now go cry me a river...

I need to light this bowl...feel free to flame on...

ok first things first - the corvette is not supposed to be soloable, which means you as a TKA will be going up with a group.

I'm a master fencer (going to give TKM a try again) and have been up to the corvette loads of times. I do hardly any damage (stun resists are high, as are kinetic), but that doesn't bother me. I justput on my full comp and take the hits, while the rest of the group (riflemen, swordsmen) nail the mind bar. On the Imperial missions I was getting 1 FP per kill - thats how little damage I was doing.

You shouldn't expect to be doing the most damage on the corvette - hell, TKM outdamage most other combat professions everywhere else. Just suit up and play the tank - which is probably the most important member of the group.

TKA's have some advantages on the vette as well. They can get rid of wounds, especially mind wounds, which no other profession can, making them valuable, especially if you have a Combat Medic to heal mind damage, and a squadleader to distribute wounds among your group. Power Boost is also useful, as is Force of Will, especially after getting mind incapped without a CM. Then there is Intimidate, which is a must to put on any NPC there.

And a TKA is not ineffective against most of the mobs there - just not as good as they are used to be

LOL I guess you havent noticed my icon and my sig (hint: I am big and hairy and have as of yet one armor type that sucks which is why I use PSGs and synthsteak). Thus far wooks only have armor with a kinetic layer which is the equivalent to weak ubese (about 50% kinetic and 25% other) which means if I cant get them to go melee I take double damage which equals dead twice as fast and not a very good tank.

BTW did you check out that e11 he is using in the link I posted? That thing rips through my armor like a hot knife through butter.
