Thread: ~TKA. Why are so many people doing it now?~
I'm switching to TKA because I got tired of people screaming, "GRIFF HEAL ME!" every three seconds, with no tips, no thanks, and no gratitude.
At least this way I can enjoy the game. Who cares if people dabble or change classes, let people do what they want to have fun. Calm down somewhat and enjoy the game yourself also.
I've been a Fencer, a Swordsman, and a Pikeman at some point...might as well try TKA, that's the point of the game. From Bounty Hunter, to Combat Medic...now on to continue enjoying the game I pay for. If you don't like it, then ![]()
I'm not seeing many new masters its mainly dabblers who want either powerboost/woundhealing kd2/defence mods
The fact is TKA tree is one of the best designed trees, the biggest bonuses are for master but each tree is rewarding enough to dabble in, thus the influx of dabblers
only my opiniin
I like to solo and play PvE.
TKA is a great choice for that style. I've combined TKA with Creature Handling and Scout and I find it works very well indeed. When I'm in the mood for grouping, there's never a problem getting an invitation.

2/2/3/2 TKA
I've been a tka since day one. In fact the moment I entered the game I put my cdef pistol on the market and never looked back. It's true what they say about tka being more of a (gamewise) lifestyle choice.
Not to sound too "well back in my time" but, it took me almost 40 days to go from the sparkliest new newbie on the block to master tka. I did it 90% solo, and I got master ranger and novice medic in the process. Nowadays I see other players, (albiet maybe smarter) mastering things like doctor and commando first, THEN tka.
So usually it goes something like this: Flame monster, run like hell, moster is on its deathbed, run up and jack monster, burn and punch nest.
Hardly the tka way if you ask me. I still dont even have novice marksman, never had it, never missed it.
And I dont really care how many other people join tka at this point, because those who are joining because of the future fotm thing will be gone just as fast as they arrived, people who want to be uber dont have the patience to learn to live with kiting, crit shots, more kiting and actual work, so trust me, give them 2 weeks after they hit master to pvp their little hearts out, they'll be gone faster than they arrived.
/rant off
Its a recent outbreak of commandos getting bored of getting kicked in the b....
From my point of view(a guy who has been training to become a tk since day 1) i think that they dont deserve the respect of people that really follow tka as a way of playing and a way of thinking.
People like me,who love martial arts irl and people that take the game seriously who want to see their characters become a "swg buddhist monk" are the ones that respect their character.
I say, dont worry about the people taking up tka ,its the new flavor of the month, they will change their minds and drop it once they see how hard it is or once something better has been patched in the game.
I used to be a BH, and went unarmed against some enemys as provided some fun (wasnt brawler) hehe and restarted my character, id never did brawler properly before and as id done some unarmed combat (badly i may add, but won sometimes, those **edit** nunas lol), so yeah went unarmed, was fun, went TK , am now 3/3/3/3 in TK and having so much fun with it, took up smuggler but wow that is just so hard gettin pistol xp for that with just pistol 4,
My only prob comes what to get next (as 3/3/3/3),, Med, Bal, Power, hehe all would yield nice benefits, decisions decisions,
But oh wow its so fun a profffession
