Teras Kasi Archive
Thread: ~TKA. Why are so many people doing it now?~
I think its a game, what do you care if there are 600 master TKA, I'm a Master Doc atm and i see tons of them around now, I don't mind at all, the more Doc's the better, I mean the game has been out for a while, people have mastered what they wanted to from the start, and now they wanna try somehting new, I went up a rifleman tree, now i am a pistoleer, soon i might let go of Doc and go some smugg,
who know's
but the game is getting bigger, some people aren't as dum as you think, and people who group... gain that XP like its nothing, think how many more Doc's/TKA's/ we would have if endor was still around? "starsider sever"
CH was the way to go the from the start, send in your pet and your fine, now you can kick some on ein the head , he falls down and you hit for like 4k, its just abou tthe same thing
Why even ask this question? The game offers us the freedom to make and change our classes at will. People can make their own choices based on any criteria they decide.
A guy who makes a Teras Kasi because he thinks they are uber has exactly the same rights as a guy who made his TK on day one without knowing anything about the class.
Also, with the current indication that mastery of classes will lead to the force sensitive slot opening, it makes sense to master the easy classes first. Teras Kasi is one the easiest.

I am changing from Master CM/Pistoleer to TKM/Doctor because it sounds like fun. I am down to 0004 CM now but up to 2222 TK and loving it. BTW, I wouldn't listen to a Holocron if I had one.

I'm in the process of switching to TK after being a Master Swordswoman for the last 3 months.
If you have to ask why, you haven't been paying attention.
Months of watching the strongest melee buffed up patch after patch while I was nerfed or ignored patch after patch...
I threw in the towel.
I don't know about TKA being a flavor of the month on my server wanderhome. Haven't hardly seen any. As for me I was a bh and my character got borked. I was tired of fighting so I went doc with no plans for a second prof. Got to novice dr. and needed a break from crafting so i started up the pistol and unarmed tree thinking about doing smuggler. Loved the unarmed so much i've decided to to TKA. Then i got curious as to whether there was a philosopy behind TKA. Found a great website that explained the Followers of Palawa. Was interested to find that TKA were formed by a group whose planet was destroyed by Jedi in a battle and they excused the destruction as being for the greater good of the galaxy. The people from that planet moved to the planet bunduki and wanted to set up a group who could stand toe to toe with Jedi as a kind of Jedi watchdog. They believed in the inner force of a person being just as powerful as the jedi use of the outer force. Because they were "Force" users and opposed to Jedi theyare hunted by the empire just like the jedi are. I thought this would be a great chance to roleplay a little and make the game fun. Now I can't wait to get to novice TKA and i'm droping my pistol entirely for it.
People changing professions doesn't always mean they are trying to be uber. Some of us just do what makes the game fun, it is a game isn't it?
i decided to go for TK med tree since im constantly being beaten down as a pikeman. it didnt take long before i wanted to master TK (and this was before all the new TK/melee changes were known). i am pure melee.. so the idea of mastering both pikeman and TK is perfect.. since pikeman has the ability to do different kinds of dmg.. as well as better armor piercing weapons.
I'm doing the same thing, master TKA , master pikeman,
and master brawler hahah.
I have a friend that buffs me and I have power boost.
the brawler skills have saved me so many times. And I still have enought to use in scouting for terrian negotiation/camping/ creature to hit bonus.
Used up all 250 of my skill pts.
Same Here.
I don't think that everyone should get this upset with those who switch to TKA, or even dabble in it.
I wanted to be pure melee when the game started, and Pikeman intigued me. Halfway through it became apparent to me that the class was extremely under-classed and was broken all to high-heaven. But, I stuck with it in hopes of it getting improvements, balances, or something until I reached master. But by the time I reached Master the class still sucked and the Idea of doing any PVP withit was absurd.
I really didn't want to be a ranged guy but I saw that if I am to be of any use to my guildmates in any PVP encounter it is a necessity, so they talked me into becoming a commando.
Well, me feeling like a sell-out aside, I went through master marksmen (which is suprisingly easy compared to levelling a melee class) and did my unarmed 4 prerequisite. Then upon looking at the defense lines in TKA I decided to take a stab at adding that to my repetoir, seeing as how my Master Pikeman skills were still a joke and I could use the extra defense.
What surprised me though, was that once I hit TKA novice and got balance 1, and precision striking one, I'm just about as effective in novice TKA as I am in master Pikeman. Now I don't know if I shouldbe glad about what I found or to be pissed!
So anyway, to make a long story short I'm doing TKA for 4,3,0,4 for meditation, the states defenses, and the combat and melee defenses.
The only things holding me back from dropping my master pike and going Master TKA is the fact that I'm not the type of person that likes to do what everyone else is doing, I like to maintain some of my uniqueness, even at the expense of giving up something that is obviously better, with that being the reason that everyone else is doing it, I'm just hard-headed like that.
I truly belive that the TKA class should be the strongest of all the melee classes if taking one of them one on one, the should be the elite of brawler classes. Although in all honesty I do believe it should have been a hybrid class springing from master brawler for all of the extra perks it allows.
That being said to provide true balance the other melee classes should have had something about them that they each do EXTREMLY well apart from other melee classes, not better per se, but different, and good at being different, and being usefull.
Right now, we do not have this type of balance.
So can anyone truly get upset at those who are flocking to TKA now? It would make more sense to be angry with the games design.
