Thread: Some proposals for TKA

Holo, one thing you seem to be forgetting is that all the majority of these are in groups at all times. As a result we never get to have a 1v1 match because they always have friends with them.
That is completely beside the point, though. Two gulginaws or two wrixes or three swoopers or three motts or even five pharples or swarming kreetles is supposed to be comparable, if they BAF.
Don't think in terms of encounters within the game; we're talking about baseline combat ability here.

In otherwords, what's the justification for us having such high costs?? Are you telling me you are going to be raising this cost for other overpowered classes? Reguardless telling us to not compare ourselves to other classes is just stupid because it seems you have made no effort to balance them, yet you nerf us continuously for every patch.
Heh... go visit the rifleman forum right now, or the creature handler forum anytime, and so on, if you really think that we're singling you guys out for nerfing.
So Holo are you going to ignore my question again? I really want to know where you are going to see this class. I'll repeat it again, its on a previous page.
Where do you see this class in a group?
Do you see us as effective soloers fighting several things in a row for exp or fighting one thing with lots of downtime after while life is on the line? How do you see us as compared to other classes? Where do you see us in this world, are we going to be any use for something or not? Do you see a use for us in groups or solo? What do you see us doing as masters?
Do you see action here as fast paced, or everquest style slow and lots of downtime?
Put the timer on the receiving end.
If something gets hit with KD...then you are immune to another KD for a set amount of time.
This would eliminate "you miss once you die" and would allow the possibility to handle multiple targets.
That's great, however the key phrase is "against a maxed out TKA" This doesn't address those, myslef included, who are still working to get to that maxed out level.

We may not be drastically underpoweed - maybe -- but we are absolutely NOT OVERPOWERED by any stretch of the imagination. In PvP it is no contest - we're not only non overpowered, but we can hardly compete. In PvE - all I can say is, if you turn this into a game where I can't fight anything but stupid durnies to get 50 XP per kill and that's how I'm supposed to make the millions of XP it takes to be master -- then I guess I'm done here.
OK--don't measure against PvP. If you measure against other unabalanced professions, you're going to be lacking an objective baseline.
Dopn't measure against PVP? Arguably one the biggest aspects of the game, and we're not supposed to measure against that? Wether they're unblanced or not, we have to measure against the other professions, because that's all that is available to us.

But they're missing the point that pistoleers are way OVERpowered, and so is most everyone else.
THANK YOU!
I completely agree, it's fabulous now that I know the devs are thinking the same thing.
So I guess Pistoleer is about to get wacked like hell with the Nerf Bat now? All I hear is how powerful pistoleer is. How much more powerful we are then any other class. I'd love a gun at Novice Pistoleer that hit for over 2000. Bring it on. I'd love to be able to knockdown repeatedly from 64m and never have my opponent be able to fire a weapon. Bring it on. The problem isn't that Pistoleer is too powerful it's that when one class has something that is broken they can't just say "Please fix this." no, they have to whine about some other class, so they will get nerfed. Don't you realize they will continue to complain until they are more powerful than the other classes and this is thier only goal.
Pistoleer USED to be overpowered, maybe. But after the cost changes in PistolMeleeDefense1.. No. I don't think so. But thank you to everyone else who cries about Pistoleer, you will help to ruin another profession just because yours is messed up.

OK, so what exactly are we supposed to get for all these swarms of creatures, just to let you know, these creatures give less than 100 XP each to me (and that's for the big ones like wrixes, swoopers in fact only give 1 XP), and it isn't very much fun to be forced to fight the same exact things that I was fighting a month and a half ago because anything better will just smack me around.

But PvP is where it's at. I understand what you guys are trying to do---make PvE more challenging than it has been for many professions (including TKA). But PvE is sideshow compared to the GCW. So long as other professions have devistating ranged attacks they can use with ease and very little cost to themselves (massive bleed effects, knockdown, mindshot)--effectively killing players in 1 or 2 shots--the TKA and the other melee classes are going to always be unbalanced.
