No we are you not ! If you manage to mind incap yourself then your SPAMMING your moves way way too much.

PB, drink brandy and eat canape. You should never mind incap yourself ! You need to be tactical.. fighting using tactics - using the right special at the right time is way better than spammin and incapping yourself !

Only time ive lowered my own ham was before i learnt when and how to use specials and when i used vk's unbuffed.

Personaly all i can say is tk is fine as it is, its the best melee proffesion most dangerous and therefore also most used boring with all the tkm out in the galaxy, Ive been tk, master fencer master swordsman and master brawler and so far tk seems best mostly because of all the meditate but also because of their nice dizzy kd attack, ive noticed that as a master fencer brawler i can dish out more dmg with my 165-280 gaffi stick than a tkm can, fencer feels pretty good as it is, only thing i dont like is our best weapon being an ugly brown metal stick, about swordsman: i think it sux, to low accuracy to low speed and to low dmg it sux in general, And also the weird thing about a hammer being the most dangerous weapon to use and not a sword, havent tried out polearms but from what ive heard it sounds like it would be best not to try it.

Honestly This game is so far from realistic its hard to judge what they should do to Teras Kasi. Bruce lee, Chris chan, and their fellow Kung Fu peoples know how to kill someone in one punch. It takes a lot more than one punch to just incapacitate someone in the game, not kill them. So if you were to make it more realistic then 1-2 punches that connect well can incapacitate. Then where do all the specials come in? see it really all comes down to how realistic of a fighting system this is to be, as of now it is not realistic at all. Bruce lee would break every bone in his hand hitting composite armor.... Get where i'm comming from? I do believe however since this isnt very realistc that at close range, Teras Kasi's should be the fastest by far, and do amongst the highest damage, if not the highest. They should not however be allowed to take much punishement at all against people that have melee weapons. They should rely on numerous counters, blocks, and dodges.. not taking lots and lots of sword swipes to the body. They should have no armor peircing unless using the vibro knucklers, which should contribute much more damage to the attacks than they currently do. Again, it all comes down to realism, and as of now this game is as far from that in every way as the sun is from the earth. I dont know much about games and all this stuff, but hopefully this common sense will help give a little insight.

hmm after thinking things over maybe we should have our damage lowered somewhat and have some defensive counterattacks added

Absolutely would not give up spin attacks. Those attacks make the game fun to play. I don't play to do major damage. I play for the enjoyment of it! If I wanted to just auto fight, I would KD/Warcry/Bezeerk. How fun would that be EVERY SINGLE BATTLE. That would suck! The spin moves are what I like about TKA. I can throw a bunch of different moves at an opponenant. Not the same old stuff. Getting rid of the spin attacks would be a major mistake. I would probably quit playing the game.

I have to agree with what some of you have said, tka is PERFECT right now besides that it needs to hit faster.. maybe a 0.5 cap with half the damage. so same DPS but just overall faster than the other profs.

and lets give pike a lil support, they need it. Now there is a broken profession.

I just got TKM a few days ago and overall, I like TK the way it is. TKM should be the ultimate toe to toe fighter, and it is. Anyone who stands close and battles me is a gonner. If I get caught at distance, I'm a gonner. As it should be.

To me, when I think of a TKM, I think of Jet Li, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, etc. Note that while these guys do have RL martial arts skill, their myth was built on film exploits. Real life basis and film glory. That is what TK should be. We do things in game that aren't realistic, but it adds to the experience and is a product of game physics. If we move toward Realism, then I would fully expect Master Riflemen to "one shot, one kill" in PvP from 1000m out. It may be consistant with reality, but do you really want that in game?

Read this through and then flame on, I don't care. I have waited for this game for over 20 years. I'm afraid it is doomed to go by the wayside, all in the name of class balancing! Since this in really EQ in Space ... I really like TKM! It was forced on me by Holo grinding and is the single best thing that has happened in the game! I played an Iksar Monk in EQ and loved it.

Melee players in general should be the last think that anyone wants to fight, it's our job to hold the agro of the group or team's target. Because of that we should be "stronger" than any other class.

As a TKM you are the master of your body, no Jedi mind tricks here! If you do the reading, the TK was about the only thing that a Jedi feared (that might not be the correct term to use). We should not have to wear armor - all saving throws should get better as we progress toward Master. Running speed should increase. We should always have a chance (at Master) to dodge an attack, be it melee or ranged, heal faster etc. VK's are a crutch for UA brawlers to use because our hands are so slow, but a 2.2 sec round time should only change via a slice not our ability to get faster combat wise. Likewise the damage from a VK also should not increase, at some point approaching Master your hand speed drops to the 1 sec RT cap and damage increased way beyond any Uber VK.

Play the race you want to, play the class you want to, not because it is better but because it fits you. Gaming is your chance to truly be what ever you want. Leave childish things for the real world. So flame on children .. have fun!

I am working on TKA now, currently I am 0-0-3-2 and love it. Being a Master Doc really helps because I can move all my stats to mind, willpower, and focus. I am virtually unstopable on Dantooine.

As far as everyones concerns maybe the way to go would to have options to choose in each box. For example when getting the first box you would have a choice of choosing between +5 damage attack, or +5 Counter Attack.

This could work for all professions, and would make the game more fun. When dueling TKA's you would not necessarily have the same skill pool.

This would be just 1 more way to customize your character, and make him what you want.

Nobody could complain about being under powered, or over powered because the way the character is would be totally up to you.

For the record I have done fencer, and pikeman too while holo grinding. Both are awesome. Fencer is very nice because of the bleed, and pikeman packs a huge punch. But TKA is fast and fun to watch. I would like to see more fighting graphics (maybe they will come as I get better) but things like jump kicks andSteven Segal clothlines would be cool.

It would also be nice to have a larger weapon range. For example things like numb-chucks and throwing starts would be a nice addition to our arsenol.

I gave up the silent holo grind for TKA, it was time to have fun and enjoy the game. And so far I have not been dissapointed.

The fencers bleed isnt that good... But dizzyhit 2 rocks... As a blademaster i think that TK is better, more thought has been put into making the profession, which is a shame because other melee professions have really good potential but its nowhere near TK... Im working on Tk right now, but im only a novice TK so dont laugh ... but hey, maybe im wrong, ill have to get TKM to truly see if its that much better... But the one thing i know is... TK has the coolest animations

I started as TK because i was told it is the best melee class, read "Up close and Personal" (I Love Tankin) and aside from the struggle of actually becoming one it has been a really ideal class for my game style.
I never really have understood our place in the galaxie though as I never saw any Hand-To-Hand type fighting in any of the movies, swordplay certainly, Kicks and Punches no. On the other hand, use of the force isn't really our forte' as some people have suggested it might be...Let me explain.
The movie story line makes it clear that Force users have a clear understanding of the "force" that is in everything, and can consequently manipulate it. To varying degrees of course.
We as TKA's have a deep understanding of the balance of OUR bodies and minds, and possibly at higher levels how to affect that balance in other living things as well. To that end we are able to administer controlled, powerful blows with crippling precision and impressive speed. Hence the kinetic DMG.
It seems to me that our second damage type..if we get one...should be disruptive. In other words, damage to internal organs etc. caused by concentrating our KA or whatever and disrupting that critical flow of organic energies.
As far as how we fit into the force...well, IMHO, we do as far as our own bodies go....but probably wouldn't know how to manipulate it outside of our bodies.
