I try but it is hard when all around you do not hehe.

I always /bow2 whilst talking to anyone.

As for armour and buffs, I use them, I would be a fool not to as I am also a Trandoshan everything is about the hunt first, anything else comes second place. The only way I have managed to keep the Jedi in line so far is to kill a Dark force prophet, (he had a red saber, 13k ham and 40% resists to everything, luckily I knocked him down and dizzied otherwise I would have been toast) hehe.

So really, I have to be practical about things, if people around me are RP'ing then I will also but there is no point if its just a load of leets walking about, they'll just look at you funny and/or start with the insults.

Ikeep my character as a quietly spoken Trandoshan who is polite to all and is always looking to TKA's to help train. I will help people with money if I feel they deserve it but being TrandoshanI realise thereis always something to hunt for money.

I believe everyone has their own interpretation on how to RP their character. You Spambroki seem to RP your toon as a preacher/holy man/monk, staying humble and talking about enlightenment etc (nothing wrong with that ). I RP my toon as a Doctor who possess TK skills, I keep to myself and only show my skills during self defense. I don't preach the word for I don't believe that is the Teras Kasi way, remember that Teras Kasi was developed in secrecy and practiced discretely. Just my two credits

When I reach TKM, I'll start RPing. I always wear my "Warrior" title (I'm already a Master Swordsman) and that will be the way I RP... as a warrior. I'll be sort of a "tough guy" that is always looking to start a fight.

I think that it is easier to roleplay when the grind is done.

So my character is going to start after I finnish Pikeman Defense tree making him pure Melee.

I will not wear armor, use vk's and only use buffs for war.

Just me in my skirt : }

I know ! I know ! They are so enlightened that they are no longer shackled by the chains of enlightenment. They wear their composite armor because it allows them to achieve a universal oneness, looking like every other shmoe in composite (grey). They pursue a state of such emptyness that they are constantly exploding into action, particularly on pikets, because umm they disturb the universal oneness... and stuff. And someone read somewhere in a swg book TK's are supposed to pwn jedi.

This is a loose translation of the Teras Kasi Scripture. Your mileage may vary.

But really I do admire someone, anyoneroleplaying a percieved role. For a small population roleplay has become an artform, one I enjoy seeing, and encourage it in all its forms. I hope the roleplaying movement continues to grow.

I roleplay an artisan who was abuducted by the dragon cult and programmed by theirancient neural manipulation acupunctureskills toserve them as a masterassassin. When the command word is said I turn into a martial arts master who kills without emotion. But after each murder I silently weep for the dead as I am released from my hypnotic suggestion. My Codename:

Crying Freeman!

Exscuse me....

but where does it say you have to be a poor humble polite budist monk to be a TKA?

in no documentation I've read did the TK show signs like this.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Quoted from the TKI.net:

The Teräs Käsi are thought to be sensitive to changes in the Force, and Teras Kasi Masters are feared by the Jedi. But Teras Kasi are not generally Force users as Jedi are: Teras Kasi draw internal, personal power, while Jedi draw from everything around them.

There is a secretive group called the Followers of Palawa who were formed from the remnant civilians of a long-ago battle which devestated their home world of Palawa, a war which involved the awsome powers of the Jedi Council. The few survivors of Palawa migrated to a nearby world called Bunduki, a world in the Pacanth Reach of the Outer Rim conquered by the Epicanthix, where they learned Teras Kasi and vowed to keep the Jedi use of power in check.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Wouldn't this imply that they would look like anyone wear anything so they could keep an eye on the destroyers of the home planet?

I mean look at several of the newest movies, specificaly "Bullet proof monk" He didn't look the part of a monk in the time that he found his replacement.... he realized thatto survive he needed to blend in....

That is how I'm roleplaying my character, as someone who was Found to have the potential to become one of the greatest Followers of Palawa, he has been strictly instructed to disavow any knowledge of the sect, he has also been instructed to search others like himself out for further training..

this would explain his suddenly unlearning skills like master pistoleer, marksman , medic, and scout.

Nothing is ever going to make me give up Creature handler hehe

Playing as a Trandoshan, it's rather unlikely for me to assume the role of a Teras Kasi "Buddhist" Monk as stated by the original poster.

SpamBroki

"I mean we're the equivalent to Buddhist Monks and yet I see most of us wearing armour, riding around in vehicles and completely ignoring the begging of n00bs"

I roleplay as aproud Trandoshan hunter, who's goal it is to fight the meanest and most dangerous beast that can be found all across the galaxy. I do not care about begging n00bs, because showing his own weakness in such an obvious manner is not a sign of honor but I will always help people I meet when I am out hunting on Dathomir or anywhere else. Although I joined the rebel forces, I believe in an anarchistic way of life and don't care much about the galactic civil war, as long as I am not directly affected. Most of the time I wander the galaxies alone and tell people that I was sent on a journey to prove myself as the rightful leader of my clan on Dosha. I hate those fluffy little Ewoks for saying "yub yub" and "nub nub" all day long and I am not the best friend of those dull minded Wookies either.

RPing a TK = good.

RPing a DBZ fanboy = bad.

That said, I roleplay (mostly with myself) a former Rebel Lieutenant that took up Teras Kasi to find inner peace.

My primary character is a Trandoshan and i play him as a "priest" of The Scorekeeper, the Trandoshan Goddess of the Hunt. Therefore, he must be able to be a highly proficient fighter and hunter. The character is therefore a TKM and i'm only one box away from Master Ranger as well, with some basic healing skills thrown in. I consistently roleplay training new TK students, and require them to know the names of the various moves in order to have me train them to the next level. I wear simple clothing, no armor, and have set up a temple on Dantooine near the central Kunga caves (Radiant). I also have ceremonial robes for performing priest functions such as weddings and city dedications, and also a martial arts set of clothes left over from my membership in a dojo player association. This is probably the closest to your "Buddhist monk", but i assure you, he is no Buddhist...

I know at least one guy who does and it reminds me of a funny story. This guy is a TKM and Master Commando... essentially a bad ass, but I was one of a few who, at the time, didn't know what this really meant . The rp scenario was for him to be captured and beaten.

So in order to capture him he selected duel for everybody so we could chase after him with Blaster fire while he's running away. While this is going on, he's doing spatial chat, but in the guild chat he's telling everybody to stay back. Well I didn't know why and I got too close and BAM! incapped for 100seconds by his autoattack.

Then later we had him in a house where he was supposed to be tortured and beaten into giving information we had a guy at the far end of the house shooting at him while he was against the wall. Well the house wasn't big enough andthis guy got a little too close and BAM! he's down. Finally we had him /kneel while we beat on him, but it took a while to do any damage.

I thought it was hilarious... and that's also when I decided I wanted to be a TKM no matter what.
