damn, sorry. anyway **edit** you atone. tka is too powerful. i don't care what other professions are broken. how many times have you tk's lost a duel to other melee fighters or ranged fighters? aside from riflemen and cms

tkm's destroy almost every profession and it's not because we play better, it's because we're overpowered. I myself can't wait for a giant nerf or the cold day in hell when the magical combat pass comes.

first of all I seem to get my ass kicked all the time by ranged fighters. So obviously its not TKA thats overpowered and before you start I know some other TKA's that have the same problem so how are we overpowered again? WERE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

damn you people really have to get off this nerf crap TKA is the only profession that works right at the moment. Try to get the broken classes fixed don't come on our board and whine and cry that we need nerfing.

*sigh*

I swear I hate coming to these boards. I just know there are going to be tons of nerf posts *sigh*

I need a vacation

People need to stop crying nerf this and nerf that. Right now TKA and Rifleman are the least broken professions, except for that rifelman bug. The other professions are way broken, once they get fixed everyone will be on par. Nerfing this profession won't fix the others, they will still suck because they are still broke.

Actually posts like these only encourage them...

Best way to treat whiners is to ignore them. Psychologically, they are usually immature attention seekers afflicted with the "spoilt little rich brat" syndrome.

The typical whiner's vocabulary is usually dominated by the phrase, "I want!"...closely followed by "If I don't get, I'll hold my breath until I turn blue"...

And if this doesn't work, then it's whine, cry, whine, whine, cry,,,(repeat until I get what "I want!")...

Actually, a suggestion to our correspondent, in the interest of making this forum a true and meaningful TK discussion board. Any way of suspending these people (easily identified) for a period of time...sort of like the smack on the buttocks you'd give a toddler...

I don't think your arguement about earning credits makes much sense. SWG was designed in such a way that NO player should be self-sufficient. TKM is very close to that in its current form. I don't need armor to survive PvE or PvP combat of any type, I only use 1 weapon and it isn't really necessary unless fighting against armored opponents, I can heal my own wounds, I can buff myself, and I can revive myself from incap. The only thing we cannot do is heal BF. With only a 92 skill point investment, we are one degree removed from being a 1-person army. Show me any other class that holds a candle to our abilities, heck show me any combination of 2 classes that can. Why should we be able to make money by doing anything other than missions? We are trained killing machines, not savvy business men. I don't know about you, but I can easily solo 25k missions, that can lead to a lot of credits. TKM is not balanced with the rest of the elite combat professions, and if we leave it to the Dev team to "balance" us with everyone else we will be very disappointed.

If you look at the majority of hybrid professions they are pretty self sufficient. Why? Because of the skill point investment. There is not one hybrid profession that needs to do missions to earn their credits! Missions were supposed to be a way players could come into the game durring lunch and go off and make a few credits they are not ment as money making machines. And to be quite honest 25k a mission is nothing when I can use my left over skill points from TKA to pick up the novice artisan line and sell over 100,000 of any resources at 5 CPU or more with little time investment other than supplying power/maintenance to the harvesters and retrieving the resource. Or I could pick up scout and supply armorsmiths and others with the hide/bone/meat they require to make their items at a very large profit margin. Even better I could drop master brawler, pick up architect and sell buildings for 180,000 a peice. Or weaponsmith and supply the newFeatherWeight FWG5's to the community for 20,000 a peice.

My point here is that unlike the majority of Hybrid Professions TKA is specifically a combat profession. TKA's have no wares to sell, they have no skills other than their pure tanking power to offer. This is why they are an ELITE profession and do not require Master Brawler, or other skills from other profession lines. Which is why we have so many skill points left over to use towards other professions. It's honestly a means of income for me and many of the other TKM's. Your proposal to make TKM a hybrid profession won't stop or slow down the people who are becomming TKA for the simple reason that the majority of people in this game have a tendancy to play Flavor Of the Month with their professions irreguardless of the skill point investment. And in all honesty you can master the entire medic tree in an hour or two with someone tumbeling so it's not exactly a time factor either.

As for being blanced with "Pikeman, Carbineer, Pistoleer, Heavy Swardsman". First and foremost I'd take pistoleer out of that list all togeather. I just mastered pistoleer myself and was quite capable of killing beasts I could only dream of while TKM. The only problem with Pistoleer is that the weapon certifications are messed up, the best weapon in the pistoleer tree (the repubic blaster) right now doesn't even require you to have a novice marksman certification. Thismakes leveling up to novice pistoleer extremely easy however once you get at that level your don't get access to any real better weapons so it just becomes a slow leveling treadmill as you traverse through the tree. Granted pistoleers don't do nearly as much dammage per shot as TKA however they can go prone and induce a bleed peace if the animal hasn't detected them then wait till it's down in health enough to1 shot kill.Carbineer I can't speak for as I've never touched a carbide but I suspect it suffers the same problem as the rest of the marksman tree. To easy to begin with because of the messed up certification system, and too hard to level after that. Heavy sword and pikeman do need help but as I've stated many MANY times their profession will only ever be fixed if they go to their own forum and work with their corrospondant to try to get their issues resolved. As far as I can tell from the 11+ professions I've mastered TKA is no more powerful than the best combat professions in the game, however there are a number of combat professions which have suffered from bad corrospondants or an inability to prove their points to the developers. It's not our professions fault if we are better able to communicate with the developers in order to have our issues addressed and fixed. So I fail to see why we should be punished for going through the propper channels, offering options, giving numbers and proving our points on why we should have specific attributes/abilites.

BTW the reason you see so many TKA's around comes down to the fact that anyone can claim a TK Student title as long as they have unarmed combat. This means any Commando, Smuggler, or master brawler could claim a TK Student title thus causing a little bit of paranoia and second guessing on the PvP field. "Did I just get low blowed by a TK Student?" "Did that TKA Just feign death?" "I just got lit on fire by a TK Student!". Not to mention all the hologrinders. Many people can wear the title, but there are few real TKA's around.

tataomm, i wouldn't be so open on admitting you couldn't beat a tkm with your bh. that's just poor planning for the fight.

i am fine with your suggestion by making master brawler a req but not the med line. what does meditate have to do with being a doc?

now for the not fearing other profs as a tka: a little bit of a overstatement. have you fought a pistoleer/smuggler/fencer? the carbineer has a pretty wicked kd also. i've been on my butt for the whole fight against a few of them. fencers can beat us also....so can swordsman.
this statement, "I am not saying that TKM is a unbeatable foe, I have been dropped many times in PvP by a smarter opponent, every time I've died though it was because I made a mistake, not because I was overmatched.", kind of contradicts itself.

I have no problem admitting that I got owned as a BH. To make a BH into a viable PvP character takes a lot more skill and understanding of the game than I ever had. Once I made TKM I had access to specials that make PvP several orders of magnitude easier. I hate to let the cat out of the bag, but as TKM and an average skilled player it's hard to lose against an average player with most other templates. Example: I was dueling a Master Pikeman yesterday because we both wanted to practice a little, we were both unbuffed. Once the duel was initiated, I hit: Warcry, UAKD2, UAHit3 and he was dead without ever getting a single attack off. I appologized to him after he got up for incaping him so soon. I'm sure that it wasn't much fun for him.

Anyway, back to the point. Meditate allows us to do a lot of things that other players need medics or doctors for, hence a requirement for at least 1 tree from medic. I know that you are saying that "Meditating" is not "Healing", but the outcome is the same. If we follow your logic then why does a BH need the Trapping or Survival trees from scout? It's there to make BH harder to obtain, just like something needs to be in place to make TKM harder to obtain.

When I said that I wasn't concerned with other professions, I was only comparing professions, not templates. Fencer/Pistoleer is a defensive stacked template that would give me a lot of trouble. However fighting a fencer or a pistoleer is not a problem. Once again I never said that other professions couldn't beat a TKM, just that they would have to get lucky or be a much better player than I am, which is very possible .

Lastly, what about that last statement contradicts itself? Maybe the way I said it wasn't clear. Let me rephrase: Most of the people I fight against are probably better gamers than I am, but being a TKM affords me quite a handicap. I can beat much better players because of the profession I have mastered not my ability to play the game. Most times when I do lose, I can see the mistake I made that determined the outcome. Does that make more sense?

Didn't TH release some metrics several months ago that said that TKM was the most mastered elite profession in the game?

Actually TKA was on the list but it wasn't anywhere near the most mastered profession. IIRC Creature Handler, Commando, Pistoleer, and a number of other professions beat out TKA bya large margin.

uhm mavil I'm not sure if you are familar with my older posts so why don't you take a look at bonecircus's little link to one of my posts....

If you read through my first post you will notice that I used to hate ranged weapons and that I was always a TKA so I did not just join them cause I could not beat them *sigh* I AM ONE YOU MORON and have been one since day one..

and no we are not overpowered

learn how to beat us

Ranged people seem to have no problem beating us as long as they kite and stay away from us

so LEARN how to use your profession before you cry nerf *sigh*

I think you are referring to a post of mine not Atone. I have been beaten plenty of times by plenty of professions, so we can certainly be beaten. I think TKM should have some more pre-req's not be nerfed.
