Doing what standing in cnet? fighting no db with all the other scruffy looking nerf hurder's? The fun is gone, i'm not a pwr gamer, i enjoyed maybee pop'n in a couple of hours a night gettin a bit of xp , maybee flyin a mission or 2, then checkin any harv's and house condition's. i have a life usually work 60+ hours a week and dont have time to look for a group to go kill 1 baz nitch, sorry i didnt say a word about the cu till i seen it. IT"S pathetic. can it, fix it, or lose 2 paying customers its that simple.

My impression is that TKA is extremely buggy and the TK portions of this thing were clearly not pushed live with the polish one would like. (Not playing any other combat profs besides CH, I can't speak for any others of course.)

Some Highlights (or lowlights)

  1. After being rather pleased that meditate/powerboost gave me +500 health last night, I found out that medidate is broken today, making me less able to "tank" than I otherwise could.
  2. I found it interesting that equipping VKs cuts my damage in HALF, and no this is not just against things with energy resistance. Even against things with no resistance, I do half damage with the VKs equipped.
  3. I for one have a very hard time telling the difference between the "available" and "unavailable" intensity of the icons. They need to darken them WAY more.
  4. It seems TKA is going to become an exercise in lots of button clicking... besides attacking you'd better hit that center of being button every 40 seconds or you are going to have problems.
  5. It's quite clear that there needs to be a "move order" to TKA. But I have not yet worked out the sequence. I'm thinking, possibly, Center - Knockdown (sweep or lunge) - Armor break - Dizzy - (now the thing gets up but is dizzy and has lowered defenses) - Strike - Combo - Strike... back to Center, KD, etc.
  6. One thing I really would like is if the KD move just took as long to recharge as the KD timer, so I could know when to use it or when it will be wasted. Not an issue in the past because a TKA could just kill the thing before the KD timer was up anyway, so you never bothered with more than one KD (or at least I didn't). But now that our damage output is lower we will need to do multiple KDs per battle and I'm not sure of the timing yet. I think as a fudge I may always follow Center with KD, since by then the timer should be up for KD (Center takes 40ish seconds to evaporate).
  7. I found out that I had to pay way more attention to icons everywhere -- on my toon, on the target, which ones are recharged. I'm not good at keeping my eye on 25 things at once, so I'm not sure how this will play out yet.
  8. I was very disappointed in our animations. With all the great ones they have sitting in the barn doing nothing, it's pathetic that we look like boxers now instead of martial artists.
  9. I hate the particle effects on everything and its brother. I can't see what is going on half the time.

Those are my impressions after 24 hours.

Unfortunately I am forced to agree with my Teras Kasi colleagues that have posted before me. We have been grossly under-powered in this combat upgrade. The Teras Kasi is the order that observes and keeps the Jedi in line according toall knownStar Wars mythology. The Teras Kasi professionas it stands in game now, is uninspiring andslow.I dare say, it is seemingly useless outside of a group.

When I first tested on TC I almost felt we had been deliberatelytrounced for our years as a well belanced and high powered profession. It feels like we are gettingpunished for enjoying a long running reign of respect and power amongst the other professions.

I have no doubt that the Teras Kasi should remain an extremely powerful profession. If the devs feels that another profession should be put in its place to equalize the group combat shemethey have envisioned, they should do so. If they feel Teras Kasi should not be easily attainable they should introduce a quest systemon a smaller scale that would enable players to become a Teras Kasi. I would recommend a systemsimilar to the village for the Jedi, but much smaller scale. However... to take this way of life, that is similar to that of a Jedi (its not a profession its a belief) and reduce it to what it currently is, is so far outside of what Star Wars mythologydescribes it as, I would rather see it excluded from the game than put to shame.

The Teras Kasi are a proud group of warriors, we should be rare and prized, almost as much as the Jedi. Thats not my opinion, thats the story of the Teras Kasi plain and simple.

The best part was getting in group with my guild and we are actually fighting at the same mission. What sucks is being incapped and dieing constantly. I like being able to fight without armor but does anyone know how do i know when the innate armor is actually working or not? Anyone have a clue? Armor doesn't seem to be working period. But It could just be me. I know it was working last night though. Cause i don't. tk/pike makes for a nice combination with just enough medic to heal myself. I like this template but may try a ranged template next time i log in. Low points taking solo missions and only getting 1k xp for each successful kill but when i took missions closer to my level, i got my but kicked. At one spot on Dath, a guildmate of mine counted 20 escaped nightsister slaves. Is that a bit much for a spawn? Agree. Didn't matter whether or not I had a carbine or vk's. I was getting into an epic fight on regular missions every time I drew one that sucessfully spawned long enough for me to complete it.

Not another Headache, i will fight them off with my unarmed weapon that isn't working, lol.

Once upon a long time ago. One of my friends ingame got me to try out TKM even though I was adamantly against it. So began the pre CU era of my carbineer/TKM toon.

While it was extremely powerfull in the low to mid range mobs. It gave me a damage type that I could use when those pesky NS's decided to jump me on dath. While not powerfull against the higher level stuffit gave me a chance to either fight it out or get the heck out of there. It was also one of the few working professions in the game, which helped. Before buffs Power Boost was a boon to me as I was a twi'lek carbineer. It really extended my fighting capabilities (740HAM to 1190ham) and gave me a much better chance of winning. Force of will saved my bacon more than a few times. And the added defense was a welcome addition to an otherwise defenseless carbineer.

After the CU I can say that the added defenses are welcome. If they counted for something. Powerboost has a warm-up? Didn't yesterday. Innate armor was great yesterday when it worked. Too bad my clothes decayed to 0 after one mission. I would wear armor but the devs left me with three choices. ST battle armor, to which my twi'lek toon is unable to wear the helmet. Padded armor which looks.....interesting in a weird sort of way. And bone armor which when converted is pretty good, and I like the look of it. FOW is useless. The things that DB will do so at any range. Those are the things you want to use FOW on. The things that didn't would leave me alone but why bother with wasting that ability if your not going to die? So I haven't used it. Center of being. Looks like it works except that my avatar will stop fighting and just stand there and take damage. Not good when you can only heal yourself once a min. A weak heal at that. My most damaging attack comes from the novice brawler tree. Melee strike. The states are nice if they actually mean something. Still no bleeds. The lack of attacks really sucks.

I think it ironic that the devs take one of the few working professions and break it the way they did. But whatever. They had to push the CU when it was still bugged to heck. And in the process necroed alot of bugs they took care of over the past two years.

Good job devs. Thank god my account expires on the 1st.

I am Master TK/Master Smuggler with some pistoleer and so far my experience has been pretty good. The smuggler holds really compliment the TKM when your cowardly ranged opponent tries to run away like a scared school girl.

My son is a Master BH and he had a mission for a Jedi today. This was a fun hunt but when found the jedi was in his house. He was cool about it and came out for a friendly duel and we went at it. I held my own with the Jedi but could not keep up with the heals he had until I took off the VK's and realizedI do much more damage with bare fists. He was real close to incapping me whenI landed a last ditch and down he went. I honored my word and no DB. He got up we exchanged some great conversation and went our seperate ways.

I then went off to hunt and help my son with his grind to master Carbineer. We fought everything we could find on dantooine and then headed off to dathomir to fight rancors.

All in all I had a great day in the CU. I do not agree with all the changes but I believe in making the best of things. I really, really miss the animations and truely hope we get them back.

Now I wont lie, I do miss my godlike soloing but I have to say I am enjoying the challenge of harder fights and trying to master the new system.

The CU is by no means complete and IMO should have spent a few more weeks on test and really should have been on regular test center prior to the whole frog managerie on TC-3. There are many bugs that the real testers (no insult intended to anyone on TC-3) would have found and helped work out prior to release if given more time with the CU.

whats the point of me having unarmed speed CA? if for every 5 ptsI get -0.01 that just sad at least make it so that for every pt we get -0.01 taken off our speed

Meditate works but you have to use /sit first

I would like some of the old animation back the new ones are a bit bland.

I would like to have FoW actually do something useful besides incaping me

Besides that I guess its alright It makes me spend time with my guildies now like them good old days before buffs. It takes some time getting used doing stuff with someone all the time now.

I am sorry Mankind, I have to agree with several others. I went into this CU with decently positive outlook.. but I had NO fun tonight... it wasn't exciting to me at all. All I did was do everything I could to get my Health bar as high as I could and stand there and take hits, with boring animations, while the other members of the group worked their arces off to kill it. We tried to do a gurk mission, level 78.. I am level 80 and I couldn't kill it..nor could a group of others who were all hitting and shooting at it...it was more frustrating than fun, and now I don't even want to go into battle...

The only good thingI noticed is I like the new combat music...
