Gutshot I appreciate your post, and of course you are entitled to your opinion, as am I mine. You are obviously a much better player than I am if you didn't need knockdown to keep xp rolling in when you were five boxes into TK. I have needed it since the moment I got it.

I do think you are giving me way too much credit if you think SOE is going to personally consult me on future TK issues.

What I am interested in, is pointing out possible alternatives for people who haven't given up. And there are a lot of points that you make that have just never been my experience. You say TK has never been good at anything PVE except single knockdownable mobs. And yet I have watched my two real life friends, both TK masters hold down multiple high con mobs and ultimately defeat them. Before my one friend was a TK master, he and I held down and defeated seven - seven - nargalatchs at once. That was back when I had balance I and nothing else. We almost died, you bet, but we didn't. Could we do that today? Maybe, but probably not. Regardless, I disagree with your claim that TK's could do nothing in PVE but go one one one with a knockdownable mob previous to this patch.

I am not here to say all is well. I am however here to mention viable options for people still looking to play the game. Do HAM costs need looked at? Sure. Is it impossible to play, is TK runied, is it the end of the world? No it is not. I guess the main difference is between people who thrive on the negative, who feel miserable and unhappy all the time, and peoeple who adjust, who look for the ways to thrive in any situation, who are more interested in accuracy about issues than about over-exaggerating problems, making all or nothing claims, and comming off sounding ridiculous.

I strongly question whether or not SOE will be more inclinded to listen and respond to over-exaggerations, all or nothing statements, and gross exaggerations of the problems than they will honest examination of the issues, and people looking for thoughful dialogue rather than over-generalized angry rants. You've seen the bulk of posts today. I appreciate that people are upset. But do you think that these are the kinds of posts that will make Devs go "wow, what valid points - we'd better get on that!" No, these are the same dime-a-dozen grudge-fest bitch posts that get constantly ignored on the SWG Main boards.

For the record, I read a post that said Devs have acknowedged HAM costs with equipped knuckles are bugged, and indiciated a fix woudl be made - can anyone confirm? For the record, I don't disagree with the general desire to be valuable. But neither am I going to lie about my direct experiences playing the game. If you're looking for ways to be successful post-patch, let's talk about that. If you feel I'm cutting in on your ability to bitch and whine and rant, well tough.

I think that the changing or non-changing of issues with the TK class will in fact be effected precisely ZERO percent by anything I have to say.

Yeah, i participated in a few of the "new non-knockdown techniques" threads today but they got buried *really* quickly. My main contribution was how chitin, intimidate, blind and stun can be your friend taking down white cons with no knockdown midway through the tera kasi tree. Please don't ask me to find it, I can't even find my own posts in this mess, lol.

Seriously, folks will still be able to advance in tk even post-patch with the kd nerfs. I just think that it's sort of cruel to let them do so when they realize that getting tk master will still mean a white con will spank them silly now even at master level when we can't pin them down with a nice firm knockdown =)

As of now, I personally feel that the road to TK Master is too difficult and not worth the trip. I really felt they went overboard with this nerf to the ham costs for the knockdown moves, and these moves were the 'raison d'etre' for our class in the first place. To me, it's like making Snipers lose their ranged attacks.

Sure, now we are in the same boat as the other melee classes who lack a knockdown, but until today, it was widely acknowledged that tk was the 'cadillac' of melee classes in swg. Even a fencer I know struggling to fencer master stopped along the way to pick up enough TK experience to get knockdwon 1 to help him progress through fencer. Knockdown was just that good. The 2h swordsmen get huge damage, as do the fencers. We got less damage, but we got knockdowns, and speedier damage. I still think a good fencer with a good weapon can outdamage us, though. They are pretty much as fast and their specials do an awful lot of damage.

My goal is simple, get soe to take a step back and admit they nerfed us too hard. Sure, kd as it was needed adjustment, but I feel they went too far, as do a lot of other tera kasi.

I think we all share the common bond that we wanted this class above all others. It's hard to see a class nerfed as badly as this and take it lying down.I am not telling folks to give up (but I will try and discourage them from this path), I am not telling them to delete (unless they want to send a message to sony loud and clear). I am telling them to use whatever means are necessary to get their point across.

Many have chosen to cancel or threaten to cancel their accounts as they feel they have been unfairly crippled. This seems a good ploy to me to get SOE to listen, as it's a threat to their income.

Sorry, now I am just rambling, it's late and I have been watching these threads all day, as this matter is important to me, as it is to a lot of us. I see the same folks posting all day alongside us hehe.

I am really hoping SOE tomorrow comes out to say that they either mistakenly nerfed us too much and that ham costs are indeed bugged, or they underestimated how badly the change would effect us as a profession. I know that's probably too much to hope for, but some sort of acknowledgement of our plight is due, and soon. Even if we get official confirmation that *this* is the shape of things to come, at least those of us who want to move on can either cancel our accounts or start surrendering skills or start new characters elsewhere while we hope soe reconsiders their position vis a vis melees.

Until then, by all means, advance by whatever means are at hand - unarmedlunge2, unarmedlunge1 + dizzy, bleed shot followed by unarmed melee, grouping, kicking dust in their eyes, whatever works. I don't want to see folks quit, I want to see SOE recant and make our class fun again!

I tried this tonight and while it works as it always has, it is not a replacement for a KD that should only cost 100ham instead of the 200 ham it costs now. Dizzy is unreliable at best, when it does affect them and they actually fall sure it's great... until they stand up and whale on you again. Maybe it's cause i tested this on Nym Pirates, but honestly what else am i gonna fight that give any decient xp? Gnorts?
