Thread: My plan for the KD nerf: I see only two choices
Mastered TK and CH a few weeks ago and started a new Pistoleer/Doctor character on another server after the big patch, did that for the same reasons yougave.
Not much else for a TKM at the moment so I basically placed that character on ice until they figure out what there doing to fix melee. PIstol character is so much easier to progress incompared tothe ua/tk grinding.
I started playing TK and thats what the game is to me, I amTK. Don't want to be requiredto have a ranged attackto be decent at PvP.
If I dropped CHM and got pistoleer I'd most likely never use my TK skills again, except meditation.Though with the way CH is changing I may drop it and get Doctor.
I remember back then Selwynn kept tellin' ppl to switch their playin' style in order to complain about changes. Now she has a little complaint goin' on coz it starts to affect her.
Well. Now you know when somethin' which is not affectin' certain people, they would be like, "stop cryin' babies!" Normal. ![]()
The fact is, nothing in this thread was antyhing close to the immature flaming spewing rants of the past weeks by some. There was no bitching, no screaming and yelling, no over-exaggeration of the problem, no deliberate inflation of the severity of the situation, no spewing of viotrol - just my calm statement that I saw two ways to deal with the upcoming change.
The last patch effected me just like everyone else, at first I couldn't see the HAM costs for my character, but after working with a couple people I did, and posted my correction here on the boards. So your "when something starts to affect her" comment makes no sense. The patch effected me like everyone else.
The only difference is, instead of stageing a complete and total nutty, I GOT OVER IT and figured out how to be effective anyway. I will absolutely do the same thing after this patch, but if I can find not way to do so and I'm not having fun with TK, which is what I fear, then I will take a break from my TK and create a new character and do something else. No complaint there, no ranting, no petitions to sue Sony or stupid stuff like that - just a calm statement of fact on my plan.
If a few more people had done that last time, this would have been a better place.
If you wnated to rub hypocrisy in my face, the thread you should have pointed out was the Developer Responses to Corresponded Issues thread -- now in THERE I blew my stack and acted pretty hypocritically in light of my criticsm of the communities attitude after the last patch. That would be a point well taken. But but trying to do that here with this clam and civil thread you just look silly.
i declared this past weekend and it was a total blast
defending the rori base was awesome...
group hunting on dantooine is prolly second to that...i dont think i have seen a fire fight as intense as those i have seen on dantooine...
granted...my charc is less effective in these scenarios and i wind up pucking up my laser carbine but its fun nonetheless....
the funniest thing was watching a player try to kite me when they sae the TKA student title on me only to watch me take out my carbine while being run down by my dewback....
hehhehe if i cant catch you my pet can....
this game owns
Hey, I am a silly man, and you are correct!
*Sunday Morning.............SUNDAY MORNING AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh*
Yeah, Selwynn, I hear you.I am struggling with the same thing. I really want to take my TKA to Master, but if we TKAs have to suppliment our shortcomings with firearms, why even be a brawling profession?
What is the point of me usingpistol skills to get an enemy to a place where I can use my TKA skills when it would be much easier to just finish my target off with my pistol in the first place?
I could seeremaining a TKA if I wasn't interested in PvP (or if Iwasjust a Role Player who is only interested in a martial arts "selfimage" as negatively Holocron put it). However, I am very much interested in PvP; so, I am really struggling with dropping my TKA skillsin favor of becoming a Master Pistoleer to compliment my creature handling.
Needless to say, I am feeling very discouraged by all the negativity in these forums, the poor way TKAs are being treated, and the unending nerfs instead of thoughtful solutions that attempt to bring about balance among the professions. I wish I would have waited a year before joining SWG so that I would know where things truly stood in terms of gameplay profession balance. Everything is in a state of flux and so chaotic right now.
