I'm master brawler/TKA/Pikeman myself.

Well, its a slow climb to swords because I'm doing Holos atm, but I'm gonna be a deadly Master ID.

Why'd you choose Pike over Swords out of curiosity?

OK... this is what I have gotten so far:

- Humans used to have a cap and will again? - This is good.

- Humans are bugged but will be fixed? - This is good.

I would deffinately not want to climb those trees again just to have them 'fix' humans.

- Vitalize and Equilibrium are pretty cool and I guess I really should try to remember that I have them but I never seem to need them if buffed. (+50???)

The rest of the comments about saving skill points (notice I said DRs are in abundance and mycurrent skills are not of a DRs)and how 'I'm a twilik and do just fine blah blah blah'. Is all well and good but the fact is a buffed Human specced as I have outlined abovehas more raw potential than you any day of the week. Humans currently have the greatest end game potential is not a debatible issue.

Thank you guys for pointing out that this is being looked into... Is there another thread where this is being discussed that I can throw my 2 cents in?

Like the others I suspect the human's ability to migrate any stat including secondaries to 1100 is a bug. Before the patch that gave them this "ability" they were capped to 600 on secondaries. I suspect it's a bug because it wasn't in any patch notes and there has been no word about it.

Now to answer this question: Why'd you choose Pike over Swords out of curiosity?

Point blank pikeman specials are the sweetest looking specials in the game. Polearm area hit 1 is nice and polearm hit 2 given at novice pikeman is awesome.

Eye candy and aesthetics aside though Pikeman excel at AOE damage and they hit hard. AOE knockdown (Swordsman only have an AOE posture change) and AOE dizzy (I think they have an AOE dizzy) and huge AOE damage. They have horrible accuracy and the worst melee defenses at the moment (the weapon of choice has -54/-54/-54 accuracy mods) but I'm holding out hope that gets fixed. Not changed but fixed because missing 7 times in a row cannot be working as intended.

Also they get stun defense and to be honest with you the one negative status I can't stand is stun. For some reason I hate it when I'm stunned.

So I'm going TKA for the speed, very quick damage and meditation. I'm going pikeman for when I wish to dish out pure AOE damage. I know of pikeman putting 5K bleeds on mobs by stacking action hit 1 and action hit 2.

Yes swordsman can hit for major damage with the PH but I prefer my polearm.

If something has greater than light armor piercing TKA is at a disadvantage. The pikeman's long vibro axe is medium armor piercing vs the light of the VK's.

be patient. eventually the devs will take notice of the ability to min/max stats advantageously and NERF it.

so hang in there!

Milo we were trying to say that as Twi'leks with only a "paltry" 500 focus attribute we are doing just fine.

I was in the same boat as you before I became TKA with an alt. I was making threads about what race to choose etc etc. I decided to do it with my primary toon (who's twi'lek) and in the end it honeslty doesn't matter (unless you are a wookie which means no armor). I basically told my self "If I can make a Twi'lek Bounty Hunter I can make a Twi'lek TKA".

That's all

Besides why don't you try entertainer buffs to buff you mind secondaries.

The deal with Human's has to be a bug because when it happened everyone was acting surprised about it.

If you want to put in your two cents then go to the species threads on the main boards and post there.

Also with /equalize can't you heal your mind pool that way. If you are buffed and it takes your damage and splits it across three pools the buffed health and action should fill your mind out. I've read of zabrak's doing that (and being accused of cheating in the process) while playing.

yeah it'll only take them another 3 years to fix it so just hang in there!

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off that blunt. It's early and I've got idiots at work to deal with. Personally, I like mind bleeding things. But, AOE KDs, thats cool.

And you're right, Pikes look sweet. Especially on mounts, I love how the pike looks when you're riding a dewback.

Oh no I didn't take it as a flame or rant (it's easy to think that because that is the norm on these boards)

I took it as a simple question and just gave my opinions and reasons that's all.

Since I'm mostly PvE and mobs don't heal an action bleed is just as effective as a mind bleed as well.

If I was into PvP I would use my TKA skills mostly since they are so fast. I'd maybe whip out the pike to do some damage but probably stick to TKA.

PIkeman are so borked that our COB mod (block) still causes us to take damage so COB wouldn't help us in PvP either. There are pikeman who have turned on COB and still gotten incapped because of the damage you take while blocking. Not one red line of "x hits you for 100 pts of damage" and they still get incapped.

Ahh pikeman how I love thee. . .

A common misconception with human secondary stats is that the ability to raise them to 1100 is a bug. This is not true. This was made intentional due to the fact that humans don't have ANY special abilities just for being human.

Just because humans have useless abilities, just like the other species have useless abilities, doesn't mean they "don't haveANY special abilities". You are assuming the stat modifications isn't a bug, just as most people assume it is a bug.

Humans have just as many useless special abilities as non-humans and have the Imp bonus or non-penalization to be technical.

the point of humans was that they are supposed to be average... no real strengths, no real weaknesses, no special abilities...

i'd say having the ability to migrate secondary stats extremely high is most definitely a strength

Try being a Trandoshan with a MAX of 400 to stamina. Yes, 400.

And you can take my useless /regen special ability any day. It is slightly better than the utterly useless wookie roar.

Humans are bugged but there are some human players that for some reason believe they have every right to be the best at everything. Those same players also seem to think that our species special abilities mean something. Asside from Zabrak's pretty much all other racial abilities mean nothing at all. Of course those players don't care.

Next time they create a new character I just hope they try one of the other races to see how it feels. But then again as those players, especialy on the discussion forum, seem to believe... Why make anything other than a human?

And that is the problem, what reason do you have to make anything other than a human?
