Thread: Poll Top 10 Community Questions
1) Will we ever become jedi hunters like in the expanded universe? Im not saying that we should be the main hunters of jedi, that job is for the BH class but I think we should be able to sence when jedi use the force near us.
2) Also in the expanded universe there were a small population of Fallen Tera Kasi. Any chance of analternate Dark TK profession?
I have to say TKA is a very FUN profession to be part of. It is the only profession, besides a crafting one, that I felt had a nice difference between novice and master. I really noticed the difference when I reached master and novice.
- Are we getting nerfed? The "... all in the combat balance" answer given for every Pikeman question is not acceptable.
- When will center of being be fixed?
- Why was the meditaion animation removed/changed?
- Will we get a second damage type? It really pisses me off when I come up against 100% resistant to kinetic and can do squat against it.
- Can we get some kind of defense vs. diseaseand poison? In fact all melee professions need this as we are constantly getting diseased and poisoned. Meditation is nice, but requires breaking from the fight to use.
- WHY HASN"T THE ARMOR HOLE BUG BEEN FIXED YET?
- What is involved with the combat balance?
- What is being done to fix the redundant or useless skills?
- Can we get or resists to status effects increase? A level 20 creature should not be able to stun a master ever third attack (doctor curing stun inbetween).
- What is the TKA role amongst the melee professions, average at everything, high offense, high defense, what?
After reading the Pikeman 10 answers, I withraw my questions.
All the combat related questions will be answered by : this will be addressed in the upcoming class / combat system revamp.
You should all have a look on the Pikeman forum.
1) With Fencer, Swordsman, and Pikeman having ranged counterparts in Pistol, Carbines and Rifles. How are we going to be balanced as the only non-hybrid combat profession that has no point of reference? Example of my question is that for the same amount of skill points as the other non hybrids. We gain things like meditate which is a subject of much debate and arguement as to the TKA professions "overpowered" standing despite our shortcomings.
2) What is our role in combat. Mainly high end PvE"raid" style battles when our only damage type is kinetic. Yet many of these encounters have creatures with 100% resistance to said ability, heavy armor, or both.
3) When might this revamp be completed?
4) What is our role within the GCW, and PvP?
5) Seen any good movies lately?

Fix COB and fix unarmed combo 2 combat spam reporting. Those are the only 2 bugs in the entire profession.
I think many people have summed up a lot of good questions. The main one I have that hasn't been asked on this page is this:
Is it possible that Teras Kasi could take more skill points than the other brawlerelites (such as requiring master brawler or a line from scout or medic etc.)and thus be slightly stronger.
My reasoning for this (if the devs are undecided or something) is that they don't fit into the pattern like the others do (each targeting one specific HAM pool and having a ranged counterpart that does the same) and this would fit in a little bit better with the 'history' ofTeras KasiMasters beingclose in strength to lower level Jedi aseverybody seems to want.
The questions submitted were:
1. What is the Role of Teras Kasi as envisaged by the Developers? Are we to be tanks, skirmishers, one vs one, one vs many?
2. Are there any plans to fix the broken Defensive Acuity / TKA Center of Being skills in the near future?
3. With so many creatures / NPCs / Armour types having high, or in some cases total resistance to Kinetic damage (90% kinetic resist armour, 100% kinetic resistant NPCs etc), Teras Kasi often feel there are too many circumstances in which they are totally negated in combat. Will there be the possibility for Teras Kasi to inflict a different damage type (or lower resistances to Kinetic)?
4. Will there be any modifications to the Teras Kasi profession in the near future with regard to new or replacement skills and abilities? 'Stances' and different 'branches' of Teras Kasi are a popular idea.
5. There have been a number of rumours circulating in the player community that Teras Kasi will be getting 'balanced down' (read nerfed) in the next couple of patches. Could you confirm or deny this?
6. Many Teras Kasi feel lacking, as we are without a DoT effect attack. Is there any plan, or chance, of getting this redressed in the upcoming combat revamp?
7. We often feel that we are limited to very few effective specials in combat, with certain attacks (eg. UnarmedCombo1/2) proving pointless. With the community keen for diversity, other ideas, such as having certain attacks increase in power, or change in effect when combined with others, have been suggested. Will we have the opportunity for a greater range of choices in combat in the future?
8. Will Teras Kasi have the opportunity to use more weapons than just the Vibroknuckler in the future? It has been requested often that TKAs have weapon styles in a similar vein to real life martial artists.
9. Will there be more support for Teras Kasi as a roleplay base? Many from the community have asked whether forms of Kata can be implemented, as well as 'Dojos' which could serve as social points. Can the purpose and motives of Teras Kasi be expanded upon from an historic perspective?
10. Much has been speculated both within and outside the TKA community about the relationship of Teras Kasi to the Jedi. It has been suggested that sources from the expanded universe specify Teras Kasi as some form of Jedi Watchers - Will this be recognised and implemented into our profession, for example by allowing Teras Kasi to take on certain Jedi bounties?
As and when I get feedback on these questions, I will update you all.
