lol I said fencer thoughness > swordman toughness...As that thread was a reply to the MSW remark...please read next time

and yes fencer/TKM speecap at master Pike/Swords don't....That why I said MSW is mainly dependant on it's speedmods to get high DPS, fencer on how good their weapon is....

just FYI: I know several carbineers who completely WHIPE the floor with most melee'ers....it's also a question of speedtapes AND SKILL

Most TKM don't have any idea what they are doing....mmm change that TKM to any random professions lol...

I'm not TKM anymore since three days, but I do not think I exagerate when I say I was defenitly one of the better TKM on my server....

In fact...after pub 10 I got complimented by two FRS knights, they said me and my guildies where the first people to give them a fight (they had to run from 5 of us, while the day before the same two knights slaughtered 20 imps).

TKM is still a great profession in PvP....it's just to be used differently then before (more as support...preparation then damage...with jedi being the exception)

With todays armour alot of proffesions fel totally useless imo, which is a shame. I am a master swordsman and used to have fencer to blind and dizzy/kd, then take out my hammer to do the damage. That worked pretty good. Now I am going to try to use TKM instead of fencer, to stun, blind and dizzy/KD ... its the stun I am after, as swordsman accuracy and hammers all have horrible accuracy, making it hard to hit defense stackers. If I can manage to stu them however, my hammer dmg output might be doubled.

I see what you mean tho with TKA not doing good damage vs. the super armours, and that a shame, but try to stun, blind, then dizzy/kd, and youll find that your rifleman effectiveness will be alot better.

i don't seem to have a problem with any one in pvp and i'm usuing just a normal vk 156 max damage sure u can't kill someone in four or five hits if there armord and buffed but there just as good as dead when they're laying on their backs stunned, itimadated, blind, dizzied and i'm beating the crap out of their mind piece by piece

Wrong again with the toughness, Swordsman has more than Fencer: 43>32 if you didn't know..

What should be happening is this. Forget about the combat rebalance fora while. That wont come in a good 10 years if they are only late once. This means forget fixing the situation with uber armor and uber buffs. Until the combat rebalance comes tkm's need something else. Whether it be heavy armor piercing, dual wielding, or my personal preference, stun vibros. Forget heat damage ones, those wil be just as pointless unless you hitting up PVE, but this post is regarding PvP likei stated. Lower my damn power for all i care, just give us something we can work with in todays pvp world. Our weapons and things were designed for the days when armor didnt reach the intensity it is at today. All i ask is to give us something we can work with until the so called combat rebalance comes into play.

I'm TKM/rifleman/medic 4-4-0-0, lately, the only thing that can beat me are ubermind DOTs(pikeman mind fire is EVIL!!!), someone with an exceptional weapon(like a PH with 1,000 dmg or jawa iopn rifle with 800 dmg), or a jedi who get's a lucky KD on me. This is one on one. I'm not that good in 1 vrs multiple opponents though. You kind've have to be a doc or complete melee stacker to survive in that. You won't do much damage but at least you will suvive longer....

My VKs are 186dmg, 2.2 speed. The only armor I wear is a 36% stun helm-60ish% base, and 80% kinetic- 57% base chest plate. I only wear the two pieces of armor so I don't have to use my whole stomach up for mind food. I get full entertainer buffs, use 2 brandies, and eat whatever food I need when I need it.(usually 700+ canapes, synthsteak, KD food, or ahrisa). Keep a muon and pixie ready and have 450ish healing stim Bs I can use every 3 seconds or so, and have equilibrium(zabrak) and force of will, giving me basically 2 extra chances.

Just pile the states on and then go headhits, or, if you get a KD and dizzy to stick, switch to your rifle and go crazy on them. ALWAYS keep the opponent intimidated and blinded. It helps to spam it 3-4 timse so it sticks 2-3 times, making it last way longer(yes, you can stack intimidate). I

f you are fighting a jedi, pile on the states non stop. Keep them blinded, stunned, and intimidated the whole time or you'll go down. Try to get a KD in and use UH3 or unarmed combo, NOT HEAD HIT. The point is to try to drain as much Force from the Jedi as you can by making him heal the states and damage. While he's healing his states/damage, youget free hits on him, causethey can't hit you and heal at the same time. Once they are out of force, you have them, unless they run. In that casethere's nothing really that you can do besides taking outa good accurate rifle and burstrun after them. Maybe try to land a lunge.Carbines would be good for this with the ranged KDs and state attacks, if you're carbineer.

If you can't beat anyone with your TKM/rifleman then you arereally doing something wrong!!

becuase i have a short attention span im not going to read all these posts... but i will say... no, you are most definently wrong. Riflemen dont hurt me either AND many riflemen know im not a joke. I personally love fighting riflemen who think they are they 'uber' class and dont actually know how to fight.

oh and you get a 1 star for being a noob...nice VKs though

just re-read the end of your post and decided to say that i no noob to pvp... ive fought many TKM/Rifleman and won, MBH/Pistoleers and won, Fencer or TKM or Swords/Master brawler + def trees and won so it isnt impossible to win with TK (as you can see its my only combat proff)

TK has a problem with *armour that has high kinetic defense* thats the bottom line...in out an out GCW you should just be tanking anyway so that your team mates can get there ranged shots in.

2 solutions

nerf armour or give TK's an extra damage type

simple

this is why i dropped tkm for fencer

fencer is the same as pike...can only win in pvpby using very good dots...fencer was nice while scatterhit was bugged(bypasses toughness) and stun-armor was not common...

After the combat rebalance and armor fix - TKM is going to be one of the most valuable in PVP. It was in the beginning before the buffs started and the high armor protection and it will be again.

Everything is borked in PVP so for now yes it is - it is for Swordsman and Pistoleer and a few others - but it soon won't be.

TKM is still going to be the best assist for killing Jedi.

Wish i could of been around in the days when armours was weak by todays comparison. May have been a really easy time for TKs. Grinding unarmed and especially Teras Kasi must of been very difficult or very very long.

Wouldn't mind seeing Stun VKs though. Stun is Fencers main alternative though i'd rather see us get something more unique. Not sure what though the only idea i can think of is Advanced Kinetic :-/ maybe a tougher version of kinetic to resist and maybe aquired at master while not using Vks or a new type of Vks that aren't painstakingly hard to get a hold of :-/. Just my thoughts...
