One template my friend and I are having a race to get to first is MDoctor/TKM/Scout 1/0/0/0. It lets you self-buff, buff others (for the right price:smileyhappy, rescutcitate people, heal states, wounds, and damage, you get some terrain neogtiation, and still be a fairly well-balanced fighter. You could try this one if you like but, you'll have 0 skill points left and in my opinion the grind in Medic and Doctor isn't too terribly hard and like I said above Doctor is a great money-maker if you find a crowded spot with people who need buffs. That's just my 2 cents though.

Go to Coronet, and get Dire Cat missions... they usually run about 2100 credits. The dire cats give about 1k XP (females about 500) and are relatively easy to kill. I went from Unarmed 4 to TK Novice in about 6 to 8 missions (3 or 4 trips, 2 missions each). Buffing helps, but brandy and stim b's might do it too.

Hope that helps,

Here's the thing, I'm trying to go from Unarmed IV to TKA student, and I've found that trying to do it by any normal means is pretty much taking forever. As an example. I go after something giveing my 420 XP, it takes me 5 mins to kill it, and 5 mins to heal. for which I get 420 XP and like 100 Cr.
Or I can go after meatlumps and kill them in 30 secs make 42 xp, and 7 - 100 Cr. As this get's really boring, I wrote a Macro, and turn him loose and go grab a Pizza. An Hour later I've got 5040 XP and 10,000 more credits. WIth the fair fights I wind up with 2520 XP and 600 Cr in the same time. Also I maxed out a couple types of Faction I get the impression I'm gonna need.
I'm doing this in the hopes that after reaching TKA student, I can start grouping and do some RP'ing and not have to do another grind.

There is no such profession that is not a grind.

I mean just doesnt FEEL like a grind.

Its sad when I look at this game. Not much to do but grind to level a profession whereas when I played Ultima, it want experience to get a level, your skill went up as you used the skill.

For example; In SWG if you went out adventuring in a group, you can fight the same target but you lose XP from what you would have had killing on your own. In ultima, say you were fighting a dragon. It may die quicker from more people but each time you swing at it or cast a spell you might go up a tic in skill just by using it.

Make any since?

I hear you - the trouble is this game is designed like a thousand others - kill gain xp kill gain xp kill. There should be quests.

I would much prefer having to go through trials - reap rewards at the end eliminateloot except for mob loots as they have now - scales, armor segments blood etc.... But skill tapes - weapons etc... should be given by quest givers. At least this was the best thing about DAOC - even though I did not care for that games interface.

If you would level killing and killing, at least give something at the end of that. Quests would make any profession less of a grind.

You could try Master Swords to compliment your TKM defenses - does not take long at all to master. With some solo groups you could do it on a weekend. Quenkers or Fambaas (an underappreciated mob I do believe). You would be good in PVP and PVE with these 2 professions.

Does anyone know if shipwright will have artisan pre-reqs? Thought maybe I should do that since people will probably charge a fortune for that stuff. Not to make myself rich but to save myself some creds.

from what i have read (which is certainly not everything on the subject) all skills related directly to JTL are separate from any skills we have now, so it is highly unlikely that there will be artisan pre-reqs for shipwright.

hello,

if it were me..and i wasn't looking to persue a pvp template but, to just have fun..i think i would have more fun being a master creature handler....aint nothing like having two pets pulled out and crying "SICKEM!!!!" and watching the npc getting mauled by your pets..lol...plus its like having your own group...and since ch doesn't require all too many sp's...i worked out the sp's and you can get tkm,m. rifleman, m. ch....only thing is you might not have enough sp's for your novice medic....but, you still have sp's to do something with them..maybe pick up some defense lines from pike or fencer..maybe get the pistoleer defense line 0040 which will at least let you use the geo pistol and have some ranged ability.....personally..i haven't tried this..but master artisan wouldn't be all too bad...setup a vendor make swoops,speeder..other stuff people can buy..giving you something for crafting..anyways...Ceasar :::::sunrunner::::::

Getting a little off topic here, the rez ring from the Tattooine hero quest is great. I have used it once. The only thing that was disappointing was not being able to retain the buff your received prior to dying. It saves you a trip to the cloning center but it's a bummer because you have to rebuff. I wonder if i'm doing something wrong like not rezzing quickly enough or what?

TKM/MCH seems to be a good combo, as you can see from my sig im already tkm and going on ch, 1111 atm this leaves you with 52 sp so you couldnt get M rifleman aswell, you would need 290sp for that.

im spending the extra points on medic 4430.

i dont think speed has anything to do with it because you loss your buffs as soon as you become a corpse, i only used mine once, but lossing the buffs meant i dyed again
