Orrr, you could look at this link of a preliminary test of it on the TC patch notes from November: "Added to-hit bonus for melee vs. ranged weapon attacks. This is a replacement for the damage multipliers and a sub-feature for the damage mitigation addition. If you use a ranged weapon against a melee combatant, you are easier to hit."

Dang Antares, great finds.
Thanks for giving evidence for what I've thought, now I can say it for sure without guilt. I hate giving people information based on guesses or rumors.

Honestly they need to get rid of melee mitigation.
Why, exactly?

Cause I do way more dmg to someone without melee mitigation than with it. hehe I'm starting to wonder if I should go any deeper than this with you ....

I would think it's the 90% Armor and buffs, but hey whatever floats your boat
I agree with Sovi... Buffed for over 2900 last night. 110% Droid, Medical City, +25 Bivoli.

No, I understand what you're saying. My only point is: why would you be ok with armor that reduces your damage output so much more than mitigation and everyone can have without having to have any skill points used up to get mitigation, but the mitigation itself you want removed? I would think that armor would be the first to go in that case. Mitigation hurts pikeman/swordsman the most, definitely. It's painful and I recall the devs saying something about mitigation in PvP going away with the combat revamp, but there are things that will reduce your damage even more.

Reduce armor resistance too, but then if you think about it Swordsman can still pound on your mind at a good rate even with mitigation and armor so that would need a nerf but then again heh, all the professions would need a nerf (... or unless you mean Swordsman as in Fencer, cause those two elements really kill Fencer too) ... this is why I'm dying to see the CB cause it'll reshape everything to fit with everything instead of set themthe way they first started, then make some better or worse, whilesome professions stand tall above the fixed or sit low than others ... the CB will accustom all the professions with each other and the offensive and defensive elements that go with it in a few swift phases. Hopefully they'll do a good job in the end of it all.

But mitigation affects swordsmen using power hammers as much as pikemen with LVAs, so unless you're talking specifically about the scythe, I don't see what's the difference. I don't see where you're coming from with the anger toward mitigation. Fencers are less susceptible to mitigation than swordsmen.
