Only time that TKA could be considered too powerful is if a ranged user was silly enough to get within 5m of us.

Guess the other 59m advantage a ranged user gets is not enough for them then ?. Even NPC seem to agro at 60m now, so we have to run 55m towards them to even hit them effectively. I would say that is quite a big disadvantage.

Plus VK's are a TKA's only weapon that gives us AR1 ability (but with crippling ham costs to use specials), so we can attacked armoured targets better.

They should have the same range as not using them, seems silly how you hold something small in yourhand and you lose2m range.

I think also you have to consider the distances are all set to try and compensate for lag and difference in client server timings.

Well, boo friggin hoo. Feel what it means to be melee. You're lucky that they ARMED unarmed players!

Just as I have said in previous TKA posts, I am part TK, part fencer, and intend to master 2-hand and pike. I see what some of the gripe is, and in every situation, TK's complain about the same issues that ALL melee classes have. You know that you're the flavor of the month. while all other melee classes get treated like step-children.

You're not plastic man, stop asking to be one. if a Bocatt keeps moving out of your range (these guys are famous for moving right out fo range, forcing me to continue to step forward, or change melee weapons), tehn step up. Cry me a river.

You TK's have yet to give me a decent reason for the gripes that you guys have, and your defense of your power versus other melee classes. Half of you here do just just that, and then go in game and are the first to say, "LOL, you're a -insert melee class here-, you suck"

I dont think you could really be more wrong here. Most TKA's recognize that they are the best of the melee classes, and most of us think that the other melee classes need to be fixed more than we do. We gripe about our ownprofession because it is OUR PROFESSION. Let the other gripe about their own. We recognize that they are hurting more than us, and that they need fixes badly, and we sympathize, but that doesn't take away our right to want our profession fixed as well.

You talk about realism, and make these snide remarks about "TKA's arent 'plastic men'". Have you ever tried to hit anything while running in SWG? No? Well its impossible if your max range is 3m. IMPOSSIBLE. Not just hard, you literally cant do it. Read some posts on this forum and I think you will find out why. If this doesnt fit your definition of a 'decent reason for a gripe', I dont know what does. I don't think we are asking to be 'plastic men', we just want to be able to hit things while running for christ's sake, same as all the ranged classes. If you think 5m is too great a range for a TKA, well ask yourself this, what is more important? Some sort of meaningless number that is very abstract in terms of the world of SWG? Or the ability to hit things while running? I think functionality wins out over your petty problems with numbers pretty easily.

If this means Pikemen need a range of 15m, so be it. Im not one to gripe about numbers. That is silly, people get too literal about the ranges and the numbers...i dont care if in real life there are no 15m pikes, I just want the relative ranges and powers of the different classes to make sense. As long as it WORKS, and everything is the way it should be relative to everything else, it is ok. If you are caught up on the numbers, then you have a very narrow minded view of the situation.
